How long did it take Shanahan to win 2 straight Super Bowls after
Arriving in Denver? Yeah, but he had John Elway? Jimmy Johnson wins 2 straight Super Bowls and then went to Miami and did nothing. He had Dan Marino. This could very easily happen to all these over paid over hyped coaches. Cowher, Gruden, Dungy, Holmgren, Fisher, Weiss... Like I say I would pay them $500,000 guaranteed and the rest on incentives. Holmgren and Cowher and Gruden and Dungy and Fisher wasted their City's time. The bar has been raised to 2 straight Super Bowls after 5 years of taking over a franchise. If a coach can't accomplish that their worth only $2-3 million a year if they're lucky. I'd tell them $500,000 guaranteed. If you coach for a whole season that's another $1 million. If your record is better than 8-8 that's another $1 million. Then $1 million for each playoff game won. And then $2 million for winning the Super Bowl.
Boo-Hoo, I have to produce? I just want to jerk a city and it's fans around for 10 years. I wanna be a Fisher or Gruden or Cowher or Holmgren or Dungy. I wanna be paid $8-10 million for showing up.
Now, let's talk business. They estimate the Bills are worth $700 million. That will go up automatically probably $200 million when the DirectTV contract runs out, and a fan will be able to buy all NFL games through cable or being streamed on the internet to their HDTV television set. That should increase the sales of NFL games since it is more convenient. People pay for UFC and WWE. But being able to buy a game on cable or more than likely streaming from the internet on your TV such as through Netflix or YouTube, revenues will go through the roof. Can you say international fan base and market?
If the Bill will 2 straight Super Bowls, the price of the franchise would probably increase $200-400 million. In other words, we're talking window dressing in order to place the franchise in a position to get the highest price when it is put up for sale. I believe this is why their is an urgency to shore up the franchise. Fix up the property before it is put up for sale. What's an extra $50 million over 5 years when it may return an extra $200-400 million when sold?
Oh, Jake Plummer was an established star before Denver got him. He had lead Arizona State to the Rose Bowl. The Arizona Cardinals to the Playoffs. And did Ok in Denver but not great. He was very inconsistent. But it was entertaining to watch. Same with Cutler. Entertaining but inconsistent at times. Plummer I think re-evaluated his life after his teammate at Arizona State and the Arizona Cardinals, Pat Tillman, lost his life in Afghanistan. He made millions and maybe decided life is too short and precious to play anymore. Gruden begged him to play for Tampa Bay but he refused to end his retirement.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

You wouldn't get one of these coaches with your demands...
a coach with ring(s) is going to be respected enough and have enough bargaining power to have demands of their own…and those sadly would not mesh with yours…so no deal. While I am not interested in a coach who garners $10 mil-house just for showing up, each of the people you mentioned coached teams of (and to) relevance (maybe not every year, but there is a reason they are household names at HC). If the worth of the Bills goes up when Direct TV runs out, won’t every franchise be able to capitalize on this as well, so nothing will really change except the franchise is worth more money on paper than it was? Where were you going with Jake the Snake?…I totally lost you there…if it was some allusion to free agency, I think most of the bloggers here know we need to draft a franchise QB…but again, no idea where that was going…
Bills are estimated at over $900M.
I really doubt we’ll see anyone other than Directv offering the Ticket any time soon, unless Congress gets involved. You really think that company is just going to bow out or get outbid when Sunday Ticket is keeping them going strong???

Holmgren and Cowher and Gruden and Dungy and Fisher wasted their City’s time.

I know – all they did was win games

Winning isn't everything to InSinCity.
Getting close and not spending money that isn’t his is. And I love how the coaches are “just showing up” for the money.
