2010 Offseason
I'll make a list of things that need to be done in the offseason.
1.Perry Fewell is named HC and Lovie Smith is brought in to the be DC and Rod Marienelli is brought in as an Assistant Coach but keep our Dline Coach Bob Sanders.
2.FA is explored as a way to shore up our OL, I suggest Logan Mankins and move Eric Wood to C Hangartner becomes depth...Maybe Arron Kampman is brought in as well through FA if availiable.
3. Possible trades can be explored to secure a playmaker on the Offensive side of the ball (Joshua Cribbs,Reggie Bush,Brandon Marshall, Randy Moss, etc).
4. Cut Roscoe Parrish,James Hardy,Donte Whitner,John McCargo and other cap saving moves remember its not gonna effect our salary cap space in terms of dead cap space it an uncapped season.
5.Draft the BPA in the Draft do not reach based on need, Eric Berry comes to mind,Jerry Hughes is another player who could make an immediate impact but what this team needs most is an explosive threat out of the backfield IMO, so CJ Spiller could become a great pick we need playmakers on offense I wish we took Percy Harvin in the draft last year and we need to find the next Desean Jackson the Oline and Dline can wait until the second and third Rd.
6.Find an Ownership group to step up to the plate and keep football in Buffalo, this team sells out every week so does Minnesota there is no way either team should go to LA when the Raiders cant get 15000 people to show up after they beat the Steelers, the Jags have shown some life and the Chargers should not leave either but either the Jags or the Raiders and i say the Raiders should go they have a fanbase their already and just to keep things easy but definately not Buffalo I say Chris Berman should be considered as a potential investor he must have so much money based on his ESPN holdings so why not? HIm and Ralp Wilson are close.
7.Also get a naming rights deal for the Ralph to generate a little cash anything would help.
.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

The QB postion
I say stick with Fitzpatirick he has experince throws a good ball and is smart and athletic he just needs to grow into the posiiton i dont think we can draft the best QB in the draft and i dont wanna reach and get stuck with someone who can not help this team win so we either stick with him or maybe try to get MIchael Vick or Kerry Collins but i want Fitzpatrick

throws a good ball
Seriously, do you watch the games? Fitzpatrick should have had 3 picks yesterday on very, VERY ugly balls.

I think they throw a comparable deep ball, actually. Let’s not forget that Edwards had two deep-ball TDs against Tampa in the same game.
They’re both bad quarterbacks. I “support” both of them because they’re on my favorite team.

He's gotten lucky on two deep passes.
And “unlucky” on many more.

Not at all
He’s thrown a couple of nice deep balls. When Trent actually had the guts to throw it deep, good things seemed to happen.
And even if that was the case, throwing a decent deep ball doesn’t make up for the fact that he’s absolutely horrific on short passes and intermediate throws.

im not blwon away with him as a QB
but in 2010 if we can not draft Locker then i wanna see him or a veteran brought in as a stop gap til we can develop a good QB first i think we need to solidyfy the OL first and foremnost and then the DL and we need a dynamic offensive threat IMO i think that should be the first round draft selection a home run threat like Chris Johnson in Tennesse so lets take a shot on Spiller

He looks like Losman without a moustache. Fitzpatrick is on borrowed time, i’d say.

Marshall would cost soooo much
Denver will not let him go anyway

Ryan Fitzpatrick
Olberman referred to him as Ryan Fitzgerald last night. I would so much like to agree with you on Ryan. Yesterdays game was an opportunity for him to put the game away, early and near the end. He definately needs to perform much better. The reason why we have performed so badly this year is when the opportunities are there, our QB has not been able to come through. He is living Trents dream right now and he is not taking advantage of it. He still has three games left to prove himself, but keeping us in games Vs pulling out wins is not the type of QB we need. It’s not all on the QB, but once again, when the opportunity is there for the QB he needs to step it up. He has yet to do that.
Excuses are a sign of weakness!!!!!!
Because he can't.
Fitzpatrick is never going to be that QB that is a game changer. He’s a game holder. He’s playing to his abilities.

The Bills nearly lost that game yesterday. They should never have been in that position (though I know better than to expect it). Fitz is becoming a liability out there now. At least with Edwards, he could hit the close stuff.

I'm on board with the Fewell next year...
because it’s very unlikely that the Bills get their trophy fish.
I think the days of building a starting line through FA are over for this team. It hasn’t worked out at all.
No way you cut Hardy or Whitner. Hardy has been given NO change to show his skills. Whitner is a good player. This team needs starters 2-deep in the defensive backfield. They gain nothing by dumping either of these guys.
Someone who I haven’t seen mentioned yet: I wouldn’t mind seeing the Bills explore Javon Walker next year. I think he needs out of the black hole and might be motivated to produce in Buffalo. I wonder if he’s even a possibility to explore, without giving up too much in trade?

Is J Walker out this year, injury?
They are hard to play but not hard to beat.

I think he’s just on the bench. Good ole’ Al Davis shennanigans.

He has zero fantasy points this year (so he must not be playing at all), 2 yrs ago he was my top WR!

I wouldn’t mind seeing if lighting in a bottle happens twice (i.e. Moss w/ Raiders).

I’m by no means on board with keeping Perry for next year and I can guarentee you already that it won’t happen barring a true miracle, because fans want to see change and they won’t accept another mediocre coach like Fewell. They rightfully want to see change from top to bottom, and Perry is absolutely a part of the problem, as his defenses the last four years have been very mediocre generally speaking.
We need a new guy at the top of the organisation with a new mentality and a fresh set of eyes that being Shanahan, Cowher, DeCosta, Dave Gettleman or whoever. We need to get a HC in here who knows a thing or two about offense, because this league is all about offenses scoring loads of points (like it or not), and the Bills currently have an awful offensive staff that has no clue how to beat opponents. Obviously, having Captain Checkdown Edwards or Ryan Suckpatrick as your QB limits you offensively hugely, but still you should at least be able to be average, which we have been nowhere near.

Tommy: Let’s think about this for a sec, Ted, why would somebody put a guarantee on a box? Hmmm, very interesting.
Ted Nelson: Go on, I’m listening.
Tommy: Here’s the way I see it, Ted. Guy puts a fancy guarantee on a box ‘cause he wants you to feel all warm and toasty inside.
Ted Nelson: Yeah, makes a man feel good.
Tommy: ’Course it does. Why shouldn’t it? Ya figure you put that little box under your pillow at night, the Guarantee Fairy might come by and leave a quarter, am I right, Ted?
Ted Nelson: What’s your point?
Tommy: The point is, how do you know the fairy isn’t a crazy glue sniffer? “Building model airplanes” says the little fairy; well, we’re not buying it. He sneaks into your house once, that’s all it takes. The next thing you know, there’s money missing off the dresser, and your daughter’s knocked up. I seen it a hundred times.
Ted Nelson: But why do they put a guarantee on the box?
Tommy: Because they know all they sold ya was a guaranteed piece of (expletive). That’s all it is, isn’t it? Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed, I will. I got spare time. But for now, for your customer’s sake, for your daughter’s sake, ya might wanna think about buying a quality product from me.
Ted Nelson: Okay, I’ll buy from you.
Sorry, it popped out at me, and I had to do it.

Maybe Arron Kampman is brought in as well through FA if availiable.
We don’t need another 30-year-old DE.
Those trades you propose are ungodly. Why on earth would the Broncos trade Brandon Marshall? Why would Moss come here? How would Reggie Bush get on the field in Buffalo? Josh Cribbs is the only good player the Browns have and costs them like 600k. They’d be idiotic to trade him.
James Hardy has such a small salary. What would the point be of cutting him before you see what he can do? And who are you replacing Whitner with?
Chris Berman should be considered as a potential investor he must have so much money based on his ESPN holdings so why not? HIm and Ralp Wilson are close.
They’re close but Berman could never own part of a sports team he has to cover and how does he have that much money anyways?
The Bills are not going to sell naming rights to the Ralph until after he dies. I’ve asked why a million times and they just aren’t going to do it.

I agree, but with Wilson, Byrd, & Scott, don’t you think Whitner may be tradeable? Maybe not, but worth some thought.

Sorry, but Wilson and Scott are borderline NFL players. They’ve had productive seasons here, but that doesn’t mean they’re guys to build around. Whitner is 24 years old and much more talented. He stays.

u know that teams get into trouble reaching to fill needs
in the first round u take the BPA and then fill needs thru FA and the rest of the Draft to pay someone big money they better make an immediate impact Berry will… Spiller will …Gerald Mccoy in my opinion will …thats my point if we dont go QB and i hope we do but i wanted Locker know i guess ill have to be happy with Bradford who may be the best and i would really be excited to see him play but if we dont i hope we get a play maker like or the others ive mentioned

If we drafted Berry
I may break my TV. I love the kid and think he’s a baller. However if we take another freakin DB in the first 2 rounds my head will explode. Especially since we need so much help along the O line and the LB corps.
i too once thought this.
however, if we drafted Berry (i wouldn’t be ecstatic but I’d understand) our secondary would probably become elite.
if Berry could play CB, we have at safety: Jairus Byrd / Donte Whitner
at cornerback: Terrance McGee / Eric Berry / Leodis McKelvin
if he couldn’t play CB, Whitner at the very worst would be a solid Nickle CB.
