I feel bad for Fewell – guys got no chance with these backups. Imagine when we play NE or Atlanta. Things might get really ugly for us

Yeah, I just shake my head and laugh along with the injury news each week.
I signed up for Second Life about a year ago. Back then my life was so great that I literally wanted a second one. In my Second Life I was also a paper salesman and I was also named Dwight. Absolutely everything was the same. Except I could fly. - Dwight Schrute

This isn't the first year either.
We’ve had some major injury problems the last few years: Schobel, Poz, K. Mitchell etc.

OMG
Seriously, you lose another LB, so you promote a CB? Go find someone to fill that hole.

Whitner maybe? Byrd and Wilson at safety. Scott and Whitner as OLB?
hahahahahahahaahaha – someone tell me that’s going to happen

lol – know what just hit me? Byrd might not even play.
wouldn’t it be amazing if it were Wilson and Wendling with Scott and Whitner as our OLB.

We’d have only had 3 corners on Sunday if we hadn’t promoted Harris. This was a necessary move this week.

Ha Cary Harris finally makes the big team.........
but why fill the void of a LB with a CB?

Surprised that with Stroud out and Williams questionable they didn’t sign a DT instead of Harris.

I wonder if Cary Harris coming up has more to do with McGee then it does Ellison… no matter how it goes I am almost glad I can’t get this team on the TV…

Honestly, throw Nic Harris and Ashlee Palmer in the fire. They did earlier in the season and then pulled them. Our LBs can’t get worse than rookies, so what the hell. I can’t understand putting Scott at LB. The young guys need the reps, especially Harris. I feel that he could be a SAM in the 4-3 or a MLB in a 3-4(due to the safety experience) with some added experience and weight.
I’d rather have a Cover 3 or Nickle scheme if Whitner and Byrd are good to go.

Maybe when U.B.‘s season is over, they can come and play for the Bills. Couldn’t be much worse.
Anyone know the grand total of players on IR?

just laugh guys just laugh
because this has to be a sporting record for the highest percentage of roster injuries to a team in one year.

I kind of doubt that
Maybe if you add the past 3ish years together you’d have a tough time finding a team with comparable season ending injuries but I think Buffalo had more in one season two years ago.
I echo those who wonder about bringing in a DB. Buffalo has already been reduced to playing DBs at LB. Why not, just maybe, use LBs to play LB?

well im thinking all injuries causing players to miss time not just season ending
at one point or another, at the midway point of hte season our injury count includes (and not listing guys who have missed multiple games for different injuries):
Poz, Stroud, McGee, B. Scott, J. Scott, Whitner, McKelvin, Youboty, Byrd, Schobel, Kawika, Ellison, Buggs, K. Williams, Butler, Bell, Meredith, Hardy, Nelson, Fine, Schouman, Edwards off the top of my head. I’m sure im missing some guys.

Dont like to see players get hurt
However, Ellison is bad. Hopefully we get to see some Nic Harris.
By the way, how many total IR’s is that?? Did we break our own record yet? lol
This training staff needs to go ASAP

Really?
It has nothing to do with the training staff!! A torn knee is a torn knee and there is nothing a training staff can do about that! It’s just bad luck!

strains and pulls can be prevented. having a 300+ guy fall on you the wrong way can’t. there have been plenty of injuries that could have been prevented and plenty that haven’t. The last three years cannot completely be “unlucky.” Have you noticed Fewells new approach? Practice with the pads on. This team is not tough, and not aggressive, which also contributes to some of their injuries. I am not saying I know everything yet about injuries but I start med school soon =).

Total Bills on Injured Reserve this year vs. Total Bills Offensive Touchdowns (+2)
by Xavier W on Nov 20, 2009 6:43 PM EST reply actions 1 recs
This is ridiculous already, but…
I used to think it had to be something with the training staff. One…two…three years in a row a never ending run of injuries, from minor to serious. But someone pointed it out to me that the Bills were near or just above the middle of the pack in man games lost to injuries over the last two years. And then I spoke with a guy from the Sabres. He just had this to say – football is such a violent game, and the guys are so big and fast. But again – three years in a row. My God already.
by krytime on Nov 20, 2009 7:42 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
It can't be just bad luck
not every year, so either the Bills are doing something wrong or other teams are in the same boat but we just don’t focus on it.

While we ended up with 17 guys on IR last year, we still have another 8 weeks to break that record
This could get real ugly real fast…..

everyone seems tentative
and unsure of themselves either because of lack of talent or lack of coaching. Either way, when you play tentative, you get hurt.
Then there is the “TO” injury style…like the 3 day flu, he gets the 3 day “hip” that miraculously heals when the weeks’ practices are over and it’s game time. Not so miraculous is his performance, route running, sure-handedness and the other skills that evolve from practicing with your teammates.
by fansince60 on Nov 20, 2009 9:50 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Im not a TO fan
But you can’t question his work ethic. He works hard. His body language may say other….but he works hard. How else could he be 36 and still in good shape. Maybe the production isnt there this year, but I will put that on the QB. Evans doesnt even have good stats and we all know lee is a proven WR. Maybe not top 15 in the league, but teams were drooling at the possibility of him hitting free agency.
7 games and counting!!!

Understand bringing Harris up
There are no healthy CB’s it seems.
Do we still have Anthony Waters on the PS? I want to see him get a chance to play even though he’s a MLB…

I'm ok with this
We clearly had a logjam at LB. Too many guys who deserve to be starting. It stinks for Ellison, but at least this happened at a position where we have a lot of depth.

preseason
Looks like preseason 2010 has started in earnest. Can the Bills develop talent without the players having a career threatening knee injuries? Are we going for bulk discounts on knee surgeries?

Maybin?
Can we put Maybin in at WLB? Please just to get some use out of him, season’s pretty much over. I’m so tired, so very tired, our top draft pick is like my TO jersey, I get no use out of it. Can’t we at least have some fun with these last few games and go all Replacements on the end of the season. Speaking of which what it would cost to get Keanu Reeves to play quarterback?
by MichiganBillsFan84 on Nov 21, 2009 6:31 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Maybin is a liability against the run and has never dropped into coverage. The only thing he could do is rush the QB which I wouldn’t have a problem with. I just don’t see it happening.
