WR Free Agency Market Looking Thin
Housh has signed with Seattle and Washington has signed with the Flaming Thumbtacks. Minny and Cincy were both trying to acquire Housh. Might they now turn their attention to Coles? If so, does that mean that Coles might wait a little longer to see if he can use Buffalo's offer to up his price? Or, now that Housh has signed for a reported $8 million average per year ($40 million for 5 years--$15 million guaranteed) does Coles call OBD and up his asking price?

Coles to visit Bengals

I don’t blame the guy for trying. He’s just looking for the best gig for him. If you were a WR would you want Rosenfels, Edwards or Palmer throwing to you? If your goal is Pro Bowl appearances and ridiculous stats the Bengals are the easy call. If you’re looking for the best shot at the post season Minny is the no-brainer. Buffalo….well….the Bills were there first?

Am I the only one that thinks Palmer kind of stinks?

He was trying to see if Coles signed somewhere else to be the first to post it here. :-)

Our next target should be Ronald Curry
Last year was a wash as the team was in complete disarray and they had a rookie QB that clearly sucks big time.
In 2006 he caught 62 passes for 727yards 1tds (He was the number 3 receiver behind Moss & Porter, with Aaron Brooks & Andrew Walter) – no the best QBs
In 2007 he caught 55 passes for 717yards 4tds (He was #2 behind Porter with Josh McCown and Culpepper – Again, a very poor QB situation.
Curry is 6’2" 210lbs. Great size & speed with soft hands (Ex QB). He keeps his mouth shut and stays out of trouble.
I think he could come quite cheap and could come in and be an immediate contributor at the #2 wideout spot..

Curry is a decent option. I wouldn’t say he has great speed though. Average speed is more like it.
He would be a nice, cheaper option, that’s for sure.

He was Point Guard for the TarHeels too
It took him many years to develop and get his chances on Oakland’s team. He has mileage left, just not sure how much?

we are having a Panda like offseason, too long to sign any contract and it doesn’t happen at all.

I bet the Seahawks
release one of their ok receivers after signing TJ so another guy will hit the market. Too bad Deion Branch is short and except for the fact that he gets in the end zone about 5 times a year is identical to Josh Reed in production

even if Branch was available I wouldn't want him
the Pats got a steel when they got a 1st rounder for him. Branch looked better than he ever will be and that was because of Tom Brady, thats it

DJ Hackett is out there too. He’s a solid enough option.

Torry Holt?
Why don’t we just turn our attention to maybe Cato June or perhaps Sean Jones (though I’m certain OBD believes we can win with Whitner and Scott and Ko backing up Donte). We could trade a 4th or maybe even a 5th for Holt. So he’s lost a step, but defenses would still have to account for him.

here's a link
Speculation in Philadelphia has the Rams dealing Holt to the Eagles for wide receiver Reggie Brown and a draft pick.
Who knows if that’d happen though…
Also:
Keep an eye on 6-5, 326-pound Buffalo center Duke Preston, who played at Illinois and started 11 games for the Bills last season. Preston, Giants strong safety James Butler and Seattle tight end Leonard Weaver would be solid moves that will improve the roster without paying insane dollars.
hahahahaha

Haaaaaaa.......wait.....Gandy was in the SB??????
Could next years headline read; Eagles win SB….starting Center and MVP Duke Preston says, “I am going to Disney World, and screw you Ron, Kurupt, and Joe P.”

Hey I’ve never been vocal about Preston. I don’t think he’s terrible, but I don’t think he’s even average either. I spend most of my hate on Kelsay, but can be more of an equal opportunity hater if necessary.

Me, you and Ron
He can try and get a three for one deal
But Ron has a gun, so I think the odds are in his favor.
If the Bills were a drug, I could only hope they were like speed so I could lose some weight as well.

I think there is more value in hating Kelsay than value that Kelsay has on the football field.

How out of the question is it to trade for Boldin at this point? It appears they’re serious about upgrading their WR situation.

Theyre serious about upgrade EVERYTHING i would think
which is why I highly doubt a Bolden trade would happen, he would cost too much.
by CanadianBillsFan on Mar 3, 2009 12:04 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I don’t know how much worse off they’d be landing him. I honestly mean that. I do not understand the amount he’d cost the team. If Cassel and Vrabel (who will be exactly the kind of teacher that defense needs) were had for a 2nd round pick, i’d doubt the Cards could get a 1st for Boldin. I’ll go to the ends of the earth pining for him. I’d rather see some playmakers on the opposite half of that expensive line, than an expensive line with reserve guys catching passes.

How much did the Cowboys pay for Roy Williams?
Two first rounders plus a third right?
Vrabel is on the decline and Cassell is an unproven commodity. Boldin is entering the prime of his career and is a proven vet WR. They will get more than a first rounder for Boldin if they trade him.
