surprising coincidence?

Is it just me or does anyone else find it strange that the week James Hardy is activated, TO goes out with a weird last minute injury?  There is definitely smoke here...

Could be that Jauron wants to get Hardy in a game and has asked TO to lay low with this last minute weird injury.  Really when you think of it, he'll get paid either way here and his job in Buffalo is done, he was the splash guy, the guy they brought in to appease the uproar and dissatisfied fans and to a certain extent it worked as planned.  He's been horrible on the field but then again that was never the primary reason for bringing him in anyways.

Another possibility is TO wanting to take a step down to leave Hardy get his chance either because he's a great mentor that wants his prodigy to get a shot or maybe he realized that he can only hurt his reputation to play out the season.  Let's face it his stats at the halfway point are horrible and unless a miracle happens at QB & Oline, they are not about to get better anytime soon.  If he gets injured (real or not) and then the rookie steps in and does well, then when he gets better there's an excuse for sharing time with Hardy and it skews the fact a bit.  If he stays in for a full season and has horrible stats, then his career is probably close to over, he can go watch Sunday games with Marvin Harrison.

It's probably nothing but it's funny how much of a coincidence it is that he gets hurt the same week Hardy is ready to come back...

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

I’m going with no – because if we don’t make the playoffs(!!) then DJ is probably gone. he’s going to go with whom ever gives us the best chance to win and thats TO.

if for nothing else than his presence alone to draw coverage

Ummm....No

You think TO would keep quiet is some bad coach asked him to take a cut in playing time for some guy coming off an ACL injury?

TO isn’t going to voluntarily step down so some 2nd year player can get on the field. Let’s get real here. TO is playing for his next, and probably last, contract. He needs to be on the field. A 35 year old guy missing games due to nagging, minor injuries is a terrible sign and something a future team isn’t going to want to deal with.

Did you ever think that maybe, just maybe, TO is actually injured and its not some conspiracy to get a very mediocre player like Hardy on the field?!?

In addition, there’s no guarantee that if TO does not play, that Hardy will. Parrish could potentially play instead.

I was just outlining the coincidence. TO’s injury is sudden and somewhat secretive.

TO is playing for his next, and probably last, contract. He needs to be on the field.

EXACTLY, which is why I suggested that he himself must realize that with these two QBs and our horrible tackles, his chances of looking good in the next 8 games is not too high. If he goes out to an injury, with 8 games remaining on the schedule, it leaves a doubt that he can still play. Whereas if he plays out his 1y contract with horrible numbers he basically is out of the league next year. I know it’s far fetched but it still has a bit of merit.

I have nothing left to say, these Bills have sucked me dry of any hope. Loosing to a team that completes 2-17 for 23y with 1 INT, that is beyond pitiful!

Or it proves he's broken down

And would be an injury concern going forward.

If TO goes out, plays hard, stops dropping passes and is a good soldier, teams will overlook the lack of production due to crappy QB play. If he doesn’t play, they’ll use his poor first half and 8 missed games to conclude he’s done.

You really want this team to simply quit don’t you? First you think they should lose out to ensure Jauron is fired and to get a high draft pick. Now you think TO should sit out even though it won’t help him. These are professional athletes, who don’t simply roll over and quit. They are intensely proud, and are all fighting for jobs. None of these guys are quitting on themselves, sorry.

As I said below I didn’t really believe this crap, I just wanted to put the coincidence out there. I think either way TO’s career is basically over. He lead the league in dropped passes the past few years and this year one thing has been proven and that’s that he needs a lot of opportunities to be relevant on a team. So any team that does not commit to throwing to him very often will likely be disappointed in his production.

Please don’t extrapolate. Yes it’s true that I really want Jauron gone and I also want to see this team improve for the long term. The way I view it we need serious changes around here if we want serious improvements. So if we go out and win, say 4 out of 8 games, then we still finish with a losing record but then we handicap our next GM/Coach) by giving him a poor draft selection. What good will those 4 extra win serve us? Worse, if we win 5 or 6 more (by absolute pure miracle) and Wilson decides to keep the stupid inner circle intact and Jauron for another year, do you honestly think we should be hopeful for next season? C’mon, this year is the absolute worse year in well over 20 years of Bills football, the offense is the most pathetic I have seen since being a Bills fan. Right now there is zero hope – unless things seriously change and the only way I see REAL change occurring is by humiliating Mr Wilson. If we lose out, I doubt that he’ll have any choice but to make drastic changes. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Bills and during the games I root for them and I am cheering them to win but deep down I also know that each win going forward this year potentially can negatively affect the foreseeable future of this team.

That's fine and all

But if you think the players have any desire to quit or lose, you are sorely mistaken. You hoping they lose out so Ralph can clean house really means very little. You think the players fighting for their livelihood give a crap about the future of this franchise?

I hear you and I am not disagreeing with you either.

Remember the last game when TO broke off his route and Fitzy threw a go route? The ball was intercepted. One of the camera angles showed the ball being intercepted from behind the interceptor and we could see TO, turn and walk out of the camera view and then the interceptor ran right through the space that was previously occupied by TO. Is this the desire to win that you are talking about? That bum didn’t even have the guts to run up and make the tackle. Is this how he showcases his enormous talent?

Wasn't it 31-10?

late in the 4th Q?

Quit taking that one play personally. Let it go, keysh. It’s not like it was the 1st quarter of a playoff game. He had Ryan F’in Fitzpatrick throwing him wounded ducks and was obviously frustrated.

you’re point was that these guys are pro athletes and they have pride, now you’re finding excuses. So I guess when you complain it’s OK but when I complain it’s not.

OK.

Finding excuses?

I’m just saying let that one play go, keysh. You’ve been hung up on it since it happened!

My main point was that these guys aren’t going to roll over and quit (and lose) just to get the coach fired and a better draft pick, which you seem to want them to. Sure they might get frustrated and even give in, but it won’t be to get rid of Jauron or improve their April standing….

There’s no way Parrish is starting. As it has been said before my post, Dick is coaching for his job right now. Parrish @ WR = Garbage. On top of this Steve or Hardy should be thrown in at flanker if T.O. is a no go, not Reed.

I agree get Scuba Steve in the game, please!

Premature Thoughts

Keysh if your our future GM, this post would of been more appropriate after Sunday’s game. Let’s see if Hardy even plays, and if he does, what role. DeCoy Vs 2nd Round Prodigy. Hardy didn’t exactly light things up last year when he was active.

Excuses are a sign of weakness!!!!!!

by VanScottM on Nov 13, 2009 11:41 AM EST reply actions

I know that Hardy was not good last year and that’s exactly why TO might want to let him get a game in. If whoever goes in in his place does worse than TO, then the pressure is off. If TO goes in and does poorly the pressure rises from game to game to get Hardy or Johnson in.

Given that I am fed up of being negative and there’s nothing real positive to say about our team right now, I decided to put out a crazy conspiracy theory just to pass the time. I don’t really believe this at all, just found it very odd that he suddenly has a misterious hip injury the same week Hardy goes active.

Sorry keysh67

You are “reaching” harder than sireric for an sweaty Miley Cyrus hankercheif .

T.O. hasn’t played well enough to coast. He needs to finish the season with some good games. With Edwards coming back, he probably won’t have more than a half before Edwards gets injured again or crawls back into his shell.

I know Joe, I was just playing around with this one. I am so frustrated this year it’s not funny. This is the worse offensive football in well over 20years of Bills history. It’s just horrible.
