Thanks Bills Fans (from a Jag fan)
Though we haven’t had as much interaction as I’m use to on SBnation this past week, you guys truly are some of the best fans in the league. You guys are loyal to your team, knowledgeable and look on the bright side. Seriously – I feel for you guys. You are in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL and have more injuries than a bread factory has rolls. ’
I actually enjoyed the game a lot today. It had suspense. Sure, I had wanted the Jags to win with 250+ yards rushing and 40+ points… but I love hard fought games even more. Reminds me of football before replay.
I’m praying for Wood and that nasty break, and do hope the Bills can turn it around next year. A team like yours and with you fans deserves that, and a good HC. One can hope, right?
The only play I didn’t like in the whole game was that face mask on MJD. Don’t remember your player’s name… but the slamming of a player to the ground by the face mask is inexcusable and unbelievable, even if it was to save a TD (which came anyway)… so that’s my only complaint, and it is against one player – not the fans or the teams.
Until next to we play, seeya. :)
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

It was Poszluzny, and if you watch the replay you can see he immediately gets up and goes over to Jones-Drew to see if he’s alright. I mean, that was one of the worst facemasks I’ve seen all season, but I’m not going to fault him for playing hard and trying to bring a guy down considering the way the offseason’s likely to play out with everyone fighting for their job. It was certainly an accident on his part and it seems he apologized and checked on MJD right away.
Thanks for the kind words. Looking back on our past few games against the Jags, this matchup seems to have a history of good, tight, hard-fought games. We got you at the last second last year, you got us this year. Hopefully we meet again soon.
You guys have a talented team, and I always forget how solid Garrard is when discussing quarterbacks in the NFL. I was definitely surprised with how accurate he was today with some of his throws and how well he moves out of the pocket when he needs to.
Good luck the rest of the way.
I haven’t had a chance to see the play close. I only saw a shot of it in a replay – couldn’t watch the game, as it was blacked out. So if he did apologize after and went to make sure MJD was alright, I didn’t see. I’ll look into that if I do get to see the game.
Indeed. The INT came off of a great tip by one of your players. Many Jags fans fault Garrard, saying his is inconsistent. But he is indeed one of the more dangerous QBs in the league when he is hot.

Very Nice Comments
One good thing that Bills fans can take away from this game is that when a playoff contending team playing at home on a beautiful day only draws 40,000 fans…
the Bills are not the most likely team to relocate.
Nothing against Jacksonville, but the stadium looked like the Rogers Centre in Toronto during an Argos game.
I don’t see the Jags moving any time soon, though I don’t see Buffalo moving, either. Truthfully, the only team that makes sense to move is the Rams. But I don’t know. We’ll see.

I doubt that LA wants the Rams back, especially since they suck right now. LA is a bunch of prudes who would only take a GOOD team. :)

haha
L.A. is about the last place I’d call prudish. They are however a terrible sports town where NFL franchises have gone to die. Everyone loves the Lakers and the Dodgers, but I know the magic word that snaps people back into the reality: Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers are the embodiment of L.A.’s many failings as a sports city, and probably a city too.
L.A. sees all of the attention, excitement, money, and recognition the league has, and feels that it is “entitled” to have a part in it.
As for a team moving there, it’s all conjecture at this point and it’s pretty rude to say oh Jacksonville is going to move when a Jacksonville fan says your some of the best fans in the league.
L.A. will get a team but it will be a sad day for whoever loses their franchise to a bunch of self-absorbed, sunburned, hipsters.

Everyone bandwagons the Lakers and the Dodgers
Fixed that for you. If at any point in the future the Clippers overtake the Lakers in skill… There will suddenly be NO Lakers fans out there.

The Clippers don’t fail because of LA. They fail because of some of the worst ownership in sports.

Why does the phrase “worst ownership” not surprise me when this team began as a team from Buffalo?

Yes but why should the ownership put together a good team when nobody attends the games?

I think the Clippers are a perfect example of fans not wanting to waste their money on a team that they know wont go anywhere because of horrible ownership. It’s comparable to the New York Islanders or my defunc CFL Ottawa Rough Riders (folded in 1997) and Ottawa Renegades (folded in 2005). Both teams had great products, but we knew that the owners would duck and run first chance they had, so we didn’t both.
Getting a good ownership group behind a team makes all the difference when it comes to fans’ confidence in their team.

This is exactly what happened when they where in Buffalo
The Braves did really well for a period of time, and drew solid crowds. Then one season the ownership basically dismantled the team (ala Florida Marlins). When people stopped going to the games, the ownership said “look Buffalo’s not a basketball town, the people won’t support the team” and they packed up. Thirty years later, we see that Buffalo wasn’t a bad basketball town, and you can’t use poor attendance as a cop out.

Just goes to show that if an owner wants to move a team, he’ll find a way to justify it.
Simplest way: make the team suck and blame it on the fans when they don’t show up.
Another great example of this in the Montreal Expos. The had 30 000+ in attendance for 20 years, then the owner decided he wanted to move the team, and sold off all of its good players. By the time they left Montreal, they only had about 2000 fans show up for each game. Now they are the Washington Nats.

….and still only get 2000 per game.
