James Hardy?
Hi Bills fans. As you can tell by my login name I am a fan of the Titans. I was disgusted when the Oilers blew the playoff lead in January of '93 and I was elated when the play was ruled a lateral in January of '00. I'm not here to talk about any of that. Believe it or not I am one of the few fans of the Indiana Hoosiers football team. Can someone tell me what in the world is going on with Hardy? He was an absolute stud in college and seem to have all of the skills to make it in the pros. I really thought he was going to be a star in the NFL, but he is never active. Why is this....is it skills, work ethic, off the field conduct, or all of the above.
Congrats on your win today, good luck the rest of the season!
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

Hardy
Hardy looked like a raw physical speciman with almost no polish whatsoever as a rookie, before injuring his knee late last season. He started this season on PUP and since being activated, hasn’t dressed for a game yet. Personally, I think it’s ridiculous that Buffalo isn’t getting him playing time down the stretch, but I think Fewell’s only concern is winning games rather than developing prospects for someone else’s coaching staff next season. Hardy will probably get a one last shot next season, assuming full health, but Buffalo would be wise to treat him as a lottery ticket at this point. All excuses aside, he’s been another high pick that hasn’t produced for the Bills.
Hardy doesn’t play because there are no WR reps to go around and he can’t play special teams. There are no questions about his work ethic or any of that.

It is all injury related.
His injuries have been serious enough to slow his field activity. He should be very book smart by now as he has had ample time to study the play book. Also, as conventional as our playbook is he should be able to duplicate it by memory. When his opportunity arrives he should be mentally prepared to show off those stud attributes or maybe the physical attributes don’t match the mental ones.
Excuses are a sign of weakness!!!!!!
For Hardy’s sake, I hope he has done very little studying of said playbook. Was Schonert wrong?

Thanks for the answers....
I’m glad to hear it’s “only an injury” for lack of better words. Don’t give up on him, I really think he has all the tools to be a great player.

I think this is the most realistic answer.
Right now, the Bills rarely 4 WRs on the field, and if they did, veterans Evans, Owens, and Reed are the three, and then they have Parrish, who has subsequently has been active ever since Hardy was ready to come off the PUP list, and he makes the 4th WR. And Justin Jenkins is the 5th player listed as a WR who primarily plays special teams. Yet, Fred Jackson or Shawn Nelson would line up as the 5th WR if the Bills would ever go that route.
Hardy just doesn’t fit, because we picked up Owens this year, and the other players aside from Lee Evans are more versatile players than James Hardy.
It's not all that bad.... Go Bills 2010 !!!!

Steve Johnson was active this week based solely on being a better special teamer than Hardy. He is ahead of Hardy right now.

Don’t give up on him,
We’re not the ones to tell that to.
Bills fan? In Colorado? It's more likely than you think.

We also have
Steve Johnson who is a promising young receiver, I think out of Kentuck, who was emerging as a favorite target of Trent Edwards. So with TO, Evans, Josh Reed, Roscoe Parrish and Steve Johnson, Hardy will have a hard time getting on the field.
scouting team
This is slightly off topic, but in the direction of Hardy prospects for next year.
What would be great is if Hardy, Johnson and Jenkins are developing a rapport with Brian Bohm on the practice squad (or even Trent). I hope Hardy doesn’t get discouraged. It would be great if he becomes the stud that his potential suggests. I was always disappointed that there was never much reported about Trent working especially hard with Hardy to try to establish a connection when Hardy got to Buffalo. That’s the kind of stuff commentators are always saying about guys like Peyton Manning and Drew Brees.
Edwards, T.O., Lee Evans, and Josh Reed all did extra stuff after practice this year. Hardy was out of commission, though.

Yeah, Hardy was hurt this offseason after being a rookie last year. When was he supposed to put extra work with Trent in?
I signed up for Second Life about a year ago. Back then my life was so great that I literally wanted a second one. In my Second Life I was also a paper salesman and I was also named Dwight. Absolutely everything was the same. Except I could fly. - Dwight Schrute
