WHo do we bring in?
Fred Taylor got cut from the Jags, could certainly help mentor Marshawn into being an all-around professional football player...not to mention, a one year deal would be reasonable if Lynch is out 4 or even 8 games, depending on how this unfolds. I would rather see a guy who has been one of the best in the league, but is slowing down due to age, rather than just slowing down because of injury, like Sean Alexander. There is also Dominic Rhodes, Lamont Jordan, Darren Sproles, Maurice Morris or Rudi Johnson.
I think from those, and there are a couple more, worthy of a back up spot not a starter (I wouldn't want to pay for that), but anyway, I like Rhodes, Sproles, and possibly Jordan. Even Morris is okay. i never liked Rudi Johnson. Sproles is a wild card, and Rhodes can be very productive in the passing game. i guess what would be best, is to get someone unlike Jackson or Lynch, so that we might just keep them aorund...like Sproles perhaps (a real scat-back) or Jordan, for his size. Morris would be good in a West Coast system though, which is what we run (?/sort of).
I like the idea of a rookie too, but if you could get Taylor for 1.5, no matter how old he is, it might be worth it. I would like to think the Bills could grab a RB in rds 3-5, but would you guys rather see the Bills shore up the RB depth chart with a rookie, or a stop-gap vet?
Poll
To shore up the RB depth chart during Marshawn Lynch's probable 4 or 8 game suspension, I would like to see a _________ brought in.
mid-round rookie RB (6 votes)
solid veteran RB (33 votes)
both a rookie and a veteran RB (7 votes)
