Kelly: Bills should target Tebow; He wants to be part of ownership
I am a big fan of Jim Kelly not only what he did on the field for the Bills in our glory years, but for the type of ambassador he has been for his foundation and even more so for his continued support and passion for being a Bills Fan like us and wanting to see our team return to their glory days. I proposed back a month ago that the Bills needed Kelly in their FO as a consultant for their next QB draft choice

Now it is nice to read this article by Jim Corbett in the USA Today with Kelly commenting on who he believes should lead the team from the QB position in the future. I certain don't know how much "expert analysis" Kelly did for making that statement about Tebow. But one thing I do trust and respect about his analysis is that Kelly can probably measure a QB's tenacity and heart for wanting to lead a team and be successful... Tebow might not have all the best mechanics in the world, but the guy is tough as nails, and has proven to be a winner in the games toughest conference in college football. Plus the fact that he is another Floridian QB and not someone we try from Cally.
Also if Jim is such a passion fan/consultant/supporter of Wilson and the Bills franchise, I'd have no problem having him run our team and keeping them in Buffalo for the long term. He is probably the most vocal and best person to lead this effort for keeping the Bills in the future. The guy loves Buffalo and for that I am THANKFUL for Jim Kelly and his passsion for the fans of the Buffalo Bills and our community.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Nice find dabillsr1
I love me some Jim Kelly. He is the only reason I have any hope the Bills stay in WNY. If Kelly thinks Tebow can be the man, that is good enough for me. We will have to take him higher than most think he should go, with our first pick, or trade up to get him, because there is little chance Tebow lasts until the Bills pick in round 2.
I think Polian must have put a curse on the Bills when he left. Anyone know where we can get a live Buffalo to sacrifice on the 50 yards line? Or, maybe we should use a Dolphin ??? Preferably, Nick Buoniconti

First things first: I love Jim Kelly and respect his oppinion
Second: I really like tim Tebow for 4 reasons:
1. LEADERSHIP, LEADERSHIP, oh and did I say LEADERSHIP
2. He has the arm strength, hell, he is like 6’3" 240 lbs.
3. Great Character: he spends more time helping kids than he spends with his hot GF
4. HE IS TOUGH! He knows how to take a hit. (I know he has a concusion but he is still taking hits like a champ)
Now, I understand that he has a slow release and needs help with mechanics, but what QB doesnt. Honestly, I know he is no Brady or Manning, but the last time i checked ROETHLISBERGER has more SB rings than Manning. And Tebow reminds me of a spitting image of Roethlisberger. Both can manage a team, and both can take a hit!
And the best part is that we can get him probably in the second round, which means we can go OT or NT in the draft in the first round while still getting a top rated QB
I can do all things through he whom gives me strength. Philippians 4:13

The Bills would be extremely lucky to get Tebow in the 2nd round

I wouldn't mind Tebow in round 2
Tebow wills his teams to win, and that’s something I haven’t seen any bufalo quarterback do since Kelly. Tebow will go down as one of the greatest college players ever simply for that reason. He’s a national championship winner, a leader, and an amazing person to boot. Although his mechanics are a bit unorthodox, plenty of firey quarterbacks have had success in the NFL with wonky mechanics (Rivers, Roethlisberger)

I'm not to big of a Tebow fan
I don’t watch much college footbal, starting to watch more this year and really haven’t looked at the prospects.
But I dont like college QB’s who can run there way out of bad situations. Not to many translate into franchise QB’s. I think it is a great assest that gets abused. So instead of making a tough throw, they tend to scramble.
7 games and counting!!!

Here’ my Tebow take: He wins because he is Superman in college. He won’t be superman in the NFL and isn’t good enough of a passer to be successful that way.

Soooooooooo, Tebow has peaked already? He can't get any better than he is right now?

Glad that I wasn’t the first one to say it.

I never called it peaking. I said his physical abilities let him run over, through, and around people in the SEC. In the NFL everybody is as big or bigger than the guys in the SEC, faster, stronger than those guys. He’s relied on his physical skills to be successful. Too many guys can’t make that transition to the NFL.

isn’t good enough of a passer to be successful that way.

Yeah. But in the college game every team has holes. You find that hole and exploit it. (no jokes, Joe) In the NFL teams don’t have the holes to fill like in college. Every player is better, as good, or almost as good as you. There will be guys that are as fast as Tebow and as big as him in the linebacker corps he will be trying to run against.

But the Bills have a lot of holes
and even though the difference between the physical abilities of players is not as wide in the NFL as in college, they still exist an have an effect. The NFL is a game in inches, while college ball is a game of yards. You said yourself that Tebow has the physical skills. We he have to fix his mechanics and stop running the ball as much? Yes. Is he smart enough to make that adjustment? I think he can.

Of course he has physical skills. He’s probably the greatest college player ever. So was Christian Laettner (at least until Hansborough came along). That doesn’t make him a great pro.
