What about bringing in Marvin Harrison for the 2nd Half of the Bills Season?
Does anyone have any thoughts or views about this? Marvin hasn't been picked up by anyone, we all know he is a great receiver with exceptional skills to match. Plus I feel he would be a great teacher for players likes Johnson, and Hardy so that they can really start to blossom at the wideout position. TO is far from being a teacher or mentor to anyone right now plus he has yet to show any type of leadership skills with the team whether its on or off the field. But I just really want to know how you guys and gals feel and who would you bring in or let loose during the 2nd half of our season?
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

It’d serve no purpose. Harrison’s NFL career is over.

I have a feeling if he’s available once the post season starts, Indy will resign him. He brings quality depth to a team in the playoffs and who knows Manning better than Harrison?

But Indy has had a bunch of injuries at WR, right? And they never brought him back. They plugged in new guys who have stepped up.

I would have to wonder if they’re playing a timing game with him. If they brought him back early in the season, he wouldn’t be fresh for the post season. A player of his calibre is a huge benefit in the post season, Austin Collie – not so much.

couldn’t be furthur from the truth – TO is helping the younger guys by show them how he practices and goes about reading defense. Also – you see him jumping up and down and getting his guys motivated during the huddle or time outs.
also – harrison is done – no way

I have a thought...
….though not necessarily about this.
Instead of pounding out 3 short fan posts why not do a Krytime style mind-dump? You can cover just as many topics but you won’t be pushing other fanposts off of the front page. I think you’ll find that those sort of omnibus posts generate more discussion and people find all kinds of ways to weave your points together. Just a thought…
Of course we could make things more challenging, Lisa, but then the stupider students would be in here complaining, furrowing their brows in a vain attempt to understand the situation--Seymour Skinner
Wait a minute
TO isn’t a mentor despite all his tutoring of Hardy and his non-stop work ethic, but Marvin Harrison is some sort of mentor? The guy who keeps to himself and is involved in shootings? That’s a guy you want showing your young WR’s the ropes? The guy who’s career is over?
Nice

wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Harrison doesn’t keep to himself he just doesn’t put hisself in negative situations that may relief on him and the team. You never heard of any bad press about the man during or after the season until this shooting inicdent but no charges have been brought against him. But can you imagine Harrison,Evans,TO and Hardy in a spread offense? Those DB’s would really have alot to think about before the snap of the ball.
even Peyton said he doesn’t know what Marvin does and keeps to himself.

What are you talking about?
Harrison is one of the most distant players in recent memory. He’s always kept to himself and was a quiet player on the field. Sorry, but I don’t see how he would be much of a mentor to anyone.
That doesn’t even include the idea that his knee is shot, he wants a huge contract and looked totally washed up last year.
You’re just making stuff up and thinking the current Harrison is even remotely similar to the 2002 Harrison.

As a fellow die hard Syracuse fan, I can completely agree that Harrison is a very quiet teammate who keeps to himself. Not a disruption, but never a teacher either. He was a hard worker who got his time in with Manning and the coaches, but he was never a vocal leader, a guy who took young WRs under his wing or anything like that.
I signed up for Second Life about a year ago. Back then my life was so great that I literally wanted a second one. In my Second Life I was also a paper salesman and I was also named Dwight. Absolutely everything was the same. Except I could fly. - Dwight Schrute
Yea I'm with K
The guy would be in jail for a shooting that happened at a business he owns in Philly but there were no witnesses and it was swept under the rug.
Besides, we can’t get the ball to the all-pro receivers we have right now, what would we do with Harrison? Not pass him the ball too?

What those guys said… plus… why would we bring in a guy at a position we are already going to have problems seeing activated on Sundays. Evans, Owens, Reed would definitely be ahead of him. Jenkins is going to be active on Sundays from here on out I imagine. Hardy or Johnson will be active, too. Does he want to come back as a fourth WR at best?

No thanks
I love Harrison’s body of work, but I think it’s over for him. We already have 1 aging wideout, we don’t need another taking a roster spot.
What I’d like to see is an OT to mentor our very young guys and boost our protection for the rest of the year. Any decent OTs out there?
Is he gonna block?
Unless he can plat T, no thanx…

I don't think so
We have enough wide receivers. We have a much greater need at a lot of other positions. We just activated James Hardy and have 7 wide receivers on our roster. Marvin Harrison is not going to do any good. Why would he sign with the Bills. He wants to get paid and we have enough money invested at wide receiver. If the Bills sign a big veteran free agent it needs to be Jon Runyan.

I would like that.
I could see us signing Runyan, the guy has a Grinch like mentality.
Like Lb an Ot
thats where we really need some new bodies.
There's not a wide receiver who is fast enough, that J.P. Losman can't overthrow him on a fly pattern.

What
The Bills could sign Jerry Rice in his prime and they still couldn’t get the ball to him. The production of the WR has everything to do with the OL and QB, of which we have neither
Im not done with Trent
I think he has the ability to succeed in this league.
I just think he is in the wrong offense, the coaching staff needs to give him a Rich Gannon style WC offense. That is what I think Trent would be good at.
I bet before his career is done, Trent will have later success like Gannon, even if it is with another team.

is it just me or ?
we have bin thinking ab geting guys fom pilly a lot late 1 runyan 2 vick and now harrison all guys who have pbs 2 w bad knees runyan and harrison and vick i just dont see an upside to the 3 of them
Another WR is not going to make this team any BETTER!!!
I think the acquisition of T.O has proved that it is pretty pointless to have playmakers without an OFFENSIVE LINE. With this line, Peyton Manning would look pretty bad. Even if we had Larry Fitzgerald he would do nothing. Harrison wouldn’t make this team any better. Maybe as a WR coach he could help but thats it. We need offensive lineman, particularly offensive tackles before we think about adding another WR/RB/TE. After you have established the line, than go from there, it is pretty simple, but the Bills have failed to realize that for the past 10 years. We have had god awful O-lines, hence our horrible offenses minus that one year with Drew Bledsoe.
