Mock Draft 1.0
im a bradford supporter and i believe that good QB play is so important that it can improve play of everyone around them including the oline and the we have good players at the skill positions but i am gonna go thru two possibilities one with and one without bradford here we go just three rds. anymore is too hard three rds is too hard but ill give it a shot
1. Sam Bradford
2.OL Sam Young Charles Brown Jason Fox Adam Ulatoski
3.DL Brian Price Vince Oghabaase Arthur Jones
.
1.Eric Berry
2. OL Sam Young Charles Brown Jason Fox Adam Ulatoski
3. OLB Pat Angerer
I know im gonna get kiled for these two picks in the first rd but first ill defend berry
he is a cant miss prospect look at how he is excelling in kiffins defense and what does he run at tennessee a cover two based scheme he would also give us the oppurtunity to put him one on one against WR's TE's or RB's with success that kind of flexibilty is what makes troy polamalu so good he is that kind of versatile player that every team would kill for he instantly makes our run defense better and our pass defense better look at how many times a safety makes the tackle in the run game and teams who have great safties play better defense look at the colts run d with and without bob sanders IMO he is that good and will make that kind of impact so i want him to be a BILL
bradford IMO can be as good as tom brady he is tall and cerebral with a good arm who has the smarts to be a great QB he also has a chip on his shoulder and something to prove with everyone doubting him after his injury so i think he will be motivated to succeed IMO he doesnt need to start right away in fact i would like us to sign Pennignton or another veteran to stablilze the team get everyone into a rythymn and on the same page then tutor Bradford and ease him into the position one or maybe even two years down the road depending on the team's success
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

Yeah, he’s falling there in a lot of mocks because of his injury, but I agree that he’ll never make it out of the top 50 picks. If he was there in the 2nd round, I’d completely ignore need and grab him without a 2nd thought.

heard that before
he is a cant miss prospect
Wasnt that everyones view on Maybin? Not that he is a bust or anything yet.

Actually, that wasn’t anywhere close to the consensus opinion on Maybin.

I believe the consensus on maybin was natural burst, incredibly high ceiling, but where do you play him?
Much closer to that than “can’t miss,” absolutely.

Angerer plays on the inside and I think his best fit in the pros is to stay at MLB.
There are few players that I don’t like in the draft, but Sam Young is one of them. I think he’s a fourth round type of prospect who will struggle if asked to play early in his career. I think he’s got big upside as a run blocker, but will need to add a lot of polish to his game to not get abused by the better pass rushers. And he’s definitely an RT in the NFL and plays on that side in college.
Adam Ulatowski is a RT too and more of a mid round pick than somebody I’d consider in the 2nd round. If Buffalo is going to draft a RT in the 2nd round, then they better be a stud and somebody who can play as a rookie. I don’t mind a project LT because it’s such a huge need, but I’d need to consider a prospect to be a considerable upgrade over both Butler and Bell to draft them as a RT.
I’m not really sure how’d I set up a mock right now because there is going to be so much talent available at the top of the 2nd and 3rd round. More than ever before, I’m on the best available player bandwagon.

I agree
on the best player available concept. drafting based on need, unless the best player available is a need, should not be the plan. with the injuries to this OL I really am starting to think OL is the biggest need. there are a bunch of quality OLman in this draft which will probably afford the Bills the opportunity to draft one. all depends what happens in front of them.

We only have two running backs on our roster.
When and How, then who do we turn too to resolve this issue?
Excuses are a sign of weakness!!!!!!
we could pick someone up mid to late rounds
Who ever it is will only be a 3rd stringer….not of huge importance

We have one on IR, too. They will have 4 or 5 RBs in camp again. UDFAs, maybe a 6th rounder, stuff like that.

2.) Best OL available
3.) WR- Eric Decker

just curious
If we went your route, what do we do at the QB position?
I think this should be a mock draft requirement….If you post a Bills mock and don’t have us taking a QB in the first two rounds, then you should have to explain what would be done to resolve the issue (either FA, trade, standing pat with Trent or Fitz, etc.). I’m not calling “neverbeentobuffalo” personally here, I’m just saying that it’s clearly a pressing need and, IMO, the first thing that needs to be taken care of to put us on the right track.
I'm not high on the QBs in this coming draft
I think you can grab Pennington if need be from FA to squat for this year. Fitz is a guranteed backup and you just see what Brohm has/how he progresses. The 2011 QB class I think is going to be a lot more solid, and IF Brohm works out, then you don’t even need to go in that direction…
I was born in Buffalo, and NO, it's not a suburb of New York City
I don't know about comparing Bradford to Brady.
I still think no one knew Brady would be who he is today, Belichick included. They took him in the 7th round, afterall.
Bradford may have a strong arm, but I wonder if he’ll be able to take a team on his back, like Brady did in winning those SBs. It’s funny how he couldn’t win it with all the a-list weapons.

I know he has looked good the last few games with limited carries, but I would still deal Marshawn this off-season if possible. Pick up a vet RB (or two) to sit behind Freddy and use the extra picks on O-line depth.
No weekend spent pantsless is a wasted weekend.
i think lynch is gonna finish the year strong

There's no reason to trade Lynch.
We’re not going to get equitable value relative to his low contract, age, and still considerable upside. He and Freddie are essentially very similar players, which is good because they’re both very good. There’s no point in trading a 24 yr old Lynch and keep a 30 yr old Jackson when you can have both relatively cheaply.
Especially considering he may have played himself out of a big contract for the forseeable future. He was primed to cash in, until this season.

How about he is one step away from a year long ban..is that a reason?
No weekend spent pantsless is a wasted weekend.
He’s also one step away from having no off-field incidents and another Pro Bowl year next year. We have no idea how it’s gonna play out. And we can’t get anything for him.
Official ledge-talker-offer of the Buffalo Bills.
It is going to take Lynch more that one step to work off that 20 lbs of twinkie weight he put on
during his off season “workouts”. Maybe we should get him a heavier bong???
"The Bills have no playoff aspirations" – Dan Dierdorf
You play Russian roulette with players all the time. They are one play away from a season ending injury. Lynch is playing Russian Roulette with two bullets in his gun. 1 for an injury 1 for an off field screw up. If you think he has little value now, how much do you think he will have if he messes up again? Trade him to the Raiders.
No weekend spent pantsless is a wasted weekend.
Yeah.....maybe they will give us Nnamdi Asomugha and this years 1st for him :-P
"The Bills have no playoff aspirations" – Dan Dierdorf
Yeah. Like Oakland has any picks to give…
I’ll admit that he’s at higher risk for a repeat offense, but honestly we’ve already spent a first round pick and we’re not likely to get anything substantial back for him. The best we can do is not leave ourselves short on depth at yet another position and have faith in him to make better decisions.

I’m not saying to give him away, he does have value, but if the right deal is there….trade him. And IMHO the Bills should be looking very hard to find that right deal.
No weekend spent pantsless is a wasted weekend.
I agree, but won't they have to wait to see what the new GM wants to do?
Like it or not, the Bills are stuck until the season is over and the search for a new GM begins.
"The Bills have no playoff aspirations" – Dan Dierdorf
The problem with Bradford is that it is hard to evaluate him until after we see him in pre-draft workouts
Scouts are either going to claim that his injury had absolutely no effect on his arm strength and that his play is at the same level which he showed BEFORE his injuries, which will probably sky rocket him up the draft boards… potentially out of our reach.
OR
The workouts are going to show that his shoulder injury HAS impacted his playing ability… which on the one hand will be a good thing because we will be able to acquire him at the 8-13 spot… but on the other hand, why would we want him then…
by flutieflakes007 on Dec 18, 2009 2:36 PM EST reply actions
His injury won’t effect his arm strength. It wasn’t an actual shoulder injury, it was a sprain of the joint that connects the collarbone to the highest point of the shoulder blade. Here is a picture of the shoulder via wikipedia (I’m assuming we can post pictures from a site like that?). You’ve got the clavicle up top (collarbone) and the ac joint connecting the clavicle to the acromion (shoulder blade). And you can see that it’s up above the shoulder.

im with u injuries happen its football
i love bradford …football players get hurt … thats the nfl …so what he is 22 yrs old his body will heal, he will be fine, if we get what would have been a 2009 number one pick 8th or 9th in the draft then that could be the kind of luck it takes to turn this thing around that coupled with a good offensive coach we would have a bright future IMO

I agree that this injury is not a detriment to his throwing ability, and I would not base his draft position on an injury such as this.
With this type of injury you do have some pain when the arm is brought overhead, but the real pain starts when you bring your hand to shoulder level and move it across your body (think incomplete pass motion).
However, like any ligament, once it is sprained it is susceptible to further injury. With that said, If we draft him, my only concern is keeping him upright, in which case we have to make some moves to bolster this O-line.
by BillsfanDan on Dec 20, 2009 10:40 AM EST up reply actions
There's a greater opportunity cost trading Lynch for maybe a 5th rounder.
If he does something stupid again this offseason, then you just release him and move on. We’re bound to get more value with him handling 40+ % of the load at a reasonable price then getting a draft pick that may or may not contribute anytime soon. Lynch is a known quantity on the football field, and if we trade him we automatically need another RB.
So you are telling me that the team can’t sign a free agent?
No weekend spent pantsless is a wasted weekend.
Sure they can. Who’s available in this depressed FA market due to the lapsing CBA? I bet they’ll be beating down the door to sign with a rebuilding franchise.

My mock draft for the Bills looks like this right now
1. Bruce Campbell
2. Carlos Dunlap
3.Case Keenum
How you like those apples. lol
1. Bruce Campbell
A must pick for the Army Of Darkness references alone….

Don’t you think Campbell’s not a top ten prospect? I see him as a low first round grade. I just think he’d be a reach.

Really
He’s my highest rated OT prospect in this draft. The only worry I have about him is he’s missed some games due to injury. But ohter than that I think he’s ready to play and start from day 1.
i would change brian price for Carlos Dunlap
i really like him i know he is only 270 for a dt but he is 6’1" and he is just built really low and low man wins in the trnches so against some taller OG and C he could win all day with a bull rush i think he would be a great 2nd or 3rd rounder depending on how things shape up

Okung is most peoples number 1 OT prospect
I havw him number 2. My top 4 right now is
1. Campbell
2. Okung
3.Bulaga
4.Brown
Howver I freely admit I don’t always go with what everyone else does when it comes to grading prospects.
6 LB's in top 20
One mock draft had these six in their top 20, not being sold on a lot of QB’s and RB’S in the first round. If Buffalo drops a few spots do any of them look good in the blue and red?
For the record they had Buffalo picking at 8. and taking Trent Williams, T, Oklahoma
Ricky Sapp, LB, Clemson
Sergio Kindle, LB, Texas
Cameron Heyward, DE, Ohio State
Brandon Spikes, LB, Florida
Arrelious Benn, WR, Illinois
Greg Jones, LB, Michigan State
They had us taking a LB in the second round Bruce Carter, LB, North Carolina, perhaps this is more realistic
Had this posted in a different fanpost, but no response, figured I’d get more info here.
Well we tried the no offense huddle, why not give the no huddle offense a go?!!
we are gonna pick high enough to get Rolando Mcclain if we want him
with that said the Offense is a serious need and deserves an entire draft i dont care about the run defense i care about scoring pts
