New HC for 2010
I read a post on PFT and it stated that a mystery team has contacted Mike Shanahan about thier potential coaching vacancy in 2010, this team is supposedly a playoff contender and i can only guess that it is the Cowboys, this was before the Cowboys won on Saturday so things were different but there is still some chance that the Cowboys do not have the kind of success that Jerry Jones would like to have this year so that got me thinking about Jason Garrett an assistant coach who has the potential to be a great HC and has been paid alot to be the coach in waiting in Dallas but may be passed over if Shanahan is availbale.
I for one would really like to see him brought in for an interivew if the Bills are gonna make an effort to improve the offense that is lacking the firepower to keep up with the better teams. IMO Jason Garret, Leslie Frazier or Jim Harbaugh would be my coaching wishlist for the 2010 season. I want to see Jim Harbaugh brought in to establish an identity in Buffalo of being physical and tough i am tired of this undersized defense that gets pushed around and an offense that doesnt play to its strengths which at this point is its backfield and deep passes set up by play action. So those are the three coaches i would like to see interviewed along with Perry Fewell but i know most people want to see wholesale changes so i am not against a whole new staff coming in, what do u guys think about my candiidates?
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

Harbaugh just signed a three-year extension with Stanford, so he’s obviously not an option. Garrett will likely stay in Dallas with his 2,5 million dollar a year salary barring Wade being fired, which I personally don’t see happening.
Shanahan is in all likelihood going to take the Redskins job, unless the Boys fire Wade, which I – as mentioned – don’t expect to happen.
Frazier is likely not going to be our new HC, as he’s a defensive-minded coach a LOT like Jauron, and I think it’s pretty safe to assume we want somebody in here to fix this offense and be able to develop QB’s.
Perry’s chances of returning as our HC are about as good as the chances of me making out with Emma Watson, in other words incredibly slim.

Couldn’t he just hire a good OC? I mean where is it written that a HC who has a defensive background will ignore the offense? Just to throw a name out there, lets say Frazier becomes the new HC and he hires Charlie Weis as OC. Is that ignoring the offense?
No weekend spent pantsless is a wasted weekend.
there's an argument to be made
that the reason Garrett has been turning down offers left and right is that he expected to get the cowboys job once they fired wade phillips. With phillips now seemingly entrenched for another year, I think Garrett is perfectly likely to start listening to offers a little bit more carefully.

I think that is very likely if Cowher wants the job
It would be hard to see the Panters not going with Cowher if he wants to coach next year. If not, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Fox get another year.

i like jim fassel more then haslett
because he is a supposed QB guru he could potentially draft a QB in the first rd we are likey to get a top 7 pick now

We could bring in Fassel and JP Losman. They made it work in the UFL!

Here's an "other" name for ya.
Russ Grimm. Tough guy who’s been successful everywhere he’s been. He was one of the hogs in Washington. Won a ring as the O-Line coach with the Steelers. He was inches from being the next steelers head coach, but they went with Tomlin instead. He then went and became the O-line coach in Arizona, where he built the line out of scraps (Mike Gandy at LT, if you remember) that went to the super bowl. His greatest achievement, IMO, is that he kept Warner upright all season. Warner is not Roethlisburger. On top of all that he’s a tough, blue-collar guy whom I think the fans and the players would love. He’s perfect for Buffalo, IMO.
Thoughts, anyone?

I like it... with the Big names gone, I like:
1. Fox
2. Grimm
3. Billick
4. Fassl

Grimm
He’s my first choice too. Grimm has the persona we have been lacking (so does Gruden, but he’s out of the mix). You cannot deny his resume. In fact, the longer we take, the more I’m inclined to get a top coordinator like Grimm rather than a HC retread like Haslett.
The Dick Jauron version of the K-Gun...the Squirt Gun.
Grimm is my next choice
after Fox>
Fox makes sense as he gas Giants ties to Greg Gabriel who Brian Galliford has profiled today as possible new GM in BUF
Actually, he has more ties with Dave Gettleman

I'd target:
Billick and Garrett initially…I’m actually beginning to warm up to the idea of Martz too if Wilson would be willing to spend on a high profile defensive coordinator for him…if the Bills were sincere about being willing to pay Shanahan or Cowher 10 million annually (I have my doubts that they were), they should be willing to take that money and re-invest in a higher profile coaching staff as a whole as a Plan B.
Aaron Maybin is Chris Ellis 2.0.
Im not that high on Fox as everyone else
What most of us want is a team that is consistent at winning. Fox has never had a consecutive winning season.Which will be the reason he gets fired this year, if he does get fired.
Fox makes 5.5 million per season HCing the Panthers

Miller and/or Grimm
Grimm is running game coordinator/O-line coach and Mike Miller is the passing game coordinator at Arizona. One of them can be our coach and the other Offensive coordinator. We should make a run for these guys.
