he’s obviously leeching off of your success. with one more win than you, he can mirror your picks all year and finish ahead of you in the all-time awesome-person-at-football-guessing rankings.

66-24, 9-5 last week
I’ve got Poz’s picks this week, except for New York/Oakland.
MIN @ Pit – Minnesota’s pass game begins to open up, and they have the more consistent D
Sf @ HOU – Slaton’s turning into a real double threat, and Schaub is really doing well this year
SD @ Kc – Chiefs just don’t have the firepower offensively to win this game
GB @ Cle – Lombardi preached fundamentals in the Bay, that’s what wins this game
IND @ Stl – Rams can’t stay out of their own way AND cause enough trouble for Indy.
NE @ Tb – Go do something else this Sunday, Bucs fans, the Patriots show no mercy
BUF @ Car – Upset pick this week! This is a bad matchup for the Bills, but the running backs are going to get carries finally, so it should be a slugfeste
NYJ @ Oak – Sorry Poz, I just don’t see the Jets falling that fast, or the Raiders/Eagles game being more than an accident.
ATL @ Dal – Miles Austin can’t save your spiraling season, Cowboys!
Chi @ CIN – Close game, going with the home team here
NO @ Mia – WHO DAT > Wild Cat. Saints D is stout, veteran, and makes plenty of plays against “rookie” Henne.
Ari @ NYG – Gmen won’t lose two in a row, especially at home
PHI @ Was – Eagles woke up last week, they’ll be up for this division game anyways.

good picks and good logic!
the reason I went Oakland was that I feel the Raiders will be flying high after a HUGE win over the Eagles while a rookie QB after a 5 pick performance with only one good receiver healthy who is being covered by Nnamdi Asomugha with that pretty good raiders pass rush? I’ll take Oakland, plus my distaste for the Jets playe a factor in the selection as well.

with only one good receiver healthy
Who?
Braylon Edwards is not a good receiver. Sanchez needs Cotchery back so badly.

Chi @ CIN – Close game, going with the home team here
my thoughts exactly. People are quick to jump off the Bengals. Carson Palmer and Chad Ochocinco are healthy, which means they can beat any team any Sunday, especially playing at home with a running back out for revenge.

Personally
I think people have been quick to jump on the Bengal bandwagon. They do have some very nice wins this year, but they still have some major deficiencies, IMO.

also as fun as it is to make light of them, I DO think buffalo has a good shot to win it. I just say about 52%-48% Panthers. That’s why I like the pickem leagues with confidence points, because I’d put about a 1 or a 2 on this game, so it should be fun to see.
One thing that is entertaining about the Bills have never been a very predictable team, few games turn out how I expect them too at all. Week 12 last year they go utterly berserk on the Chiefs out of nowhere and put up more than I think anyone has at Arrowhead. They score 54 and give up 31! The next week: They score 3 points to a San Francisco team with an interim coach and several problems.

since I've been flappin my gums
Why doesn’t sbnation have an edit/delete/quote function? By quote i mean like requoting someone elses post in one click to avoid confusion. For example I’ve had times when I’m replying to person A and before I post person B posts something, and my post might apply to both person A or B and so why can’t I distinguish what I’m replying to easier than Copy/Pasting their post, or having to make a new comment.
Why does every comment and reply create like this narrow spiral of angled posts and clutter until you have no idea what the original comment your replying too is? Each reply is like an old typewriter going off the edge.
Maybe it’s just me, and maybe I’m just used to forums more, but it just is a pain sometimes. Maybe I’m alone anyway I’ll shut up.
Obviously a great community, insight and articles are the most important thing,

I think are in the minority here!
How often do the replies get so long and numbered that the original comment is difficult to distinguish? It only happens with good comments/topics. Plus, is it really that hard to scroll up and down?
The reason there is no requote is because it would be abused. You mention forums and that is exactly what I’m talking about. When someone has a long comment, and someone else quotes it in its entirety, not only does that create a huge reply (even if a few words are said in response), but it takes up a ton of space in the reply section. Oh yeah, this isn’t a forum either!!! Haha
And is it really that hard to just copy/paste and use the quotes button? Maybe there is a better format, but you have to admit, that’s not that difficult a thing to do!
Because Rumblings is such a big community, it’s hard to say there’s a perfect setup…

Poz, good picks!
My only two hesitation from this list are:
I think maybe KC could surprise at home. The chargers D is horrible and without getting pressure on Cassel, he probably will have a great day. The won against Washington who have a great Front.
The other hesitation that I have is with Minny at Pittsburg, this is going to be a tossup. But I think the Vikings find a way to pull out a win. I agree with the Vikings solely because of Jared Allen. Every game that the Steelers have played against teams with a great pass rush they’ve lost, so I agree with the Vimings but it’s going to be a close one.
I have nothing left to say, these Bills have sucked me dry of any hope. Loosing to a team that completes 2-17 for 23y with 1 INT, that is beyond pitiful!

right
to tell you the truth the Chiefs gave me pause until I decided that great QBs win games in this league and Philip Rivers has entered the level just below elite this year. Meanwhile, I think Eli has finally entered the elite this season , he looks like his brother out there this year, barking audibles, making perfect throws and being completely poised.
My decision on Minny came down to the Steelers offensive line and Rashard Mendenhall. As you pointed out, the Steelers lose to great pass rushes and with Mendenhall only being an average runing back in my book, the Steelers have been forced to air it out. Their little aerial attack game isnt going to fly on a defense like Minny’s, though it should be an awesome game.

oakland
I hope we look smart with the Oakland pick Poz. I actually bought into the Raiders cuz I liked how they played last week, and something about the NYJ traveling across to the other coast, with a rookie QB who will be trying to impress all his former USC groupies, makes me think the Oakland defense will have a field day with Sanchez.

This week If the Bills win I pick up a game on Kurupt.
Jets win I pick up a game on Marv
Bengals win I tie them.
I like my chances on moving up two more spots this week into a tie with those guys.

to win this contest is to get as many right choices as possible till the end of the season? If that’s the case, then it doesn’t matter if the other guys are picking — you should try to pick the winner everytime.

I try to pick teams that have a realistic possibility of an upset. Was SF over Houston really that crazy of a pick? Or Miami over NO? The Saints are going to win a game sooner or later, and if Henne hadn’t messed up it could have happened. I thought that the Cardinals would win mainly because the Giants secondary is really banged up, and the Cards were a tough matchup for them. As for K.C….they have been playing pretty well recently, ans San Diego doesn’t impress me at all.
