The question I have
is that, if Hangartner is as good as Chris Brown’s article described him to be, then how come he was not a frontliner starter previously? Something gotta be missing in this whole equation.

He wasn’t a starter because the Panthers had one of the best O-Line in football last year, particularly on the run, and Hangartner was stuck in the depth chart. When he did play, the line did not lose any quality. He’s a legitimate starter.

Exactly. It’s as simple as that Jordan Gross, Travelle Wharton, Ryan Kalil, Keydrick Vincent and Jeff Otah are better than he is. That doesn’t mean that Hangartner isn’t a really solid player though. That’s an OL that only gave up 20 sacks (6th fewest in league) despite Delhomme being a guy who has never been all that good at avoiding them. Carolina averaged 4.8 yards per carry and scored an absurd 30 rushing TDs.

And Hangartner started like 8 or 9 of those games overall. He’s the real deal, and a deffinate upgrade for our O-Line
