Bucs cut several veterans
The Buccaneers just cut several proven veterans in Warrick Dunn, Joey Galloway, Ike Hilliard, Derrick Brooks and Cato June. I think June and Galloway would def be worth a look by the bills. Cato June seems like the kind of coverage LB we need. The bills like to blitz Mitchell a lot so i think this would be a good fit. I also think a veteran WR like Galloway would be a valuable addition. I am aware he has the tendancy to be a burner like Evans, but having home run threats on both sides of the field can't hurt you can it?
Lemme know what you guys think.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

Cato June
I’m probably too biased to correctly evaluate June. Everytime I hear about June, I can only think of these two plays (watch #59):

Imagine June trying to tackle “Ricky Brown” and “Ronnie Williams”. That Kevin Harlan guy is too funny.
Great plays don't make great players; great players make great plays.
Those 2 plays show it all. We don’t need no stinking arm-tacklers!

guys slow down
Cato June would be a perfect fit in Buffalo. He is one of the better Tampa 2 linebackers out there. If we lose Crowell June may be the next best thing.
If we can finagle DE Brian Orakpo and C Alex Mack I will not complain about this team for a whole season. I promise.
I don't know how he did in Tampa,
but he got a big contract to leave Indy for a reason. I would definitely bring him in for a visit.
Bad boys, bad boys whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do
when they come for you?
definitely
there is no reason not to. I would probably want June as my second option after Crowell now that hes on the market. The only reason I’d want Crowell more is that he would be cheaper. Both are good options.
If we can finagle DE Brian Orakpo and C Alex Mack I will not complain about this team for a whole season. I promise.
I don’t think he got a big deal. It was a 3 year $12M contract, and he signed it about 3 weeks into free agency. He wasn’t exactly a highly sought after player as I recall that year.

Not highly sought at all.
Many people, including me, thought he would be snatched up rather early in the process.

To be fair
To be fair both plays involved jones-drew one of the toughest one on one matchups for a LB in the league. Also the bills seem to be a gang tackling defense that is quick to the ball, so he wont be put out on an island a lot. I like his coverage ability, and his overall play from his Indy days. He has a knack for the ball, which Fewell wants to see more of from this defense that def has potential.
June
June is solid, he has speed and is excellent in coverage and you make a great point about those highlights. June would be an instant upgrade potentially over Crowell as well.

Thing is...
I saw Whitner, Simpson, Mitchell, and Poz singled out multiple times last season. Often, it wasn’t that pretty.

Derrick Brooks
Id rather have derrick brooks. Great veteran to have around, still has some ability left and would be an upgrade over Ellison
ewwwwwwwww
you’d rather have Derek Brooks than Cato Juno? Didn’t Brooks only play on certain downs this season because he can’t cover anyone anymore? He’s 36 and finished.

i really didnt follow the bucs.. didnt realize he wasn’t an every down LB.. but i dont want cato june… i know when he was indy he had problems being undersized, im sick of the bills having under sized LBS… i would love for the bills to draft Ray Maualuga and put Poz outside, but thats not going to happen
roto world
i just looked on rotoworld and they say june’s options are going back to indy, the bills, and the bears. the bills have 2 big lb’s i think having one undersized guy in their is ok, especially if he bolsters your pass defense. i think june would be a better fit than crowder and prob cheaper too. he’s a playmaker who has more interceptions than any DB on the bills prob.
How much cap space do these guys want?
Holy cow!!!! They already led the league in cap space and now trimmed so much more.

They’re going to go after Haynesworth hard. They’re also rumored to covet Sanchez, and that might cost a pretty penny as well.

Right but they now have like $50M of cap space don't they?
Maybe they are clearing actual salary….. Even if they go after those two guys that’s still a lot of money to spend.

I understand the desire to have as much cap room as possible
But this is insane level cap cutting. I figured with all the space they would let Derrick play out the last year of his contract and let them man retire with some dignity, this sucks for him. As for the other guys, they were all injured/injury prone and underperforming for their contracts so the axing makes sense there.
Considering that the minimum spending level for this year is something like 112 million of your total cap space, this trimming is crazy, UNLESS, the Bucs are really worried about the upcoming possibly uncapped year, and want to cement as many pricey guys this year when they have the money to do so, and will try to coast the 1st couple of years of uncapped time/lockout.
I told the witch doctor that I was in love with the Buffalo Bills, and instead of telling me to say "Oh eeh oh oh ah, ting tang walla walla wing bang" in order to make me feel better he told me to buy a gun and end it.
They are making the upcoming FA much more interesting
That’s for sure. More LBs, more vet RBs and WRs. Hopefully with so much offer on the market prices may fall a bit.
Joey Gallaway
Gallaway would be a nice addition in my opinion. Veteren guy who can help steve Johnson and James Hardy.
How can you expect Lee Evans to teach Steve Johnson how to work the middle of the field? he can’t. Maybe Joey can. Joey works the middle more than lee evans. In addition. Gallaway would be an upgrade over josh reed as our #2.
Conclusion: Add Joey Gallaway. It makes a lot of sense.

Buffaloboy90, you're kidding right?
The only ‘middle of the field" Galloway works is the painted areas on the sidelines between the 20’s for players – he’s always hurt.
He is the king of the go, the out and the fade – doesn’t do crossing routes, never blocks and has T-Rex arms on misthrows. Oh and she’ll be 37!
