Does Byrd make the Pro Bowl?
Ill be the first to say I did not like the Byrd pick. To me, at the time, it did not fill a draft need. We were set at the FS and SS positions and it seemed like we had bigger problems (like the O-line) than at CB/FS. There is no doubt that Byrd has not only impressed Bills fans but also has impressed the rest of the league. He is quickly becoming one of my favorite players and love how is referred to as "the byrd man."
Since Byrd is the only one that seems to have a shot at making the pro bowl from this team I wanted to do a little ballot of who thinks he will make it and who doesn't. Also, If any of you think any other players might make it, just put it down on the comments. I'll post Byrds stats below versus two other potential candidates. Thanks for your replies!

I'd say yes
Although it wouldn’t surprise me in the least bit when he doesn’t make it.
Ed Reed will probably be one of the FS chosen.
Michael Griffin, Eric Weddle, and Ryan Clark will also be discussed too.
If he isn’t named the starter, he might not make it. The Pro Bowl rosters usually only have 3 safeties on it, so if two SS are kept, all the other potential FS candidates are out of luck….

Byrd may have impressed Bills fans, but the rest of the NFL and fans in general? While Byrd should be given credit for being in the right spot at the right time to receive his “gifts”, I would hardly call them spectacular plays. Byrd plays deep center field well, but until he can defend the run and deliver some big time hits he is not going to make it to a ProBowl at the safety position.

I don’t think we can question whether or not he’s impressed the NFL – dude was named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month in October. That’s a pretty big deal, and proof the league noticed him.

Good point. That was after the Jets game where he got 3 picks, right?
But since October-early Nov, well, you said it yourself. Want to beat Byrd? Throw it over his head. Look, I hope he gets to slide in the back door like Lynch did, but for Byrd to be voted in outright is fairly unlikely. Most of his INTs came off horrible throws, but because he made a great break on the ball and took it away. It takes spectacular plays to get voted into the ProBowl. Most of Byrd’s INTs were about as exciting as watching someone catch balls from the juggs.

Byrd better make it or i have no faith in the NFL as a league to gauge talent outside of the spotlight

Based on stats I’d say yes, but stats don’t count as much in the voting as they should. Much more important is name recognition, and Dawkins & Reed probably will be voted in the pro bowl just because of their popular names. If the byrd man would have just about 20 tackles more, I’d say that he would have a good chance…but as it stands now. I’m not sure.

Bear in mind that when the Pro Bowl ballots came out originally Byrd’s name wasn’t included. If those were the same ballots that the players got, well, Byrd has no shot even if he ends the year with 12+ INTs.
Of course we could make things more challenging, Lisa, but then the stupider students would be in here complaining, furrowing their brows in a vain attempt to understand the situation--Seymour Skinner
Byrd’s not even in the top five in rookie votes this season. He’s already well behind Percy Harvin, Michael Oher, Clay Matthews, Brian Cushing and Brian Orakpo. If he gets in, it will likely be as a replacement or as a coach’s decision type of deal.

That's what I am thinking.
I think he will be added by a coach or as a replacement.
He’s not getting in on fan voting.

I voted No
But that doesn’t mean I don’t want him to make it. It seems like he is in a tricky situation. His tackles are well below the other two candidates, he doesn’t have a TD or a FF. Basically he just picks the ball off. While great for us and I have grown to love Byrd, I think he needs to step up other facets of his game to be considered all-pro. If he stuck his nose in on run support or took a TD to the house at least once, people would start to recognize him as a big time game changer. Right now, I think people might be looking at him as an anomaly.
Which give the Bills injury history
will most likely be next week.

I voted yes, but no way does he get in as a starter. Dawkins and Reed should have that locked up. I think his 9 INTs are too impressive for whoever is coaching the Pro Bowl to leave him off the roster.
I signed up for Second Life about a year ago. Back then my life was so great that I literally wanted a second one. In my Second Life I was also a paper salesman and I was also named Dwight. Absolutely everything was the same. Except I could fly. - Dwight Schrute
If the Bills where better
he would be in also, if he was s bigger name coming out of college would have helped. i said yes but that is wishful thinking.

I voted for him on my ballot
i went to to nfl.com and voted for him so i think everyone should show some support for him he deserves it and as a rookie he will love the support form bills fan who may not have recieved him with open arms when he was drafted

But the poll question was D-O-E-S Byrd make the ProBowl?

He was 5th in fan voting and was only on the ballot for a week.

No. Once you’re on IR, you can’t play until the new league year begins. We won’t see Byrd until next July.

Even for the Pro Bowl?
I never knew that, I knew you couldn’t play for your team, but I didn’t realize IR excludes you from the pro bowl.
Are you 100% sure on this Brian?

He’s having surgery and won’t be ready anyways. Why would a coach name him to the Pro Bowl as a replacement or coach’s addition just so they can name someone else? He will only get on in coach and player voting.

hes on Ir now, Jeeze this is just ridonkulus
We had to set the record now? I thought his injury wasn’t something severe. Maybe he got another hernia. Well there goes his pro bowl shot. maybe they are just telling him to take off since this seasson is a wash.
They are saying he tore the labrum in his hip. Could be an injury from overcompensating from the groin.
