LOL!!!! rec'd
Funny thing is if Faulk doesn’t bobble that ball, it is a first down, the Pats probably win that game, and Billy boy is a genius again. It was nice to see it happen to the Pats instead of just us for a change.

Ballsy call that backfired
Brilliant if it works, terribly stupid if it doesn’t. One of those calls where each end of the spectrum is so vastly different.

I absolutely love that guy's coaching ability (he's brilliant in so many ways), even though I hate that team...
But man oh man, that photo is like Christmas come early. What happened though, is crazy. Did he channel his inner Jauron?!

Jauron would have punted.

Every coach in the league would have punted being put in that situation except Billy
I hope the fans and media blast him a little up there. Good for Indy, they played hard to come back in that game.

For some reason I was reminded of a definition of “blunder” that baseball writer Bill James made in the 1986 Baseball Abstract when commenting on a decision in the ’85 NLCS.
A blunder is when:
1) A manager makes a controversial decision,
2) In a critical part of the game
3) That goes against the conventional wisdom of the game and
4) It doesn’t work.
Even if the numbers say that Belicheat made the right call, the above reasons is why his decision to go for it on 4th and 2 late in the game with a 6 point lead deep in his own territory is considered a blunder and is why he’s being absolutely hammered by the press right now.

The average NFL play gains more than two yards. It wasn’t a bad decision – except for that it didn’t work. :-)

Yeah, but I’d be curious how many yards the average 4th and 2 play gets. If the ball is somewhere near midfield I like the call. The first thing I thought as they lined up was that this was just arrogance and I hoped it backfired (mainly b/c I didn’t want to see that smirk on Brady’s face). Don’t get me wrong, I like aggression and going against conventional wisdom, but so deep in your own territory is just a gamble instead of a calculated risk…..a gamble in my mind is indeed a bad decision.

There's not a wide receiver who is fast enough, that J.P. Losman can't overthrow him on a fly pattern.
