Think Tim Tebow Is the spitting Image of Rothlisberger?
I don't, I think Jake Locker is.
Here's some highlights from 2007.

Couldn't possibly disagree more
I’m a MAC fan, a Bowling Green grad who watched Roethlisberger annihilate the best BG team in recent memory twice in a month back in ‘03. Ben was otherworldly, impossible to stop, made every throw imaginable, didn’t make mistakes – a winner. Dammit, I hated him, but it was jealousy. He was in-fricking-credible. A machine.
Locker is physically similar to Roethlisberger, but he’s scatter-armed (52% career completion rate), throws a bunch of picks (25 in essentially two years as a starter), and has never won more than three games in a season. I understand it’s a team game and he’s played for miserable teams, but I’m just not sure what he does that’s good.
He’s a big, strong, tough guy. Credit where credit is due. He’s just not a good QB, IMO.
He's playing tougher competition then Ben.
His offensive line looks like ours.
Actually I consider Locker a cross between Rothlisberger, Elway, and Rivers…
I see elements of each of their games in him.
He needs work on the passing, but the talent around him is terrible which deserves note.
His football instinct is just incredible.
Surround him with some talent…..he will be a superstar in the NFL.
I personally think locker is the only QB worth drafting in the top 20 picks of next years draft.

He needs work on the passing
See, to me this is a dealbreaker, especially if you’re talking about him as a first rounder, as being the spitting image of a guy with two Super Bowl rings at age 26.
He’s got potential. Like I said, he’s a big kid, good arm strength, good athlete, and everybody seems to think he’s an excellent leader. But man…if he’s got to work on passing…yeesh.
When you play for a team with no other pro talent.
It’s all on you, he beat USC with less talent around him…..something Clausen couldn’t do.

Washington won that game 16-13. It was a great performance by Locker, but let’s not pretend like it’s game that Locker could have won if USC had their starting QB out there and had a typical offensive performance. I’m not sure how Locker and his crappy offense scoring 16 points is any more impressive than Clausen and Notre Dame’s good, but still overmatched group (Floyd didn’t play against USC) scoring 27 points and coming just short of another TD on the final drive.

And as for Rothlisberger
He may have 2 superbowl rings, but ge didn’t light up the stats. How many times has he lead the league in passing ZERO!
We need talent.
And Locker is top of my list for QB prospects who would be a good fit for the Bills.

I didn’t realize that you needed to lead the league in passing yards to have good stats. Who has the highest career yards per attempt of Roethlisberger, Peyton Manning, Brady and Brees? The answer is Roethlisberger. He may not throw 30 TDs a season or chuck the ball 40 times a game like some other teams ask their QBs to do, but Roethlisberger has pretty elite stats.

Pretty funny that at the 3 minute mark, Locker is out-stripping Jairus Byrd. Dude is fast.

out-stripping
You mean out sprinting? C’mon Brian, you’re supposed to be the guy who keeps this blog clean!

He is fast
4.59/40 exceptional for a quarterback when matched with his football instinct.

This would be a video of Locker’s freshman season. It’d be nice if I could completely forget how badly he crushed Syracuse in his first college game. The guy has got 7 career victories and one of them is a 30 point romping of my favorite team.

Jake Locker is just a terrific playmaker, who can make all the throws, is tough as nails, a fantastic athlete, has a strong arm and is very poised. I hope the Bills pick him fifth.

me too
I don’t know if it will be fifth, but he is our best hope in the draft for a QB for what we have in place,

I am confused.....is Locker a QB or a RB??????
because it seems like half of these highlights show him running with the ball. And when he does throw it, at what point does he make more than 2 reads? If those highlights were supposed to convince me that Locker is better than Tebow…..well, you better keep looking for more highlights.
I think Polian must have put a curse on the Bills when he left. Anyone know where we can get a live Buffalo to sacrifice on the 50 yards line? Or, maybe we should use a Dolphin ??? Preferably, Nick Buoniconti
That was his freshman season highlights.
More to come…..

I can’t help but think that that running style will get him killed in the NFL. Still looks impressive though.

I’ve been against Tebow since he won the Heisman!

To be fair
I think we have to ignore the highlights vs. SU. That’s like the Bills lightng it up vs. the Browns……oh wait….

Jake Locker is the type of player other guys rally around.
He’ll do well in the NFL, I think.

The throw at 4:40
says to me this guy will be a force in the NFL.

That's a hard throw to make.
It’s the kind of throw that seperates college prospects from pros.
