Would anyone consider this trade

vernon gholston for aaron maybin i know that gholston may very well be cut next year and we could pick him up via waivers or if he clears waivers and he def will no one wants  that contract then we could sign him and try him out ... but i wonder if anyone would consider this move... u have gholston a player being miscast as a 3-4 LB and maybin being miscast as a 4-3 end and the two could switch places and posiotns and see what happnens. I realize that gholston is much more of a confirmed bust than maybin is so dont wanna sound so down on maybin but i wonder if anyone has thought of this other than me. i really wanna get a end on this team in the mold of bruce smith so im willing to try anyhitng to get  players on this team that can produce and by all accounts gholston is imporving this year even tho he still produced not one sack in his career

Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

NO, it'd be stupid to trade for him.

Everyone’s so willing to give up on Maybin so early. Give me a break. Orakpo is the exception to the rule that rookie DE rarely produce in their first year. I’m not opposed to taking a look-see with Gholston. I’m a Big Ten guy and the talent is certainly there. He might be a candidate to replace Denney or Ellis as depth at DE. Why would you give up on Maybin so quickly. It’s just stupid to do so when the guy is 21 years old and still developing physically and mentally in his game. If Maybin gets a reasonable amount of opportunities next season and still doesn’t produce any, then we can start talking about him being a bust.

I’m sure the Jets would consider it.

NO THANKS

I agree with the other posters, give the kid a chance, besides how often has he been able to step on the field this year anyway?

Maybin needs an entire offseason in OBD or Two.

Strength and Conditioning and mini camp followed by training camp. Then he will need to show that he can learn his assignments. That will take one year. Then he will need tor repeat this going into his third year and take what he has learned and apply it to anticipation of the offense and adjust accordingly. Alot of this has to deal with his mental part of his role. He is so young that currently he is showing reckless abandoment Vs Decipline. Do not TRADE him.

Agreed. We’re in no position to be picky, but we also aren’t in a position to be stupid.

nada

chance!!!

the reason being Gholston doesn’t want to play!

Maybin is just young and light right now. He has a motor.

I’m a Maybin believer so, it’s a big no thank you from me.

I also think the salary difference would be a dealbreaker. The Bills gave Maybin 15 mil guaranteed (no clue how much of that has been paid, or would still have to be paid by Buffalo if they traded him) and only 2.5 mil of salary and another 7.5 mil in incentives. Gholston got 21 mil guaranteed (same no clues as Maybin), is owed 11.5 mil in base salary and has 17.5 mil in incentives.

I signed up for Second Life about a year ago. Back then my life was so great that I literally wanted a second one. In my Second Life I was also a paper salesman and I was also named Dwight. Absolutely everything was the same. Except I could fly. - Dwight Schrute

I think Gholston hasn’t had much of a chance with the Jets. They have a guy named Calvin Pace playing in the same spot they would play Gholston. Now I admit that he hasn’t done much with the playing time he has gotten but I don’t think he is the bust everyone makes hm out to be. I would love to acquire Gholston but there is no way I would trade Maybin for him.

No

Gholston is a fail,

We need 1 more season to decide on Maybin, though I would consider unloading Maybin for Glenn Dorsey.

Dorsey is much more suited to a 4-3, though his contract is something that might make me reconsider.

There's not a wide receiver who is fast enough, that J.P. Losman can't overthrow him on a fly pattern.

i like maybin and wanna keep him

just wanted to know what u guys thought…it sux how many DE’s dont pan out jamaal anderson gaines adams vernon gholston derrick harvey quinten groves….i thikn maybin will take time to develop the kinda moves that are gonna make him succesful in the NFL i wanna stand him up to get him on RB or TE and then see what happens not run a 3-4 defense but just keep our base personell on the field and rush him a LB… he perfermed well in preseason so i feel like he will eventually produce
