Greer signs with Saints
Jabari Greer found a new home this afternoon in New Orleans. The writing was on the wall when the Bills signed Drayton Florence last night, but we here at Buffalo Rumblings still salute Greer for earning his new contract the right way in Buffalo.

Congrats Greer
I will miss you.
Bad boys, bad boys whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do
when they come for you?
After reading that piece on Greer,
I can’t seem to remember why the Bills couldn’t re-sign him. Maybe he just wanted out of Buffalo?

Oh. Uh, will you hold my wallet for me while I take the test, please? There's a thousand dollars in there... or maybe there isn't. Know what I mean?
Anyone see contract details?
It seems like the CB’s are signing lower than I thought they would.
Thanks Greer, you deserve it. Good luck
How many years can we go without making the playoffs...eventually the odds go in your favor.........right?!?!?
4 years, $23M

Less than 6M per. We offered 5 right? Where’s the hometown discount Jabari?

Ouch Jabari!
He isn’t a noticeable upgrade over Randall Gay, Tracy Porter, or Usama Young.

He was probably giving the Bills a chance to match some of the offers he was getting. Is it coincidence that he signs with the Saints, the first team that he was visiting with after the Bills signed Florance? I don’t think so.
The Bills chose to save money and go with Florance.
The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.
I think he paniced after seeing us do that, said "OH CRAP" I have NO leverage now
Better take what money I can and RUN.
Well Greer, have a good one, try not to punch out the DLine and LBers after they leave you strung out and burned for another TD because they make our pass rush look GOOD>
If the Bills were a drug, I could only hope they were like speed so I could lose some weight as well.
There's a very good chance that he gave it to NO.
He grew up in Houston and Tennessee and both of those areas have a lots of Saints fans. Who knows who he grew up rooting for.
Nice thoughts from Greer as he leaves
“I want to thank the fans for the support that they gave me,” Greer told me. "I worked hard to become the player that I’m becoming, and I think they recognized that. The fans, they embraced me and supported me so much.
“Buffalo will always have a special place in my heart. I couldn’t have had a better foundation for my career than what I had in Buffalo.”
Greer said he’s already looking forward to the Saints’ trip to Ralph Wilson Stadium this year.
The Bills tried to re-sign him, but when Greer’s tour of prospective employers dragged on, they decided on Tuesday to sign Drayton Florence for two years and $6.6 million. The Bills also have sophomores Leodis McKelvin and Reggie Corner.
“It’s the next step in my life,” Greer said. "But I don’t feel any regret or any remorse because I gave 110 percent of me. I appreciated it, and at the end of the day this is the game of football, and things change.
“I’m appreciative of everything that’s happened in Buffalo. As you grow, sometimes you have to part ways. That’s what we did.”

OBD make a good decision?
IMO, sounds like the Bills made a good bussiness decision. We saved by signing Florence, and we still have our depth at CB (obviously contingent on his performance). If florence plays at the same level of greeer, I think we will be in good shape this season. Nothing against Greer, but isnt Florence more of a physical corner?

Yeah, and thats why Florence is a nickle back.
we have our two starts in the Mac’s

Thanks for your time Jabari
Best of luck with the Saints. I think the fact that he’s pretty much a defacto starter for the Saints also had a part in his decision. I know if i had the choice between two teams and about the same amount of money, but I’d only be garanteed to start with one of them, I’d chose the team where I’d be starting. think that might have been what happened here?

good move
hello fellow bills FANatics. Im new to the blog and this is my first post. ive been reading all of your posts for a long time now and wanted to jump in if nothing else then to tell you all that it is very enjoyable to read the posts. I think we made a good move not resigning greer, and bringing in florence. he is more physical and that is what you want from a nickle back. And he can play safety. my 2 cents. go bills!
Welcome to the blog.
So many new faces in the last few weeks. Good stuff.

Just as I expected
The Saints sign him, just as they signed Jason David and Randall Gay the past few years. Hopefully, Greer won’t stink like they do.

You could have said the same thing about Gay.
Their “playing for a contract years” were almost exactly the same. Gay had 1 more tackle and 1 more INT.

i don’t get them impression from Greer. i don’t know anything about Gay, but from watching interviews and reading what Greer says – the guy just likes football and wants to be better

Saints
Just don’t have a good team. They cannot stop the run and they can’t run. They don’t have a complimentary back to Bush and they constantly get run over on defense because they don’t have someone to clog up the middle. Vilma is a good LB, but at 230lbs he isn’t a run stopper. Good luck Jabari, I don’t see it working out for you though.
The time to deliver is now and if you fail to do so you will no doubt witness the consequences first hand.
