Well we are all talking about next year and what could happen to the Bills in terms of staff and personnel. Here is an off the wall thought, since Charlie Weis is going to get fired from Notre Dame and he can coach why not pick him up. We could trade for Brady Quinn from the Browns and would have a coach and quarterback which know each other and the offensive system. We would be ahead of the game there. I think that we could get Quinn for a 3rd in 2010 and a 5th in 2011. We could also pick up a solid free agent off the street who could actually win us some games id Quinn goes down. I think this person would be Sage Rossenfels. I know some of you are saying “why him”, and it is simple he can come in and win a game or two. He is not to be our starter, period. Minnesota will think he is expendable and we could pick him up on the cheap. We could use our 1st round pick and 2nd round pick on simply one of each- OT and LB. We do not need anymore safeties, corners, wide receivers, or running backs since the last four years has given us way too many of those. We really need to invest in our line and a stud linebacker. Our d-line is not bad but our linebackers are just not cutting it.

I know we need a GM and I think that if he would want to go to Buffalo, Mike Holmgren would do nicely. He has an eye for talent and would give us a football guy in the front office.

Another thought would be to pick up Romeo Crenell (SP) as our Defensive Coordinator. He is innovative and can put guys in the right places to actually stop other teams. He could modify Defense to work in a 3-4 or a 4-3 depending on personnel. We would be better.

These are my thoughts and my pipe dream. What do you think?

hate to say it Deadpool, but I am not expert on this but there are two ways to respond to your post

First… I don’t see why they would need to hire Holmgren to be GM or pro-personnel guy when it looks like all the Bills need to do is have you dream some more :)

Second… I think we are all dreaming through the 2000’s and this decade is a terrible nightmare we so desperately need to wake up from.

Of course it could be worse… we could be the Browns (oh yeah we lost to them two years in a row)

Charlie Weis can coach? He can’t even win at Notre Dame, and has lost stunners to Syracuse, Navy (twice) and Air Force the past few years. What makes you think he could be an NFL head coach?

Have you watched Brady Quinn? Holy crap is he terrible. He makes Trent Edwards look like Joe Montana. I didn’t think it was possible for a QB to throw checkdowns more than Edwards, but Quinn somehow does it. He also gets a ton of passes batted and can’t throw the ball downfield at all. He’s terribly inaccurate on anything over 8 yards and throws wobbly passes when he actually does throw it more than 10 yards down the field. I wouldn’t trade a thing for Brady Quinn.
