Edwards to start, Owens misses practice

The Buffalo Bills hoped to exit their bye week healthier. While, by and large, that's true, the team is still severely banged up entering their Week 10 game on the road against the Tennessee Titans.

Terrell Owens missed practice on Wednesday with what head coach Dick Jauron described as a strained hip. Owens practiced Monday, but the injury flared up late Tuesday. His status is uncertain for this weekend, but it looks like a situation that the Bills will monitor on a day-by-day basis.

The rest of the injury report: defensive end Aaron Schobel, defensive tackle Kyle Williams, linebacker Keith Ellison and cornerback Terrence McGee all missed practice Wednesday. The four defensive starters may not be available for this weekend's game, which could leave Buffalo severely short-handed in their front seven. Meanwhile, safeties Jairus Byrd and Donte Whitner, as well as offensive tackle Jamon Meredith and fullback Corey McIntyre, were limited.

In the least surprising bit of news on the day, Jauron named Trent Edwards his starter for the Titans game.

Buffalo needs to make a decision on whether or not to promote receiver James Hardy to the active roster. They'll make that announcement by 4PM; look for a FanShot confirming which player was released in order to make room for Hardy.

2 things...

1. We are expecting both Byrd and Whitner to go this weekend, right?
2. That 4pm deadline is for the rest of the year, right? As in if hes not active by 4pm today he will not be active all year?

It looks like Whitner will play, though they havn’t confirmed it yet – Byrd is definitely a go

And yeah, if Hardy isn’t activated then he is done for the season. I would be mind blown if they didn’t activate him

alright thanks. Yeah that would make no sense to any of us if Hardy isnt activated. Just curious… who do you think gets the boot?

I think it has to be Jenkins – I havn’t seen much of Johnson on ST but I think they activated him a couple games ago to see how he would do – because Hardy will not be playing ST.
And if the Bills are still weary about his knee they can bring him back to the roster and just not have him active for this game. I don’t think the Bills have anything to lose by bringing him back…

I figured it would be Jenkins too, since hes a WR and is only on ST. Just curious to see if anyone else had a diff opinion.

Jenkins has come up with some good tackles on ST, though, stopping guys for little or no gain.

Definately think hes been good on ST. After I typed that I read it and it sounded like i meant he isnt important, which obviously he is. Kind of reminds me of Sam Aiken when he was our gunner on ST. I just feel since he is a WR by position that he will end up being the odd man out.

I don't know how to explain it but we seem to find eachother on the ice and make things happen... Yeah. Pass, shoot, score... Yeah. Pass.. Shoot.. And score.

I still think Schobel plays on Sunday, Williams no, McGee they will have to chain down to keep him from playing

Somebody needs to chain the man down for a game or two. Get him at 100% then turn him loose. We have a deep secondary; we should use it.

WRT your sig, most people I encounter don’t realize Buffalo is in NY state, much less know its relative distance to NYC.

Really? I currently live in AZ – and all the time when I saw I grew up in Buffalo, they are like, oh that’s right next to NYC right?

That’s better than all those fools from NJ that say they are from NYC, or the people from New Hampshire that say they are from Boston.

I like activating Hardy......

…. but why not just cut Roscoe NOW, and pick up either some much needed O-line depth or help on the D front?

Is there a particular reason you call him “Fizz”?

IMO

TO is dogging it. He misses a day of practice (or more) every week. When he’s on the field (and the play is not to him) he walks through his route. What a waste of $6.5MM. Even more of a waste to think he’ll stay and Omon is cut to make room for Hardy. Omon has contributed more than TO…and has more heart than TO(for the Bills).

Oh no, not Omon!

Big deal, a crappy 3rd string RB is let go. The guy wasn’t any good, so I’m not sure why it’s such a problem…

Omon has contributed more than TO

Nope, not even close.

Did Omon even make a single contribution in his Bills' career?

27 yards on 11 attempts. 1 kick return for 26 yards.

T.O. rushed for more yards than Omon has in his career on his touchdown run last game! :-)

welcome back edwards

Does Jauron have any kids? the way he is clinging to Edwards is like a parent. we could have made this a 8—7 year, but not with short arming Eddie. He threw long in college, why he does not try any more I do not know I do not accept that it is a porous line. is he scared?
