Jacksonville weekend
Hi all,
I'm heading down to Jacksonville this weekend for what could be a very interesting game. Any information about cool places to go? Sights to see? Bars/restaurants? Anyone going and tailgating?
It is quite nice to approach the game with a fresh feeling. Anything could happen (but probably a loss) with the new coaching situation. As a fan, it will be great going in with the simple expectation of watching your team play.

Thanks for coming
There’s a couple sights and restaurants.
Well Jacksonville is divided in 4 parts: Westside, Southside, Northside, and the Beaches/East Side.
Sights: The Jax Zoo, Jax Beaches, The Landing, and a couple more things.
Restaurants:
Well I always find Cracker Barrel, a nice place as a tourist. Serves breakfest and other things all day long.
The Loop is a nice restaurant, good pizza, milkshakes, burgers
Ham’s, a Sports Bar with good sports food, lots of TV’s (resides in Westside)
On game day,
I can’t affirm but I think the Jacksonville Fair is still open near the Stadium. If not there’s always the pre-game things inside the stadium. the common NFL experience. I’d take a visit to this place inside the stadium called the Bud Zone. It’s a loud fun atmosphere where Drinks and sports are everything.

Nice
Thanks for the heads up. The beach is a definite destination. This will be my first trip to America’s largest (area wise) city!

I agree our Beaches are pretty good
Last time I went to Jax beaches, there were no visable signs of erosion from hurricanes, etc. So its a very nice beach compared to some of the ones further south. Also, one particular beach that i like going to is Seminole Beach, good parking near the beach, and not too crowded.

If you have the time...
check out America’s oldest city, St. Augustine…it’s not too far from jacksonville but some great history.
i’m staying in St. Augustine Friday and Saturday before heading into J-Ville for the game on Sunday.

Jax
Is a nice place. The landing is very close to the stadium. Good bars and pretty good food. Jax beach is a nice place also. Many good bars down there. I imagine you won’t be there for long, so def go to those places. Fionn mccools is a good bar, I used to go there alot. If you see a mini bus painted in teal and black, that’s my buddys tailgating spot. It’s actually a pretty cool sight to see.
