The Deep Pass
Before last nights game, T.O. had looked like his former self. (14 catches for 293 yards and 2 TD's) Yet last night T.O. faced arguably the best corner in the game in Darrelle Revis, and got shutdown by him for the second time this season. I love the fact that PF and AVP are focusing on getting T.O. the ball, and it is important we get him the ball. The problem I have with it is that when Owens is being covered by a guy like Revis (who has shutdown basically everyone he has faced) why force him the ball deep, when we have another extremely talented WR on the opposite side of the field? One of the first plays of the game was a deep pass to Evans that if not for a diving effort on the CB's part goes for 6. Yet for what I saw we never tried to go deep to Evans again. Evans is a great deep threat, he has proven it if given the opportunity.
I love T.O., and I would love to have him back for another season. The only thing that worries me is that if we only focus on T.O., when its time for him to go, Evans could walk as well.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

With a better QB i think the Evens T.O match up still has alot of potential for next year
provided we have a better line

Fitzpatrick threw at least four passes at Evans in what I’ll loosely describe as the middle of the field. They were slants and posts, from what I could see, and in each case, Evans had big gains thwarted by terrible throws and/or bad throws due to pressure.

Has anyone noticed how awkward Fitz looks when he throws the bomb?
I don’t know what it is but he looks like a 6 year old throwing his whole body. There’s a little hitch or jump or something there.
Exactly
I said the same thing. Lee evans was thrown to I think twice. He is actually starting to suffer from us having T.O because he demands so much attention. I love T.O too, but if winning is what we are trying to do, it doesnt involve T.O on every offensive play.
This is an assumption on my part, but I’ll guess that since Revis can be left alone on an island, Sheppard always has safety help over the top. QBs get conditioned to not throw deep into double coverage. Evans is a huge threat that opponents take very seriously and I doubt that the Bills had many opportunities to get Evans one on one down the field, espcially since they had a big play that way early in the game and since the Jets had the lead for most of the game.
I signed up for Second Life about a year ago. Back then my life was so great that I literally wanted a second one. In my Second Life I was also a paper salesman and I was also named Dwight. Absolutely everything was the same. Except I could fly. - Dwight Schrute
I said after the draft in 2007 – I wish I could find the damned comment, I might have put it on our old, now-defunct Jets blog – that a day might come where the Bills regretted passing on Revis in favor of Lynch. I was gonna make myself look all smart and stuff, but that comment eludes me, so if a single person believes me, I’ll be satisfied. :)

I wouldn’t, but you don’t know me personally. Never assume. :)

I think that your forgetting the fact that Evans just signed a long extention, he’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

QB the problem not Evans
Evans will always have a CB on him with a S over the top due to his speed.
So the only routes Evans gets open on, flags, post, and slants (short to intermediate range). I haven’t seen any of our QB’s hit since Bledsoe. JP was horrible at them, Trent never threw them, Fitz couldn’t hit the broadside of the barn 7/10 times. I’m sure this will show in the statistics when you see the # of completions our QBs have thrown in that range.
7 games and counting!!!
