MNF what could have been.....
With the game being pretty boring overall it was interesting to pay attention to the play of our old tackles, Jason Peters and Mike Williams. First off let me state that I think the decision to release/trade both of these players was the right one at the time. Having said that it is hard not to imagine where the bills line would be today if these two panned out for Buffalo?????
Without any replays or breaking down game film it seemed like Mike Williams had a decent game against a very tough and active front. He seemed to maintian good balance and was active in the run game and more than solid in the pass game. For Jason Peters, it was interesting to see that Philly gave him help on what seemed like every pass play after halftime. He gave up a sack on a bad attempt at a cut block and seemed to be playing way to "high" (standing up) on most plays. He didn't seem like the dominant force he was in Buffalo. This was the first Philly game that I watched all year but he wasn't very impressive.
Having said all that it is still an interesting thought of having both of them in the lineup for the Bills. Just a thought....
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

Peter's play has regressed
He was really bad in the preseason as well, kickouts directly into the QB. Carter completely embarrassed him on the sack/fumble. The commentators mentioned that that play was unacceptable for a “pro-bowler.”

and dockery
watched the game partially due to those three guys. the redskins line looked awful. williams was repeatedly pushed into campbell, and i think the eagles had 6 sacks. very little running game as well. dockery wasn’t much of a loss, but it is sad to think that mike williams would probably be starting if he was on the bills roster right now.
peters looked fine, definitely got a lot of help though.

I know Peters was coming off of injury, and is probably slow, but he has been sub-par all year. You can say what ylu want about the Bills, who have dealt with injury and whose line is awful right now, but it would have been ludicrous to pay crazy amounts of money for sub-par play.
I stil think we did the right thing

in getting rid of him, yes….
But replacing him? No, not really. Bell has proven he probably wasn’t ready for the starting LT job this year, but we have to hope he continues to get better and stronger.

That is a big reason i have a strange inkling that Jauron will be here next year, as we are still in “rebuilding mode” and the line is a good example of that. TO was brought it for multiple reasons, one of which was to give the impression that we are not still in rebuilding mode, but the line makes it seem clear we are.
Basically, we’ve only lost our RT for th long haul so it isn’t just injuries. This line is growing together and I think Bell can be very good in the future….but these are the growing pains we have to deal with. I think a 2nd – 4th rd tackle next year would be a good pick up, so to give us more depth in case further setbacks for Butler or anyone else continue. Hell, we should only draft lineman on both sides of the ball and LBs….but who knows….

I’m game. That’s all we really need. oh, that and a QB if Edwards doesn’t improve.
I hope Trent’s been watching Fitzy win and is getting fired up.

Peters might still be feeling the effects of his knee injury. He’s been mediocre this season, but I wouldn’t take one game where he’s probably playing hurt as a great indicator of his performance and future performance.
