Looking at the Draft - past decade

Looking at past decade of draft - first 3 rounds

Looking at the Bills draft for the past decade, including those players taken in the first 3 rounds for the most part, concluded the following:
- 2001 was a stellar year for the Bills and Bill Polian must have secretly made our picks, rather than Tom Donohoe.
- We have drafter 9 defensive backs, including 3 of our first four picks in 2006.
- 2002 was a horrible year, taking Williams over McKinnie.
- Eleven of the 35 picks are no longer in football
- Bills have failed miserably in the 2nd round with picks such as Tillman, Josh Reed, Ryan Denney, Roscoe Parrish, and James Hardy, a few of the notables that have not played like 2nd rounders.

  • 18 players drafed for defense.
  • 17 drafted for offense.
    • Not a single Defensive Tackle drafted in the whole decade – Is it any wonder we cannot stop the run – Kyle Williams was drafted in the later rounds.

2000 – Erik Flowers – #1 – Travares Tillman – #2 – Corey Moore- #3
2001 – Nate Clements, Aaron Schobel, Travis Henry, Ron Edwards, Jonas Jennings
2002 – Mike Williams instead of Bryant McKinnie, Josh Reed&Ryan Denney in round-2, Coy Wire in round-3
2003 – Willis McGahee – #1, Chris Kelsey – #2, Angelo Crowell-#3, Terrence McGee-#4
2004 – Lee Evans and JP Losman – #1; Tim Anderson – #3
2005 – Roscoe Parrish-#2, Kevin Everett-#3; Duke Preston – #4
2006 – Donte Whitner-#1; Ashton Youboty-#3; Ko Simpson-#4
