What does the signing of brohm to the active roster mean? hamdan is definitely out? or are we going with 4qb?

by quantumuprising on Nov 19, 2009 8:04 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

I would assume it’s Hamden that is out. Edwards at the least is better than Hamden and not costing the team a lot of money.

According to this link the Packers attempted to sign him off their practice squad as well and he choose the Bills instead. He clearly has a better chance to get some playing time here.

i mean, he was talked about a lot as a big prospect before his team fell apart his senior year. i don’t mind bringing in a few young qb’s just to see what potential is there

Yeah I liked him a lot coming out of college. I thought he was the second rated QB behind Ryan. Not sure what happened to him in GB.

i think there was a battle for backup behind arod after favre left between him and matt flynn from lsu. I’m guessing flynn won. I’m pretty sure brohm was their third qb, but they must have dropped him to the practice squad to avoid playing him or something.

with rodgers in place, not much hope for a third string qb in green bay.

by quantumuprising on Nov 19, 2009 8:13 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Lots of hope for a 2nd-string QB though. Rodgers is really injury-prone. I’m impressed he’s lasted this long, given how bad their line is.

Rodgers is really injury-prone.

He is? He’s started all 25 games since taking over. I know he got hurt during limited action in 2007, but I wouldn’t exactly call him injury-prone because of it.

some very important, telling quotes from the carucci article:

The Bills, the source said, are willing to offer whatever salary is necessary to land a high-end candidate such as Shanahan and would give him total control of the football operation, something Wilson has generally been opposed to doing in the past.
This is his (Wilson’s) last coach and (he) is going to do everything it takes to get it right," the source said of the 91-year-old owner.

that second one is both important and scary to me…i know its been an issue for a while, but we may be even closer than we think to having the problem we’ve been trying to avoid for years….

Also, ZOMG we are practicing in pads!!!!!! what a revelation!

At 24 years old, I’m feeling out of touch with “ZOMG.” What the hell does the Z stand for?

Bill Polian and AJ Smith are gone, so there's not the usual balance between "sane" and "others." Ralph has mentally checked out since 1994. It's a very dangerous time. The coalition for reason is extremely weak.

it doesn’t stand for anything as far as i know. its just an artistic (read: extremely nerdy) way of saying omg in a ridiculous fashion. Pretty sure most of the people i got it from play WOW

Z is right next to the Shift key. If typing in an excited way, it’s possible to have clipped the Z key when HOLDING THE SHIFT KEY FOR EMPHASIS.

Wilson's last coach?

The average lifespan of a head coach seems to be 3 years. It’s very possible that Wilson lives well into his 90’s.

What does everyone see in this guy? I wonder if Trent’s on the phone with Jauron trying to get him to bring him along at his next stop (yes, there will be a next stop, though Edwards might have to play at the college level).
