Jauron considering QB change
Per the Bills website, HC Dick Jauron hasn't decided who the starting QB will be this week against the Jags. Is there really a question as to who the starter should be? Yes, Trent has underperformed compared to the expectations that were set for him but is Fitz really a better choice?
Fitz has proven to be an OK backup at best and Trent hasn't really proven anything besides being inconsistent and Captain Checkdown. We can basically put this season in the books because we're not making the playoffs. We might as well see what Trent has and make a decision in the off season.
Stats have shown that both QB's are similar so why make a change and really take away time from Trent's possible development when we know Fitz isn't our long term answer? Reading the article really bothered me. I mean we know Jauron is an idiot and couldn't coach a high school team but if he makes a switch now then we know he's really throwing the season away.
Any ideas?

Should be Edwards… and Jauron should just ride him for the rest of the season. Instill some confidence in the kid who is yet another QB-casuality Bills coaching

Agreed,
and maybe not, if TE is nervous. Jauron is a players coach, right? And what if TE does not want the job/risk?

Isn't Losman almost done with the UFL season?
If you know you’re going down you might as well make it an epic crash!

Echoes of Mangini at the start of the season
When he wouldn’t say who was starting to gain a “competitive advantage.” I wonder if this is what he’s up to. If so, the answer is the same as in Cleveland’s case: who cares? They both suck. You are not gaining a competitive advantage by making the opposing defense worry about which terrible quarterback is going to lead their popgun offense against you.

At this point it doesn't matter, Give Hamdam a shot!
Fitz and Edwards both suck even though our line sucks, give Hamdam a shot!! What could it hurt. We already suck. The only thing negative about this idea is that I think that if Trent will be the starter next year, he will need all the PT he can get. However, a new coach usually means new Q.B’s so i dont think Trent will be the man next year.

this is no surpise
everyone was trying to say during the game thread that benching Edwards had nothing to do with him getting pulled because of a QB switch but because we were blown out and Jauron was just protecting him or maybe there was an injury. Everyone needed to get real then and stay real now. He benched Edwards because he has NO faith in him. He doesnt take enough shots (dont give me that he he threw a bunch of 10-15 yarders, its not enough), he scrambled way too often, and we are 1-5 with him in!! He was benched because Jauron has seen enough.
I like Edwards I really do, but he cant perform behind this line. A lot of guys can’t but he deals with it really really poorly. Shell shocked, another QB ruined by the Bills.

not a fan of Edwards, but I feel for the kid. he’s obviously been affected by the concussions.
this year’s concussion and last year’s concussions came just as he made throws, looking down the barrel. that’s what you want in a qb, but not sure that is going to continue if he keeps getting hit like that.
if i were him, i’d be poed at the team for putting me in a hazardous situation and if i’m a qb looking for a home, i’d be wary of the bills until the team shows some real intention of protecting qbs.

I absolutely love that he thinks Fitzpatrick can do anything more.

Maybe he doesn’t (or didn’t). SOmetimes a change for change sake is all that you have left to do.

If Jauron goes with Fitz, you can go ahead and lump me in with all the DJ haters.
They’re stats are not similair. The offensive production from both of them has not been similiar. Just against Tennessee, the offense had three drives that were longer than any drive Fitz had save for the TD drive against the Jets which mostly came on the one deep pass to Edwards. For those who watched the same coverage of the Tennesee game as we did in Buffalo, you might have seen the stat that has Buffalo near the bottom of the league in 10+ play drives. That’s because Edwards has 6 in his 6 games (which is pretty bad) and Fitz has none (unless you count the muffed punt against Carolina as one drive instead of two).

I totally agree
I find it hilarious that Jauron can think Fitzpatrick is a better option. He is so terrible and has proven it enough this year. Edwards has had a few moments here and there….

Barring injury, there should be no debate:
Edwards should start over Fitzpatrick. I heard on the news last night that Bell may be done for the season. How can the team expect any QB to succeed under these conditions?

I’m not saying Edwards has been playing well, but he’s considerably better than Fitzpatrick.
That Jauron can’t see that just shows how little he knows about offense.

And if you want to go by performance both Moorman and Jackson have perfect QB ratings.
