My Mock Draft 1-4
I dont know how accurate this will be but this is how i would like it to go
1) Aaron Maybin/ Brain Orakpo: IK some fans aren't high on either of them but they would help our rush and IMO we have the team and coaches to get them to work and perform
2) Mack/ Robinson: Mack is a toss up because yes he is a center and he can play guard so all in all he could be a good prospect and Robinson is the prolly the best guard in this draft
3) Tyrone McKenzie: He has the versitility to play either outside position and i think he would help us out
4) James Casey/ Ingram: Both are extremely athletic and could easily help our TE and Trent out...Even tho there was a post up talking about teams with lackluster production from the TE I believe it will benefit Trent
Alas I am only 15 years old and new to this sight, so this is all i could muster up.
Would love some constructive criticisms. Thanks for ur time guys and i have always felt welcome here
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

1) Maybin/Brown: I don’t think Orakpo has what it takes to play 4-3 DE
2)Mack/Robinson: Right there with you.
3)Mckensie: Had to look this guy up, and I got to tell you, not a bad option. Not exactly starting material as a all down LB, but I think he’d do the good job in tandum with Ellisson on his way to eventually become our starter. Really not a back pick at all.
4) NEILSON!: sorry I don’t like either Casey or Ingramm. I much prefer what Neilson brings to the table as a total package.
Not big on your forth pick, but seeing as it’s the fourth round and you did ok in the first 3, it’s not a bad draft at all.
Good job kid.

Thanks man much appreciated
and about round 4 i have to admit i forgot who the other tightends were that could possibly be around and kinda just went with those 2
by Parrish11rules on Mar 23, 2009 6:37 PM EDT up reply actions
If you can still get Tyrone McKenzie in the third round, then this draft is ideal. If I were to do a mock it would be almost identical to this.
CanadianBillsFan, I strongly doubt that you can get Nelson in the 4th round.
My second favorite way to set up a mock (2nd fav to this) would be to take Shawn Nelson in the 2nd round and then McKenzie if he’s there in the third or BPA like a DT or S if there isn’t a LB who gives you good value. You then take LB/OG in either order in the 4th and 5th and probably another OL in the 6th.
My only constructive criticism is that you change poll option F to D (and I’m actually OK with mis-numbering the options, it happens) OR you should change the abbreviated “U” to the full spelling “you”. If nothing else you avoid a letter combination that kind of jumps out.
Holy crap!
Someone younger then Brian! By a lot too!
I like the first three ideas. I don’t really care for either of those TEs but I realize that I am in the minority there so I won’t kill you for it. I guess I would be only slightly upset if the Bills pulled it off on draft day.
The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.
I'm as young as Brian.
What’s that supposed to mean???

Hey, if I have my choice of the two, I’m taking Megan Fox also. And for the record all I said was that Miley Cyrus was kinda cute, nothing more, and anything more that was inferred was not done so by me.

I kid. She is pretty good, she sleeps about 11 hours a night and takes a 1 1/2 hour nap during the day. She can be a bit of a handful to get her to get to sleep but that has more to do with the size of my apartment then anything else.

What’s you point old man?
by CanadianBillsFan on Mar 23, 2009 8:35 PM EDT up reply actions
Weird, that I am one of the older people here
Strange, everywhere else I am its as one of the younger people.
If the Bills were a drug, I could only hope they were like speed so I could lose some weight as well.
29 in July, my wife is soon to be 36
And the vast majority of my coworkers at my company are mid 30s to mid 50s, very very strange world I live in. When in college since I did football and track, I hung out with most of the seniors and juniors, so when I got to be a senior like 70% of my friends had already graduated, it was really strange.
If the Bills were a drug, I could only hope they were like speed so I could lose some weight as well.
I'm the exact opposite actually
I’m in my 4th year of university and I have two left. Plus I’m taking next year off studies for familly reason. So I’ll be 27 before I actually start teaching. My problem is that everyone I know right now is younger than me. Everyone in my classes is like 21-22, my wife/girlfriend/spouce/whatever the heck you want to call her, is 21.
So I like it here, I’m in the young crowd again.
by CanadianBillsFan on Mar 23, 2009 11:46 PM EDT up reply actions
Same here. I’m the youngest in my family and most of my friends are about 7-8 years older then me. My wife is even older.

P.S. I’m celebrating being the young one again, everywhere I go, I’m usually the old one.

WA – you can feel young compared to me. These guys are thinking Megan Fox. Bo Derek is still ringing my bell….
Hey, she was perhaps the only white woman I have ever seen who could rock corn-rows convincingly

yeah but thats still boarderline… she’s very attractive though… but I think I’ll stick to Megan Fox and Evangeline Lilly

Max Unger
Why is Max Unger never on the “list” for the 2nd rounder?
I like many of your picks, and hope something similar could work out for the Bills. I am really liking McKenzie, for the same reasons discussed previously. Another guy that I am becoming high on is Clay Matthews. He has a good pedigree and has out shined his collegiate teammates thus far in the pre draft workouts and the like. I also like Ingraham. I am not too worried about needing a balanced TE. The Bills tend to see the balanced tight ends, which leads to solid but totally unspectacular players like Fine or Robert Royal. I would be fine with a swing in the opposite direction.
Round 2 could be an interesting spot. I think Mack is gone (Steelers at 32) and I think Robinson could be gone. i like labill’s idea about Unger. His versatility could be very valuable.
Maybin is a concern for me in round 1. I think the bust factor is quite high. I don’t buy his ability to play a 4-3 end, despite his freakish Barry Bonds like muscle gain. Maybin might be great, and I know many here believe he will, but I think the bust risk is quite high. I guess he is the definition of a boom or bust prospect
I think a lot of ppl think the bust factor on Maybin is high, But I think (and I’d like to think other ppl share this opinion) that the possible rewards that Maybin could bring outweigh the bust factor. With the kind of talent and physical ability that he has, Maybin is a chance I’m willing to that.
All that being said, I’d still prefer Everette Brown.
by CanadianBillsFan on Mar 23, 2009 8:39 PM EDT up reply actions
Personally....
I think Unger is overrated….
I like his versatility and ik people say the same about Mack
But i just dont see Max with the team
Maybin is a huge risk
I like Orakpo in the first round by he will obviously be gone by #11.
Maybin is too much of a risk.
I’d take:
1. Pettigrew- this is good value, best player at his position, has pro bowl potential
2. Robinson- slides right into starting left guard position
3. Lawrence Sidbury- DE- Richmond- pass rush specialist, will eventually start
4. Chris Baker- DT- Hampton- character concerns, but at this point talent trumps character
Is Baker really projected in the area of the fourth? That aside, I’d still avoid him- he wasn’t even at the top of PSU’s depth chart when he was dismissed, and I don’t think a good year at Hampton means a whole lot in the grand scheme of things.
John Madden told me 90% of the game was half-mental...

Yo, Harry-
Great start…and I agree about NOT taking Maybin. I would love to get all four of these guys. This would be a great draft, an “A” grade! Ideally, if we could more down and pick up another early pick (example- trade our #11 to Detroit for their picks at #20 and #33), then we might also be able to get someone like Barwin (Cinci) or Johnson (GT) with that extra pick, and still get the others you mentioned., making it an A+ draft!
And Pettigrew has very little upside or potential whichever you prefer.
drafting petti would be just like drafting a DE who can play the run but not rush the passer for us, just doesnt make sense, as a matter a fact he’s to our offense like tyson jackson would be to our defense, and i think for the most part everyone agrees we don’t need that. just like we don’t need a blocking TE we already have two of them. Yeah he may be a little bit better blocker, but how much better? and is that worth an 11th overall selection
having the 2nd worst pass rush in the league i don’t think we can afford to wait until round 3 to take a DE, why draft mediocre players at one of the most important positions in the game, and use our first round pick on a position that has little importance in the grand scheme of things. Now i understand everything is relevant and their are a lot of variables, but i just don’t understanding
Nice work, man
Not to echo everyone else, but it’s nice to know I’m not the youngest one around here (I think Brian’s a year older than me?).
Just because I’m curious- you left Beckum out of your TE’s, are you not as high on him? Personally, I think he could be an effective end, and can be had at a much higher pick because of the injury (honestly, had he been healthy this year, he might be a 2nd rounder. You know, if you think like a massive Big 10 homer).
As has been said- welcome to the site, man. Most of us don’t bite (well, I make no promises about Joe P.).

About Beckum
I was trying to draft for our needs and where they could potentially fall… not necassarilly where we could get them
so when i took the tight ends i didnt think he would be around but if we could i would like to get him… just didnt seem to work so well with my draft

I’m not sure I would be completely enamored with any player that the coaches might ask to contribute on offense or defensive immediately who will be available in the 4th round. Maybe a DT?
Derek Fine contributed last year.
I think a fourth round TE could contribute year 1. Maybe not in a huge capacity but he would have been on the field sooner if it hadn’t been for his injury.

Tyrone McKenzie
I like McKenzie a lot. He’s a big guy at 6’2’’ 242 LBS. He had a decent 10 yd dash at 1.6. He had 79 solo tackles which ranked 6th in the nation. He’s produced everywhere he’s been (he’s a transfer).
If you like McKenzie, two other linebackers you might be interested in are ILB Frantz Joseph and OLB Gerald McRath. Frantz had 84 solo tackles and looks great on youtube. McRath had 78 solo tackles and ran a 1.48 in the 10 yd dash and has a sub 4.5 40 yd dash. Only problem with McRath is that he weighs only 231 LBS. However, I think McRath could be the best out of the three.
Despite all of that, I think the answer to the LB problem is taking Clay Matthews in the 1st round. However, if Raji, Brown, or Orakpo are there then I don’t think then things get difficult
