is that it cant possibly get worse at QB for at least twenty years right? So we can only look for better things to come for the next two decades right?

sorry three games isn't enough to cancel what i've witnessed
If we can finagle DE Brian Orakpo and C Alex Mack I will not complain about this team for a whole season. I promise.
Sure, but 27 of those Losman points came against the Jets in a game where he turned it over 4 times and averaged less than 4 yards per pass attempt. He was pathetic last season.
Are you making the argument that Edwards was good, or even average, against the same teams Losman played against?
When playing the same teams, both were pretty bad.
But one is the future of the Bills, and the other is the whipping boy.
Weird.
No, I am making the argument that JP was horrifically awful last season. There was only one player in the entire league who attempted as many passes as he did and still managed to have a lower yards per attempt stat. Losman turned the ball over 9 times last year and threw the ball 104 times. He got sacked 15 times. His play absolutely was the biggest factor that led a loss in every game he played in other than Arizona.
Edwards on the other hand averaged 7.2 yards per pass attempt. He had the 5th best completion percentage in the league last year.
Sure, great verbiage. But you ignored the question.
Edwards sucked against the same teams Losman did.
The whole team pretty much did.
But people ridicule Losman like getting rid of him makes the team better.
the reason ppl ridicule Losman is that
unlike you, we don’t just compare the same teams they played against, but their entire production. and when you compare that, Edwards is FAR ahead of Losman
by CanadianBillsFan on Feb 27, 2009 1:51 AM EST up reply actions
Why?
Seriously, why is it relevant that Edwards had good numbers against crappy defenses?
Both played like crap against AFCE teams.
But one is the franchise, and the other is constantly ridiculed.
And guess which one was the starter last year, and which the backup?
are you friends with JP?
I’m not even being condescending, its obvious your a JP fan and thats fine I respect that. But how can you defend a guy who you have watched throw away multiple games for poor decision making. Edwards is still green so there is hope, we have seen what JP can do and that is lose games
If we can finagle DE Brian Orakpo and C Alex Mack I will not complain about this team for a whole season. I promise.
THANK YOU!!!
Thronsen man, it’s nothing against you, but Losman was just not a good fit in Buffalo. who knows maybe he’ll play well somewhere else and you can gloat against us. We just don’t like JP and we’re happy he’s gone
by CanadianBillsFan on Feb 27, 2009 1:59 AM EST up reply actions
Im not a JP friend, Im curious though whether you ask other if they are friends with Bills players in a ‘non condescending’ fashion.
Im not even that big of a fan. Prior to the 07 season, I was one of the few voices on this board resisting the love.
But people who continually ridicule the guy, clearly think he is at fault for something. And what is it? Losing games that the starter also lost?
The fact of the matter is both our QBs played like crap against the ‘better’ defenses we played (and none of them were that great). Edwards wins and better stats came largely against 7 of the 8 worst defenses in the league.
If you want to say both are crap, go for it. Im with you.
But to say Losman is crap, but Edwards is a franchise QB, or even a QB who should be protected by not bringing in competition, is nonsense.
Lastly, I need to point out that this is a thread about Free Agents. Losman is, by far, the least likely person to figure into our Free Agent plans.
Edwards play on the other hand, is directly relevant to whether or not we get a real QB to come in.
Yet ridiculing Losman is celebrated, talking about Edwards is discouraged.
Fair and balanced.
again
i wasn;t being condescending, seriously. But look, you make a fine point. But no one has said Edwards is a franchise QB. we’re saying surround him with the talent to succeed. Fact is, both have not won but with questionable talent around them Edwards, with minimal experience, has made far less mistakes than Losman who after all these years should have at least displayed that his football IQ had risen enough to prevent stupid mistakes that he continued to make. Losman is mistake prone. Edwards has not shown that tendency yet. Doesn’t make him the franchise QB but it is time to move on from Losman
If we can finagle DE Brian Orakpo and C Alex Mack I will not complain about this team for a whole season. I promise.
Again, Im not the one starting these threads.
Im replying to people who think our team will be better now that Losman is gone.
It wont.
As for the ‘rookie’ thing. Cant remember if you were in the other thread or not. But if not, Edwards has already had more starts then Losman did at the start of the 2006 season (where Losman was #11 against tough defenses).
Around the midpoint of next year (if Edwards doesnt get hurt, haha), Edwards will have more starts then Losman has ever had.
The ‘new to the NFL’ thing has a sell by date, which many think has passed, and if not should be passed soon.
You might not be starting them
but no one is forcing you to respond with the same argument time after time. Just because someone makes a tiny JP joke that doesn’t mean that your keyboard is going to explode if you don’t win the internet argument.
http://www.twoeightnine.com
by twoeightnine on Feb 27, 2009 10:11 AM EST up reply actions
Man let it go
Losman is gone for a reason: he had more turnovers and NO FOOTBALL sense, the guy couldn’t even manage a game, which is the minimal requirement of being a QB!
by CanadianBillsFan on Feb 27, 2009 1:32 AM EST up reply actions
Heal thyself.
Im not the one starting posts about Losman.
And you people are deluded if you think he is the reason why this football team is crap.
0-4 in the AFC East, and Losman wasnt even on the field.
absolutly agree man
Losman wasn’t the only reason why we sucked, but we almost all feel better by not having him around
by CanadianBillsFan on Feb 27, 2009 1:36 AM EST up reply actions
I will if you want.
12 serious injuries in the six years since High School.
Missed playtime in around 50% of his starts in college, and around 20-25% in the NFL.
dude stop
We don’t want an Edwards v. Losman beating the dead horse fest. It’s the past, let’s hope the future is better!
~K
"I’m Kurupt with Buffalo Rumblings. I am worth hundreds!"
Again Im not the one ridiculing a backup QB.
And if we want to do the Losman Edwards thing, how about how Edwards was the 17th ranked QB against the 2nd easiest schedule in the league (including playing 7 of the 8 worst defenses), Losman 11th against the hardest schedule in the league.
Dont want to hear a defense of Losman? Dont ridicule the guy.

Broncos have interest in Cardinals’ Arrington
February 27, 2009 1:16 AM
Posted by ESPN.com’s Mike Sando
The Broncos are expected to visit with Cardinals free agent J.J. Arrington as they look to upgrade their situation at running back.
That was the word from John Clayton on “SportsCenter” a few minutes ago. The Broncos also have interest in Correll Buckhalter.
Arrington can be an effective change-of-pace back and kickoff returner. The Cardinals used him extensively in their four-receiver packages.

Bryant Johnson In Demand?
Friday, February 27, 2009
Posted By Mike Florio 1:20 AM
One player who is unexpectedly drawing some early interest in free agency is receiver Bryant Johnson.
Johnson signed with the 49ers last year after his rookie contract with the Cardinals expired. The Niners didn’t make a run at re-signing Johnson, who caught 45 passes for 546 yards last season.
We’re told that multiple teams are interested, but no specific teams have been identified yet.
If the Bills were a drug, I could only they were speed so I could lose some weight as well.

My thoughts in BOLD
Canty’s not a good fit for Redskins
February 27, 2009 1:23 AM
Posted by ESPN.com’s Matt Mosley
Canty
There are a couple of reports out there suggesting the Redskins will make a play for Dallas Cowboys defensive end Chris Canty. He’s a guy who’s been playing in a 3-4 scheme ever since he came out of the University of Virginia, and I think he’d be a poor fit for the Redskins.
This is a club that desperately needs to improve its pass rush (28th in the league in sacks). Canty is a versatile guy who can move inside in the nickel and do a nice job. He’s also decent against the run. But he’s another guy who might have six or seven sacks a game at the most.
The Redskins already have players like Canty. Andre Carter is a similar player who can stand up and block some passes from the line of scrimmage. The Redskins need players who will scare quarterbacks. Canty’s not one of those guys.
That said, he’s a great character and a guy who can help against the run. I just don’t think he’s the kind of guy you want to commit $17 million to. And that’s what he’s going to want. He’d be a much better fit with the Dolphins.
DAMN, 6-7 sacks a GAME Sando? Holy crap, if he was doing that, he WOULD be the 1st 100 million dollar defenseman, NOT Albert.
If the Bills were a drug, I could only they were speed so I could lose some weight as well.

Our new Guard?!
Per National Football Post:
Chiefs Pro Bowl guard Brian Waters asked the organization Thursday to release or trade him this offseason, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
Waters asked for his release two days after a brief meeting with new head coach Todd Haley and after being told by first-time general manager Scott Pioli that he had no interest in meeting with Waters, the source said.
Waters, according to the source, was offended and shocked by what he perceived to be the arrogance of Haley and Pioli. Waters’ meeting with Haley and follow-up phone conversations confirmed in the nine-year vet’s mind that the negative reports about Haley he heard from Arizona Cardinals players while at the Pro Bowl were accurate, according to the source.
The Cardinals players told Waters and tight end Tony Gonzalez that Haley, Arizona’s offensive coordinator, was aloof, condescending and ignored by veterans, the source said. Anquan Boldin, Kurt Warner and Larry Fitzgerald Jr. — Arizona’s offensive stars — were all members of the NFC Pro Bowl team.

"I’m Kurupt with Buffalo Rumblings. I am worth hundreds!"
it wouldn't surprise me either
but I’m going to be blissfully ignorant. He would have been beyond dumb to dump Dockery and not even consider finding a replacement. Chambers is a great back-up/role player, but he’s not going to improve the o-line.
John I.
Dockery might have had some sort of bonus coming up, which is the main reason for the release

I like Chambers
If we move Butler to LG, I think Chambers could be a good RG… now all we need is a center

don't agree
like I said, I like chambers, but I don’t think he’s starting material. Ask yourself this question, is Buffalo’s line better with Dock at LG and Butler at RG or Butler at LG and Chambers at RG. I have a hard time believing the latter is a better option.

if we have Birk or Brown at Center, yes
if we have anyone else, no

Adam Shefter on Brown
He reported here the same info we’ve heard about Jason Brown visiting the Rams, but also had this interesting nugget:
Speculation has run rampant that St. Louis is the favorite to land Brown…

You're not helping, John.

ok so lets recap the night
Major Signings for the Bills – none
Signings for the Bills – None

Housh update
per Matt Mosely at ESPN:
The Bengals are close to re-signing wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh, according to the National Football Post. The Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants are both interested in Houshmandzadeh.
Earlier in the day, Houshmandzadeh told the Cincinnati Enquirer that he hadn’t even talked to his agent Thursday. I find that really difficult to believe. Houshmandzadeh did acknowledge that quarterback Carson Palmer has been lobbying for him to stay.
Would the addition of Houshmandzadeh be enough to appease quarterback Donovan McNabb? I don’t think we’re going to find out.

Why would he want to return to Cincy?

REDSKINS MAKE MIDNIGHT CANTY CALL
Posted by Mike Florio on February 27, 2009, 2:00 a.m.
As expected, the Redskins have commenced their efforts to sign defensive end Chris Canty away from the Cowboys.
Per Albert Breer of SportingNews.com, the Redskins contacted Canty’s agent, Brad Blank, minutes after midnight.
Actually it might have been "minute" after midnight. As in 12:01 a.m. Because Breer posted his item on the PFT safe haven site at 12:04 a.m. EST.
If the Bills were a drug, I could only hope they were like speed so I could lose some weight as well.

Freddy Keiaho is now an UFA after Indy bypasses the RFA tag for him per espn.com
RFA update: Colts give up Keiaho’s rights
February 27, 2009 2:00 AM
Posted by ESPN.com’s Paul Kuharsky
The Indianapolis Colts are generally willing to let their linebackers go when they hit unrestricted free agency. They are letting Freddy Keiaho go a year ahead of schedule as they did not make a qualifying offer to the linebacker who started 14 games last season and 25 in his first three years.
The third-round draft pick in 2006 (93rd overall out of San Jose State) is now free to sign anywhere.
If the Bills were a drug, I could only hope they were like speed so I could lose some weight as well.
Youd’ think they’d at least give him the low tender. What is that, like $1M?

Makesyou wounder why they let him go…. and if he could add to the Bills… anyone know anything about him, cause I never herd of him.
by CanadianBillsFan on Feb 27, 2009 2:12 AM EST up reply actions
Freddy is 5-11 226, and rated a 69 (huh huh) by scouts, inc.
Their take is:
Keiaho is a three-year veteran the Colts drafted in the third round of the 2006 draft and has been starting for the past two years. He is a slightly-undersized linebacker who relies on his good nose for the ball as well as excellent short-area quickness. He is quick to locate the level of the ball and takes good angles to get to the play. He is quick to pull the trigger and explosive to the hole, when he needs to fill. He shows good hand use, but will get smothered by some of the bigger linemen around the league and tends to play the edges because of that. He will over-pursue at times, although he has come a long way when it comes to playing under control. He has excellent lateral range and will make plays from sideline to sideline. He is a downhill linebacker who is more effective going forward than he is when dropping into space. He is inconsistent when it comes to reading routes and will jump on the first thing he sees, at times. He does not have great ball skills when in the area of the pass and can be out-maneuvered or out-jumped to the ball by tight ends. He is highly productive and plays with an excellent motor, but won’t fit all schemes around the league.
If the Bills were a drug, I could only hope they were like speed so I could lose some weight as well.
He could be a fit here, though I REALLY don’t want to add an undersized player at LB.

Boley visiting Giants per PFT
GIANTS BOWLING FOR BOLEY
Posted by Mike Florio on February 27, 2009, 2:06 a.m.
Free-agent linebacker Michael Boley will commence his tour of potential new cities by visiting the Giants.
According to Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger, Boley will visit the Giants on Friday.
Boley was a fifth-round draft pick of the Falcons in 2005. He appeared every game in four seasons, starting 52 of them.
But he lost his spot as a starter during the 2008 season.
It surely didn’t help that he was arrested last May for allegedly assaulting his wife.

JETS EMERGE AS FAVORITE FOR BART SCOTT
Posted by Mike Florio on February 27, 2009, 2:23 a.m.
There are conflicting reports as to the first destination of free-agent Ravens linebacker Bart Scott.
Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com reported that Scott will visit with the Rams. Albert Breer of SportingNews.com reports that Scott will visit with the Jets.
Breer also reports that the Jets are the "early favorite" to sign Scott.
In New York, Scott would be reuinted with his former defensive coordinator in Baltimore, Rex Ryan. Ryan is now the head coach of the Jets.

Rumor that Goodell was warning teams about trampling into the pre-FA tampering circus this year.
Might explain why no 50 page contracts are being signed at 12.01. Or even 3.01.

Cigs for me for about a year
Worked as a security guard late at night, not a whole lot to do, and it got cold where I was working too. I was about a pack a week, some guys I worked with were closer to half a carton a DAY. To rich for my tastes!
If the Bills were a drug, I could only hope they were like speed so I could lose some weight as well.
My girl's dad goes through a can of chew a day........
been doing that for the last 45 years……..

If we can finagle DE Brian Orakpo and C Alex Mack I will not complain about this team for a whole season. I promise.
You work 3rd shift Poz? How do you ever find the time to do so much on Rumblings man?
If the Bills were a drug, I could only hope they were like speed so I could lose some weight as well.
Oh no

We've got some action going on! Per PFT, Jets make offer to KEMOEATU
JETS OFFER CONTRACT TO KEMOEATU
Posted by Aaron Wilson on February 27, 2009, 3:26 a.m.
The New York Jets are making a push to land burly Pittsburgh Steelers offensive guard Chris Kemoeatu, offering the 6-foot-3, 344-pound free agent a contract averaging at least $4 million annually, according to Rich Cimini of the New York Daily News.
Per the article, Kemoeatu could step into the Jets’ void at right guard created when the team cut Brandon Moore.
Known as "Little Kemo," because his older brother, Carolina Panthers defensive lineman Maake Kemoeatu, is "Big Kemo," the younger Kemoatu is also mulling over an offer from the Steelers.
Cimini noted that Kemoeatu played left guard for Pittsburgh last season to take over for Alan Faneca. Now, Kemoeatu could potentially wind up playing on the same team as Faneca again.
If the Bills were a drug, I could only hope they were like speed so I could lose some weight as well.
i dont understand
how the Jets seem to be so active again this offseason. Arent they -70 mil below the cap??
If we can finagle DE Brian Orakpo and C Alex Mack I will not complain about this team for a whole season. I promise.
With Coles let go and Moore, they freed up something like 20 mil almost
It was because both guys had two massive unguranteed bonuses
If the Bills were a drug, I could only hope they were like speed so I could lose some weight as well.
damn
they can replace coles in the first round and pick up Kemo to replace em
If we can finagle DE Brian Orakpo and C Alex Mack I will not complain about this team for a whole season. I promise.
Maybe, I think if Stafford or Sanchez is anywhere near their pick, they go with them
I think Clemens won’t see the field without a fight. I just hope JP is in on the fight, that would be high comedy
If the Bills were a drug, I could only hope they were like speed so I could lose some weight as well.
only if it came full circle and JP fumbled away a win to us....

ha!
there is no reason to rehash this old argument fellas. Lets just hope this offseason we give Edwards better weapons than we gave JP. How about a nice reciever and a good tight end. Oh wait,….our interior line is lacking ….
If we can finagle DE Brian Orakpo and C Alex Mack I will not complain about this team for a whole season. I promise.
Or 2007 or 2006, or.... etc. etc.
We haven’t given any of our recent QBs anything I would consider a full compliment of weapons. Some pistols maybe, but no MGs, no rocket launchers, no tanks
If the Bills were a drug, I could only hope they were like speed so I could lose some weight as well.
it is getting ridiculous
that we wait for the same needs every year. We have money this year lets hope they use it. I think our needs list from this year is about 70% the same as last years
If we can finagle DE Brian Orakpo and C Alex Mack I will not complain about this team for a whole season. I promise.
thats my opinion.....

REPORT: REDSKINS MAY NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD HAYNESWORTH
Posted by Aaron Wilson on February 27, 2009, 4:08 a.m.
Although the Washington Redskins are intrigued by the talent of Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, they may not be able to compete financially for his services, according to Jason La Canfora of the Washington Post.
Because of a tight salary cap situation, Redskins executive Vinny Cerrato has reportedly informed several NFL colleagues that Washington may not be able to ultimately land Haynesworth.
Per the Post, Cerrato’s outlook for free agency was to retain cornerback DeAngelo Hall, which the Redskins have accomplished, and add one more defensive player and an additional offensive player.
The Redskins have reportedly targeted Dallas Cowboys free agent defensive end Chris Canty, as reported earlier this morning by Albert Breer of SportingNews.com and Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean, as well as offensive guard Derrick Dockery.
Among the details for Canty’s visit today at Redskins Park after flying into Northern Virginia this morning: He’s slated for several meetings today as well as a swanky dinner followed by courtside seating at a Washington Wizards basketbal game.
According to Breer, Canty’s next destination is Nashville, Tenn., to visit the Titans on Saturday followed by a trip to Seattle on Monday to meet with Seahawks officials and eventually the San Francisco 49ers.

DOLPHINS TO HOST BERGER
Posted by Aaron Wilson on February 27, 2009, 4:53 a.m.
The Miami Dolphins have scheduled Dallas Cowboys free agent offensive lineman Joe Berger for a visit later today.
It’s a meeting that team officials set up not long after 12:01 a.m., in a continuation of the Dolphins’ aggressive style from a year ago, according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald.
Berger, who had a prior stint with the Dolphins between 2005 and 2006, is expected to sign with Miami unless "something goes horribly wrong."
Horribly wrong? Just trying to imagine what that would be. Would cutting in front of the lunch line ahead of Bill Parcells and Tony Sparano qualify? But I digress.
Berger is a lower-profile, less expensive center-guard option than highly regarded Baltimore Ravens center Jason Brown, who’s visiting the St. Louis Rams today and is expected to command an average annual salary of $7 million to $8 million.
That price tag precluded the Dolphins from making a run at Brown, and also led to Brown’s departure from Baltimore after starting every game last season.
Per Salguero, the Dolphins, who are expected to have a few visits today, won’t be making a run at Ravens free agent inside linebacker Bart Scott. Scott is drawing early interest from the New York Jets and St. Louis Rams.
The Dolphins have already addressed their linebacker position by retaining free agent Channing Crowder.
If the Bills were a drug, I could only hope they were like speed so I could lose some weight as well.
The Dolphins have at least 2 games a year where they dont have to play the 3-4. Which is why I had that tiny, secret bit of my heart that I allowed to hope for the Bills to sign Brown, given that we have a guaranteed 6 games a year against 3-4s.
But it looks like St Louis is going to walk away with this one.
We'll see about Brown, we got space, the only question is how we aim to use it
Personally, I want a true blue #2 WR and a good solid C out of FA, but that may be a pipe dream.
If the Bills were a drug, I could only hope they were like speed so I could lose some weight as well.
And finally the NFL wakes up gang! A slew of stuff is piling in from PFT
And its all here to view. But I am posting it below too for us lazy people:
SPICER DRAWS INTEREST FROM FALCONS
Posted by Mike Florio on February 27, 2009, 5:09 a.m.
The Jaguars released defensive end Paul Spicer on Thursday.
His next destination could entail a reuinion with his former boss.
Spicer, we’re told, has drawn interest from the Falcons. Their coach, Mike Smith, was Jacksonville’s defensive coordinator through the 2007 season.
ANTONIO SMITH GETTING INTEREST
Posted by Mike Florio on February 27, 2009, 5:13 a.m.
Several teams have begun to chase one of the members of the Cardinals’ starting defense who hit the market little more than five hours ago.
Per a league source, the Buccaneers, Giants, Eagles, Texans, and Falcons have invited defensive end Antonio Smith for a visit.
Smith is in the process of coming up with a priority list of the teams, and then will finalizing arrangements for visits.
Not on the list yet are the Chiefs, where Smith’s former defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast is a member of the coaching staff.
RAMS, BUCS BATTLE FOR BUCHANON
Posted by Mike Florio on February 27, 2009, 5:17 a.m.
The Rams aren’t only chasing members of the Ravens.
Per a league source, St. Louis is in contract discussions with cornerback Philip Buchanon of the Buccaneers.
But the Bucs remain in play to retain Buchanon.
Buchanon gushed about the promotion of Raheem Morris from defensive backs coach to defensive coordinator; the fact that Morris is now the head coach should be an even bigger factor in Buchanon’s desire to stay.
The one-time first-round pick of the Raiders also has played in Houston.
HAYNESWORTH’S PHONE "EXPLODED"
Posted by Aaron Wilson on February 27, 2009, 5:19 a.m.
Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth is in such heavy demand as a free agent that his phone "exploded," after midnight Thursday, according to John Clayton of ESPN.com.
No, Clayton didn’t mean that Haynesworth’s phone literally blew up. He’s just referring to the high level of interest for Haynesworth from at least six teams when the free agency bell rang at 12:01 a.m.
Six teams are reportedly willing to pay Haynesworth between $30 million and $40 million in guaranteed money with an annual average of $15 million.
"It’s going to be no problem for him to get $15-16 million a year," Clayton said during an NFL Live appearance early this morning.
Besides the Titans, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Washington Redskins are among the teams expected to bid on Haynesworth.
REPORTS OF MCFADDEN SIGNING WITH LIONS ARE PREMATURE
Posted by Mike Florio on February 27, 2009, 5:23 a.m.
Some reports are linking free-agent cornerback Bryant McFadden to the Detroit Lions.
Not so, we’re told.
Per a league source, there have been no discussion between McFadden’s camp and the Lions.
McFadden, a four-year veteran, started eight regular-season games in 2008 and all three postseason games for the Super Bowl XLIII champs.

Trying but the NFL ain't cooperating this year
Dang it.
If the Bills were a drug, I could only hope they were like speed so I could lose some weight as well.
Was just trying to think who our best FA pick up was of the Marv Levy era.
Could it possibly be Langston Walker (not including unheralded players like Jackson)?
Its pretty weak competition. Dockery, Royal, Tutan Reyes, Larry Triplett, Andre Davis, Peerless Price, Craig Nall…..
I know people are relatively excited about our 2008 FAs, but wow thats a pretty bad couple years there.
HOLY CRAP, Albert goes to the Redskins for 115 million!
From PFT
HAYNESWORTH TO THE ‘SKINS
Posted by Mike Florio on February 27, 2009, 5:34 a.m.
Well, Lance Zierlein was right. (Peter King, too.)
Multiple members of the media are reporting that defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth has agreed to terms with the Washington Redskins.
The news comes from both Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean and Adam Schefter of NFL Network.
It’s a seven-year, $100-million deal with an incredible $41 million in guaranteed money.
The maximum value of the package is $115 million.
As we’ve previously said, the fact that the Titans and the Lions weren’t major players in the pursuit of Haynesworth tells us all we need to know; both teams have decided that Haynesworth isn’t worth the money.
Otherwise, the team with which Haynesworth spent seven seasons or his former defensive coordinator (who now is the head coach in Detroit) would have stepped up to the plate.
But maybe Haynesworth won’t go soft now that he no longer has to worry about money. Maybe, as he recently said, he’ll be motivated to prove the naysayers wrong.
And maybe he won’t loose his cool and step on a guy’s unhelmeted head.
And maybe he won’t leave practice and come back with a pipe. (Not a pipe for smoking crack, but a pipe for cracking skulls.)
And maybe he’ll learn how to obey all posted speed limits and not cause accidents that require 25-year-old kids to get hip replacements.
And maybe he’ll learn how to fly, without a plane.
And maybe the Redskins finally will learn that this isn’t the way to build a championship football team.
If the Bills were a drug, I could only hope they were like speed so I could lose some weight as well.
Uh is it safe to say that when the NFL goes to an uncapped year that the Skins will approach that off season
like the Yankees did this offseason? Jimminy X-mas

Its just insane the money they toss around
And how in the HELL do they do it? I mean, most of the tricks used to get around the cap are shot this season due to the upcoming uncapped year, unless Snyder decided to just take the penalties from the league on this one.

KEVIN JONES GETTING SOME LOOKS
Posted by Aaron Wilson on February 27, 2009, 6:32 a.m.
Former Detroit Lions first-round running back Kevin Jones has been targeted as a free agent worthy of consideration by several teams, according to a league source.
Jones is on the radar of the Buffalo Bills, New York Jets, St. Louis Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Drafted in the first round out of Virginia Tech, Jones spent last season with the Chicago Bears.
He rushed for 109 yards on 34 carries last season, playing in 11 games with no starts.
Jones has 3,176 career rushing yards and 24 touchdowns with 143 career receptions for 1,011 yards and three touchdown catches.
Jones, 26, has a respectable 4.0 average per carry in 49 career starts.
Bodden to Pats?
