I would love Haslett as new HC
- Coaches solid defense and running game which we know is the formula for the weather and fans in OP.
- Motivates players - look what he did with a mediocre Saints team. He had no talent on the Rams when they put him in as Interim and the team played hard for him every week. Somehow has the only team any good in UFL.
- Lots of experience coaching on many levels and teams and is ready to put it together finally. Let's face it, most coaches have failures before success ie. Levy, Belichick
- Played in Buffalo - was defensive captain and understands our fans!
He is really my number one choice and I wanted him when he was hot and in demand but already working when Jauron was hired.

I couldn’t disagree more. Jim Haslett is essentially another Dick Jauron – a career loser, who was known for making mind-boggling decisions during games in New Orleans. Yeah, he might be fiery and more audacious than Jauron, but I would still view it as a terrible, terrible choice, and I can promise you the fanbase won’t like it.
We’ve had to accept mediocrity the last ten years, because of our cheap owner, who thought he knew how to run a football team.
This needs to change this year. I don’t care if it means we have to give Shanahan or Cowher 8 million bucks a year, then so be it, because we Bills-fans can’t stand anymore of these experiments at HC. We need in the very profound sense of the word a true winner, who knows how to build a strong team.
Haslett doesn’t by any stretch resemble that.

Exactly. We don’t need another coordinator who is in over his head at head coach – that’s what the Bills have had for quite a few years. Haslett has two winning seasons in the NFL and a career winning percentage of 0.435 – just a shade ahead of Jauron; his undefeated season in the UFLjust doesn’t count. Contrast that to Cowher or Shanahan – both have 9+ winning seasons, and a career winning percentage over 0.600.

Ditto
Thanks for saving me the time of having to talk about his game management. I’m not going to lie, I didn’t watch many Saints games when he coached, but i seem to remember his teams (and him) crumbling in tough games and at the end of games.

Rumored
We almost had him before Jauron. He wanted no part of working with then #1 draft pick J.P. Loosman. New he wasn’t the answere so he would of been in a bad situation right from the beginning. Possibly not the best choice available but I wouldn’t mind having him either as long as he is paired with a GM that can work his deficiencies.

Jim Haslett
Jim Haslett, is not even a good defensive coordinator let alone a head coach. I liked him when he played for the Bills, but a coach who the Bills organization need at this time to turn this team around? The Bills need a winner and not a retread coordinator.

Blood is Thicker than Water.
What if Gruden, Shanahan, Cower don’t want anything to do with the Bills. Do we roll the dice with someone like a CFL coach or maybe a coordinator from an organization like the Cowboys or the Patriots. Haslett is worth serious consideration.

If I recall correctly, the last two times we rolled the dice on ppl comming from the CFL we were big winners (Flutie and Levy). And as a BIG CFL fan let me tell you that Marc Trestman is to TOP NOTCH head coach and if its not us that give him a head coaching job in the NFL its going to be someone else 2 or 3 years down the road. And while I’d much rather we sign on Trestman as a coordinator, do not make the mistake of dismissing him just because he’s a CFL product.

CFB.....good to hear from you
Finally let you out of jail, eh :-) Would Trestman be a good OC or DC?

CFL
No need to defend the CFL. A successfull league and obviously in the sights of all 32 NFL franchises. Trestman was obviously mentioned and I am sure it is deserved. The fact that he was even a thought is testament enough for his creditials. I am just showing support for Haslett whom used to roam the fields at OBD Vs calling him a retread coordinator.

Welcome back CBF!
Thanks!
And totally understood for Trestman.
As for Haslett, I wouldn’t mind seeing him as the OC. But I don’t think that he’s the answer at OC.

From what I hear about Trestman – he is even more low key than Jauron. Fans would hate that.

#2 The Rams played hard for Haslett... not true
Rams won their first two games for Haslett when he took over the Linehan (who was a highly regarded OC and ended up being a really bad as a HC). Then the Rams lost every game after (I think it was their last 6 or 7) and were blown out in a majority of those games.
Haslett’s defenses in St. Louis were walked all over too even though year after year they drafted DL with their #1 picks.
Please no on Haslett

from memory, the Rams had a slew of injuries, yet ask the sportswriters – it was a different team under Haslett and for the first time all season, played hard. He didn’t tolerate players taking plays off and they thought he got a raw deal that he wasn’t given more consideration for the HC job

Are you his agent? Look where he’s working now.

No way Haslett
We have the makings of a good defense if they can stay on the field.
We need an HC who has a clue, who can fix this offense. I would be willing to look at Trestman if he really has a plan to fix this offense and we can’t get Shanahan..
We really need a coach who has a vision for this offense,
There's not a wide receiver who is fast enough, that J.P. Losman can't overthrow him on a fly pattern.

I honestly think that the Ralph’s pecking order is Gruden, Shanahan, Trestman. So you may very well be right about Trestman being the next step after Shanny.
And let me tell you that Trestman has a terrific offencive mind and has been great with every single QB that he’s had under his wing.

How can you possibly know or think Trestman is third on the list? Adam Schefter floated the name at the same time he threw out Kevin Gilbride who has a snowball’s chance in hell to be the Bills HC next year.

And it’s important to realize that a lot of these names are coming up simply because they are guys who could be hired in the next few months. People aren’t talking about coordinators and GMs because Buffalo can’t talk about coordinators and GMs. For all we know, Buffalo has some random coordinator very high on the wishlist, but can’t do anything about it for a long time.
I signed up for Second Life about a year ago. Back then my life was so great that I literally wanted a second one. In my Second Life I was also a paper salesman and I was also named Dwight. Absolutely everything was the same. Except I could fly. - Dwight Schrute
