Coaches or QB's
I have coached other sports but never football. Coaches are supposed to be teachers, teaching the finer points of the game, even if the players don't absorb everything at once, there should be a progression in the skill level of the players. Both JP and Trent were supposed to have promise coming out of college but they all do at that stage. JP looked like he did a steady spiral downward. This year Trent looks a lot like JP did at the end.
Could it be that the Bills coaches are destroying promising QB's (as well as other players)? Bill Walsh, who knows a few things about QB's, was high on Trent coming out of Stanford. Is it possible to draft these guys that turn out to be that bad, which would indicate poor scouting or are the coaches that bad or all of the above.
Finally, I know it won't happen but why not let Fred Jackson be the QB? I know it won't happen but what have you got to lose at this point in the season? Ryan Fitzpatrick isn't the savoir. Jackson hasn't been getting as many touches since Lynch came back and he's too good of an athlete to be sitting around on a team this bad anyway. You could really do some fun things with the Wildcat. I know its nuts but what the heck.

yes… coaches are ruining QBs on this team. I firmly believe that, and the entire culture of this team needs to be changed

As always, I think it can’t be narrowed down to one thing. I’ll say this though: rifling through offensive coordinators like they’re nicotine patches certainly isn’t helping matters.

and thats on the coaching…
MY biggest problem with the Bills now, is that they have been nearly the same team since Mularkey’s first year. Little has changed, we have few if any elite players, and our weaknesses are the same, while are strengths are hard to come by… even special teams is losing it. I can’t put my finger on it, but there is much futility

Well, yes, it’s on the coach, but not on the coaching itself.

If you mean, coaching "by itself’ than sure, I’ll grant you that the players are accountable for what happens on the field.
We just need a complete overhaul you know, and I, who have been very optimistic for a long time, am finally starting to taper off into the dark side of negativity

Fred Jackson for QB
I had the same thoughts about making Jackson the Bills QB as you did. That pass he threw in Nashville was the prettiest throw a Bills player has made in many a year. It had just the right amount of air under it, and it landed squarely in Lee Evans’ hands. The guy is so sensational at everything he does that it is certainly worth trying him out there. He could be the next Vince Young.
