I did not name every quarterback that started a game but left out only a few with Frank Reich, career back up, being the most notable. Here’s my take on the list. There have been three stable eras: Kemp, Ferguson and Kelly. Since Kelly, as we all know, it has been chaos with nine starting quarterbacks. Of those nine, 4 were drafted and 5 were either trades or free agents. Of the 4 drafted, there was one each from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounds. All were busts. All trades, FAs were busts (Flutie?). Throughout their history the Bills have only taken 3 quarterbacks in the first round and 2 were busts. Until Flutie the Bills only went the trade/FA route once and that was Kemp.
I don’t have a strong opinion on what OBD will do to attempt to solve what amounts to the biggest problem in managing a professional sports franchise. I do have a hard time imagining that they will pay top dollar to a name brand coach and top dollar for an early 1st round qb pick. If, god forbid, the current front office is making the qb call I am confident they will get it wrong.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

This is why i would go with a FA vet
and give Brohm a chance till a better option is available in a draft. We have a lot of other holes to fill this coming off season.

Dont kid yourself man, we signed Brohm to be a back. He’s a step down from both Edwrads and Fitzy right now.

Pike in the second or Claussen if he slips to us, those are the only 2 QB’s I’d touch in the first 3 rounds of this year’s draft.

I think id take Pike over Claussen
I hope this draft if big…..it’s so far away

I’d go best available LT in the first, hopefully Okung or Davis, and Pike in the second.

yeah,
Then a LB
Thinking about the Wood injury is so painful, With him and Levitre, Bell and a 1st round rook we could have something

Deffinatly.
Although if Spikes falls the the second (very unlikely I know) I don’t see how we could pass on him.

Flutie was 21-7 as a starter
That ain’t bad!
As for this year, I agree about giving Brohm a good look under game conditions. What do we have to lose? It also will help determine if we need to a draft a highly-rated QB.
I agree
Fkutie save this franchise when Ralph was talking bad things if he didn’t sell out the club seats.
There's not a wide receiver who is fast enough, that J.P. Losman can't overthrow him on a fly pattern.

Brohm
is not even remotely in the picture. I would love to be wrong about that but the facts say “remote project.”
Agreed
QBs that are ready to step in and contribute are NOT signed off practice squads.

I wouldn’t go so far as calling Flutie and Bledsoe “Busts”.

Flutie did. Then Ralph and/or Phillips went crazy and played Johnson.

Flutie did. Then the coaching staff screwed up because Flutie payed badly in 1 game and though he lost it. They were idiots.

flutie really saved ralph,
by coming through when we needed him.

Yes, and probably one of them would’ve gotten even further if not for one Wade Phillips (or ralph, depending on whose story you’d believe)

Flutie got them to the playoffs 2 years in a row. He lost in a poor game at Miami.

2010 should be a year to finish building the offensive and rebuild the front seven on defense. I haven’t seen any college quarterbacks entering the 2010 draft that I like, but don’t sit in front the TV all day Saturday’s to watch. I kind of like Zach Frazier from UConn that will be in the 2011 draft. He has all the tools, but needs another year in school.
I'm all in
On Jake Locker

Well, Locker is pretty much 100% agreed upon by almost everyone. There’s also a few QB’s that I think have potential to be diamonds in the rough in Lefevour, Pike and Mallett, although Mallett will definitely need a year to sit and learn. (Maybe he can play in the UFL :P)

Zach Frazer
Zach played at a local high school near me, before going to ND and then transferring to UConn to get playing time. How sweet it was for him this weekend to WIN against his old team, and the guy who benched him for Claussen, good ol’ Charlie!
