Eric Wood has a fractured tibia and fibula
According to Chris Brown from BuffaloBills.com:
"Bills OL Eric Wood has a fractured tibia and fibula and is staying in Jacksonville tonight.
Wood is having surgery to re-set the bones. He’s expected back in Buffalo on Monday.
With six weeks left in the season its likely that Wood’s injury is season ending. We’ll get the official update Monday at Perry Fewell’s wrap up press conference."

Well there were calls of Theismanesque career ending injury, so this is good news… kinda.

very bad news… hate to see young guys hurt like this in early in their career. Could set him back big time, when he needs his first offseason in the NFL s bad as any one

It’s not his knee or ankle so I have hope he will be fine. Nick Hennessey and Xavier Omon anyone? Wood to IR, Harris back to PS. I’m callin it now.

Their practice squad
If the Bills really want him they can re-sign him to their active roster….I suppose

I’d rather we re-sign Rhodes as our third RB then go after Omon again.

Good news
I Actually think this is the best injury that could have happened based on what I saw. I have no doubt he will be fine next year. It is a real shame though… Ever game provides an opportunity to learn something. Oh well… I guess he will have lots of time for film study.

Derp
With six weeks left in the season its likely that Wood’s injury is season ending.
Understatement of the day.
There could be more to it than just broken bones. We have to hope that there isn’t significant nerve damage because that looked like very significant fracture.

It could be pretty bad still especially if there were multiple breaks?
I would imagine that he will have a lot of pins and plates put in to keep the bones in place and to help promote healing. My wife did her ankle with 3 breaks… 9 screws and a plate later it took about a year for her to heal 100%. With the best of training and working out, I hope that Eric would be ready by the start of training camp next summer…

Here's to hope
I’m a Jags fan, but I felt I should show my support for Wood. I love OL players and he was one of the players I had looked into when I wanted to research picks for the Jags. I had hoped he’d fall to the second and we could steal him.
I do hope that this was a clean break. It’ll help the healing and it won’t hurt his play as much, though injuries like this often set players back a year or two. I do hope he will be alright to play next season for you guys.

Wood is going to be the stud of the interior line for 10 years...
… and I still hope that.
Get well bro. That was brutal and you took that like a man.
Nasty.
I had my ankle exploded in High School when my stupid offensive tackle got bull rushed (because he didn’t know the play) and rolled up on my leg behind me. That was severe pain.
I cannot imagine what Eric felt. My prayers are with you and your family.

Through all the losses and bad times, I have to say seeing Wood go down like that was the worst part of the season for me so far.
Bills fan? In Colorado? It's more likely than you think.

agreed......I can't believe all the injuries
I think Polian must have put a curse on the Bills when he left. Anyone know where we can get a live Buffalo to sacrifice on the 50 yards line? Or, maybe we should use a Dolphin ??? Preferably, Nick Buoniconti :-)

I think a broken bone is a better long term prognosis than an ACL if there's no
damage to the ligaments.

I agree with that. But as breaks go this one is pretty bad.

Agreed, but if it’s only broken bones he should be at 100% before next year’s draft. I’m just hoping that this doesn’t affect his confidence as a player and doesn’t set him back too much.

What are the feeding these players?
Thje injuries since Jauron got here are unreal.
Are they feeding these guys a steady diet of flouride, gmo food, cloned meat and diet pepsi and coke?
This is unreal.
There's not a wide receiver who is fast enough, that J.P. Losman can't overthrow him on a fly pattern.

And yet they replayed McGahee’s college injury over and over and over and over again every single game during his first season. It got so that as soon as they made the segue, I had flipped the channel for about 45 seconds.

I had a physiotherapy appointment this morning, and just for fun, I asked him what his pronosis on Wood would be based on it being a “fractured tibia and fibula”. He said it could be anything from 100% by training camp 2010 or career-ending, depending on the type of fractures and where in the bone they were located. It is all just speculation at this point until we hear more details on what sort of fractures these were. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
