Do you think the recent love affair between America and the Buffalo wing jeopardizes the legacy of the KC smoked rib in football cuisine royalty?

BUFFALO VS. KC, THE UNTOLD RIVALRY
Bills fan? In Colorado? It's more likely than you think.

Wow
Buffalo wings are my favorite….Me and a couple buddies are always trying out new sauces and cooking them. Frying, baking, however you want it….it’s great. We’ve even ordered sauces from the internet before (called Def Con 1, 2 and 3).
i love any kind of wing
allthrough being from the south i like bbq from kfc we have a place in my town called wings to go has everything i love their ranch sauce
okay i have cereal palsy arhrtis and chronic fatiue as well i have a grea life loveing folks some days are better that other days i got a make a wish in 2001 saw my favorive team the broncos was the trip of the lifetime i wish everyone couild gotten to enjoy that with me i know some of u hate the broncos and that ok but i bleed organ and bule
Are you guys looking to get rid of Dorsey?
I keep hearing rumours.
eh some people would like it but
theres no way he gets moved. People thought he would be a bust switching over to DE in the 3-4 but he has actually showed up and been one of the better players on the defense this year even without a lot of sacks
I wouldn't say "there's no way"
But I think it’s highly unlikely. He’s playing better and better. Like tomahawk said, he switched positions so we are seeing progress at the new position.
Of all positions, I think the Chiefs are most confident of their DEs heading into 2010.
What are your thoughts on the – let’s go with “temperamental” – Todd Haley?

Some like him, some don't
Personally, I don’t believe that Todd Haley is “tempermental”, rather I believe he is passionate about his team. One thing I’ve liked about him is his willingness to immediately get on a player whom has made a bad mistake on the field. He tries to correct things immediately regardless of who it is.
Yeah, let's just keep matriculatin' the ball down the field, boys! ...
Haley brings discipline.
I think its something vitally important for such a young, inexperienced team. I agree with oldchiefsfan…he’s very passionate, and the broadcasts tend to focus on him too much when he gets excited. Most of the time he follows up outbursts by sitting on the bench with that player, discussing calmly what mistake was made and evaluating solutions. Usually he has a reason to blow up when he does. I think he’s the best coach for the Chiefs RIGHT NOW, a guy who is not afraid of making waves to make a point and inspire his young team to fight hard.
Also to his credit is a GREAT offseason conditioning period where the team lost over 800 lbs collectively and it has really showed through on keeping our players injury-free and well-conditioned late into games. They have a bounce in their step even in the fourth quarter, which is a great sign going forward.
Our defense gave up 87 points in two weeks and everyone wants to talk about Matt Cassel. Classic. Only TEAMS, as a COLLECTIVE GROUP, decide our W/L record. I can't believe this needs to be said.
If only we had your strength and conditioning coach
How many guys do we have on I.R.?……………too many

A lot of internet “experts” and fans put LT at or near the top of KC’s list of offseason needs and a lot of mocks have you guys going OT. But the KC fans I’ve seen mostly don’t like the idea of going LT in the first round. How realistic of a possibility is LT in the first round?
Bernard Pollard seems to be doing pretty well in Houston, why did KC cut him and how are Mike Brown, Jon McGraw and DaJaun Morgan playing? I was a big fan of Morgan when he came out, does he still have a bright future?
The Bills are getting some heat around here for the lack of production of first round DE, Aaron Maybin. Are Chiefs fans being patient with Tyson Jackson or are they questioning the pick?
Like the Bills, the Chiefs have a lot of positions to try and upgrade this offseason. What are the fans thinking about the draft? Any momentum for taking Terrance Cody really, really early? Dez Bryant, or is WR not quite enough of a need? Will it be a little early for a sure thing like Rolando McClain? Eric Berry? I’ll assume it’s something of a best available in the 2nd and 3rd round, but are Chiefs fans focusing in on any specific position as their biggest need? 2nd biggest? And I know this is a ton of questions, but are KC fans as focused on the offseason as we are?
And finally, what are the odds that Matt Cassel is the starting QB five years from now?
I signed up for Second Life about a year ago. Back then my life was so great that I literally wanted a second one. In my Second Life I was also a paper salesman and I was also named Dwight. Absolutely everything was the same. Except I could fly. - Dwight Schrute
Quick answers

The Chiefs have pretty bad offensive line so top OL available is a possibility. We spent a 1st round pick on LT Branden Albert in 2008 and he had a solid rookie year. This season, though, he’s regressed. I think you’ll see more and more fans opening up to the idea of drafting a tackle that is significantly better than Albert (if there is one) and moving him to guard (his college position).
We’ll see, though. I think it’s definitely realistic but there’s a long way to go.
Bernard Pollard seems to be doing pretty well in Houston, why did KC cut him and how are Mike Brown, Jon McGraw and DaJaun Morgan playing? I was a big fan of Morgan when he came out, does he still have a bright future?
Some reports have indicated that Pollard wasn’t the most disciplined and wouldn’t mesh with the environment Haley and Pioli are trying to create.
Mike Brown was signed in June, after being on the market for months. It’s showing why he was so available.
DaJuan Morgan doesn’t see much time. He was given an opportunity at to start at FS due to some injuries but was quickly back to his spot as 3rd team FS and SS. Not sure what’s up with him since he doesn’t see much time.
The Bills are getting some heat around here for the lack of production of first round DE, Aaron Maybin. Are Chiefs fans being patient with Tyson Jackson or are they questioning the pick?
A lot of folks are questioning the pick because they see DE and expect sacks. Except…Jackson won’t ever be a 10+ sack kinda guy. His role is a little different. Defensive linemen take a bit to develop so I think over at AP at least we’re patient with Jackson for the most part.
Like the Bills, the Chiefs have a lot of positions to try and upgrade this offseason. What are the fans thinking about the draft? Any momentum for taking Terrance Cody really, really early? I’ll let someone with more knowledge of the draft answer this question.
And finally, what are the odds that Matt Cassel is the starting QB five years from now?
5 years? That’s a long time to predict but I think he’ll be here. That’ll make him 32 years old.

Do you think Cassel will be the starting QB next year?

"As the governor of Louisiana once said, the only way Chris Kelsay can lose his job is if he got caught in bed with a dead girl or a live boy."
Yes no doubt about it
I do think if he doesnt pick up his game though he may be benched later in that season
tamba hali
What’s the word on tamba? I loved him at PSU how he could dominate but I haven’t heard much since he landed in KC
well he honored DT yesterday at his number retirement 3 sacks and 2 forced fumbles
Tamba currently leads the team with 6.5 sacks if Im correct
He did okay opposite Jared Allen in 2006 and 2007
He had 8 then 8.5 sacks. Then Allen left and Hali, along with the rest of the Chiefs defense, went to the toilet in 2008. He had 2.5 sacks.
This season, though, he’s got 6.5 sacks and is in the “predator” role in the Chiefs 3-4 defense. It’s supposed to open him up for some sacks. He’s been a bright spot on the Chiefs defense, I’d say. Especially when you consider he had never played without his hand on the ground.

Carl Peterson
Carl Peterson put 8 Chiefs teams in the playoffs in 20 seasons in charge of the team. I know he took a lot of heat in KC during his last few years there due to a lack of overall playoff success (and probably a sense of staleness after such a long tenure), but what are your thoughts on his work overall? Did he retire or did he get fired? How old is he? Most importantly, could he fix the Titanic that is the Buffalo Bills of the 00’s, much like he did the 70’s-80’s Chiefs?
Are you having trouble selling out?
Carl put together teams that made fans excited and made us think we could compete. But, over 20 years he never drafted a quarterback that could do it. And, even when we did get that quarterback (Trent Green), the defense was one of the worst in the NFL.
He could never put it all together but he did make football exciting in Kansas City again. Even if that was because of the head coaches (Schottenheimer, Vermeil), he still hired them.

Then Carl's probably not the guy
He demonstrated over 20 years with the Chiefs that he couldn’t A) draft a QB or B) win it all.
And I think those statements go hand in hand. You draft the right QB, develop him and you’re a contender

Does the team miss Larry Johnson?

Definitely not
History has clearly indicated that a player like LJ (High number of carries, 30 years old) doesn’t succeed very often…..and history was right.
His role as a #3/#4 back on the Bengals should give you your answer.
Our defense gave up 87 points in two weeks and everyone wants to talk about Matt Cassel. Classic. Only TEAMS, as a COLLECTIVE GROUP, decide our W/L record. I can't believe this needs to be said.
Wasn’t LJ the starter for the Bengals when Benson sat a game because of injury?
by CanadianBillsFan on Dec 8, 2009 4:54 PM EST up reply actions
So he’s definatly not the Begals’ #3 or #4. I fact he played quite well when he started for the Bengals. Nowehre near the LJ of old, but a solid number two option for them.

well he had one good game when he rushed for 107 against the Browns
but every other time he has seen the ball isnt hasnt been all that great
Bernard Scott was
until he got injured

What are KC fans thoughts on Tony Gonzalez?
Would you rather have kept him, or is the 2nd round pick better for you?
There's not a wide receiver who is fast enough, that J.P. Losman can't overthrow him on a fly pattern.
Well...
To be honest I was not happy at the time we traded him b/c it was taking a legend and weapon away from Kansas City but now that I look at it Im glad we traded him b/c it gives us a chance to get another impact player in next years draft and I dont think we would of won many more games with him maybe one or two more. I do miss seeing 88 running around schooling people and dragging them downfield but it was time b/c he wanted out and we need to finish the rebuild.
It wasn't pleasant letting a HOF TE go. It's what Tony wanted and they let him go.
He wanted to go play for a team that had a chance at a Super Bowl, but I think he’s found out that you can’t pick and choose the team that will.
The 2nd round pick keeps getting better every time the Falcons loose and we’ve collectively hope for the Falcons to loose every week. Like tomahawk stated it gives us a chance at grabbing a impact player for the future. Pioli’s managed to collect a pretty decent stash of picks for us next year.
Yeah, let's just keep matriculatin' the ball down the field, boys! ...
by oldchiefsfan on Dec 11, 2009 4:47 PM EST up reply actions
No offence to you guys, but i think that at this point in his career Tony had earned the right to say “I want a win a SB before I’m done. Please trade me.” I’ll compare it the the Bruins trading Ray Bourke. Tony had all the loyalty in the world for your team (just like Ray had with the Bruins) but he wanted to win a championship before he done. And lets be honest, that wasn’t going to happen in KC.
