Who is the most disliked Bill in recent years?
Since there has been so much animosity floating on BR and other blogs about the Jason Peters situation, I wanted to see what everyone thought about their most disliked Bills players in recent history. Personally I don't think it is fair to do this pool without doing one that gives the most like player, etc. However this might be a little therapeutic for some and telling for others how the Peters situation mounts up against some other player shortfalls in recent history.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

My hatred of Ko is reserved for Madden. Mike Williams also sucks, but he didn’t force the Bills to pick him.
recent history?
It has to be McGahee…
Now it you’re talking about this past year or so, then yeah, it’s Peters

The rest of you go get the goods on Stan. His mom grounded him once for setting something on fire. Let's find out what that something was and then lie and say it was a puppy.

Duke Preston
I spent more time this season alone yelling at him than everybody else on the list combined. He single-handedly redefines the word suck.

i dont want to start a firestorm
but it is so clearly JP Losman for me. The man has caused me more irregular heartbeats than anyone else on the list. I also was at the game in the meadowlands when we blew the win the against the Jets so that is fresh in my mind.
Nonetheless, his holding onto the ball and turnovers were too much for me, at least in terms of recent Bills.

Brandon Rodd!! Our best player.
Poz, Im with you
All the tools and no tool box. This guy lacked heart and had trouble reading Ham and Eggs much less 2 deep coverage. And the worst part is seeing him out in Buffalo on Fri and sat nights wasted before games. They guy would cringe at the thought of football when away from OBD. Im wondering if he has gotten a sniff yet. Anybody hear anything?
actually
rotoworld put up a quick blurb on him yesterday saying that JP Losman has so far garnered absolutely zero interest from any team. They were saying he’ll probably get calls after the draft and camp starts.
Talk about a fall from grace…

Talk about harsh punishment, I mean even Joey Harrington got a backup job in Mianmi and then in Atlanta…. I,m sure someone will need a third stringer somewhere in the far future ;-)

HA!!!
The CFL is throw first league andneeds QB’s that can make GOOD descisions… I don’t even think that the Argoes would take a chance on JP.

NO WAY it is JP Loseman!!!
I am not saying he was a good QB, but he did try his best. We worked hard, was involved with the community when he was the top dog, and took his demotion like a man. If Jason Peters acted like half the man Loseman was, we would be getting his big pay day.

Agreed
As much as I dislike Losman, he’s disqualified from wining this for the same reason Robert Royal is: he gave it his all every time he was on the feild… he just sucked.

Two types of dislike
There are the types of guys that you dislike because watching them play makes you cringe (BG style, read: Chris Kelsay, see also Losman, JP), but otherwise seem like good enough dudes.
And then there are guys you’d just like to kick in the nards (yea you Peters).
The latter category leaves more of a bitter taste in my mouth no matter how good they play.
Your list is what mine would like too in those categories
All three of those guys I dislike in different ways.
If the Bills were a drug, I could only hope they were like speed so I could lose some weight as well.
I'm glad Henry wasn't on the list...
he always ran hard and would play injured…Willis, on the other hand, should be the most hated man because he played hard when it was beneficial to him and he took the most direct way out of town: by insulting the city and its people
"I'm going to talk to Mike and see what he has to say and see what he thinks he needs. But there are going to be some changes. What's that old song? 'There are going to be some changes made'? Frankly I forget the words beyond 'there are going to be some changes made.'" -Ralph Wilson, Jr.
agree about Henry
I was always a huge Henry fan and I remember being pretty mad at the Bills for drating McGahee and giving him the boot.
I guess they saw his troubles coming though. There is no other reason for taking a chance on an injury prone player when you have a 1400 yard, 14 TD runner.

He was a top 5 value pick that they got at 21.

Drew Bledsoe and Willis McGahee
They would be my picks, but Robert Royal was pretty bad too.
If this wasn’t about players but members of the organisation I’d say Tom Donahoe.
whoa whoa Drew Bledsoe?
why?

Yeah, say what you will about Drew (immobile, bad descisions, sack machine) he actually had a few good years for us. I remeber being disapointed when they dropped Bledsoe for Losman… and that disapointment in Losman still lives on.

same thing for me....I thought Drew was nothing but a pro while he was here.

He was nothing but a pro up until he lost his starting role to Romo, and even then Romo wouldn’t be half the QB he is today if Bledsoe hadn’t taken him under his wing.

I voted Williams
Even though it wasn’t his fault that we picked him, the picking of him put us back for years.

Peters
he’s an idiot…..and last year when I went to a game the hate from the fans was 40% Peters, 60% Robert Royal….and now it’s 99% hate on Peters, 1% on Jauron….
MARVelous - "I went from America's team to North America's Team" Terrell Owens
and now it’s 99% hate on Peters, 1% on Jauron
That’s only because it’s difficult for Jauron to screw up challenges, clock management, and overall game plans in the off season. Don’t worry, we’ll start to see a shift back to Jauron soon enough.

I voted Losman
The Jets game was definitely the last straw! So many problems, trading up to draft him, drafting him, his haircut, the sacks, the ints, the fumbles – what a waste. Does remind me of the hated Rob Johnson in a lot of ways. These 2 are mostly due to play.
For crappy human being issues 1. OJ 2. Travis Henry 3. Al Cowlings (see 1)
JP Losman?
Bills fans baffle me sometimes.
Travis Henry has 9 children with 9 different mothers and is thrown in jail for intent to distribute cocain but we hate JP because he quoted Yoda?
It sucks that JP didn’t work out for us but everything I heard about the guy I loved. He loved Buffalo and he was an interesting interview. Also, you look at his career here and his numbers werent that terrible. You people make me sick.
by TrentEdwardsHoF2018 on Apr 16, 2009 7:59 PM EDT reply actions
Did you watch him play?
Sometimes numbers don’t tell the whole story. JP probably has a better passer rating than Jack Kemp- but who is a better QB?
Anybody that watched JP play, especially the last 2 years, has to say he’s the worst 1st round pick in recent memory. He not only didn’t win games, he lost them single handedly. It’s more than he just “didn’t work out for us”.
However, like I said, OJ and Henry are on the very lowest level as far as character goes.
by o.c.blazerfan on Apr 16, 2009 8:28 PM EDT up reply actions
I'm not saying he was good, or even an average QB. He wasn't good.
The fact remains that when you pick up a QB in the first round there is a very good chance that he will not pan out. I would wager that close to 40% of all 1st round QBs are “busts”. JP was a bust. Lets move on and maybe not hate the guy.
I would also argue that there have been FAR WORSE busts than JP Losman. He wasn’t horribe for us when he started. He was merely bad. I’m not hating the guy for it though. Its disgusting listening to Bills fans talk about him.

I don’t like his play. That’s reason to dislike him.

Losman
I actually don’t dislike Losman and I wish him all the best if he gets a second chance some where else.
I think his development was stuffed from the start- he came to a team with no o-line to protect him and a lack of decent weapons for him to throw to.
I agree his decision making, ball-hogging, fumbling and poor accuracy at times lost us games but ask yourself how much of that is done to the QB and how much to bad calls, bad line and poor field position of receivers?
I think the Bills had moved on from him the moment Mularkey went and there was no hope for JP from that point on.
I hope they’ve learnt their lesson this time around with Trent and will build the line and the receiving talent to allow him to prosper. Getting TO, even for 1 year, is a step in the right direction and drafting a good TE will be the second. Bring on Pettigrew.
QBs
While ythinking this over, I made the sad realization that I have spent far too much time screaming at Bills QBs over the last decade or so. Johnson, Bledsoe and Losman are very different types of QB, but they all shared the uncanny knack of finding a way to get nailed from the blindside at the worst possible moment. Is this part of the team’s playbook?
I’ve ripped apart my vocal chords by begging, then screaming at these three stiffs to hit the receiver, then to throw the ball out of bounds, and finally to PLEASE not fumble when they get hit.
All in vain. So while I can’t pick all three, I’ll choose the prototypical washout. A player whose contract still causes me to scratch my head. A player who – and this seems incredible to think back on – had enough vocal supporters to turn Bills fan against Bills fan. The one and only Rob Johnson.
By the way – I wonder if the “great” Chuck Dickerson still sleeps in his Rob Johnson pyjamas.
One thing I don't get...
Why was everyone so upset over Losman getting nailed, coughing up the ball, and losing the game for us last year? Bills fans are a funny folk.
I remember watching that game/play, and not really caring about the outcome at that point.
by TrentEdwardsHoF2018 on Apr 17, 2009 11:27 AM EDT reply actions
what's the point of watching if you don't care about the outcome?

How can a Bills fan not care about the outcome of a game?
No, we weren’t making the playoffs, but we were playing the JETS. Do you like the Jets?? Do you want the Bills to lose to the Jets? Come on now.
I was watching it with someone who became a Jets fan only when they signed Favre, and to watch the Bills (Losman) fumble away a sure victory was excruciating. Most Bills fans I know take it a little too hard when we lose, but we’re die hard fans. That’s what we do.
How about Russ Brandon?
With the way this off season has gone, it’s gotta be the new guy in charge. Now news that more games are headed north of the border? My vote is for the guy that’s slowly taking the team out of town.
There has been speculation about more games heading north.
Nothing definite. I think the Bills have had a good offseason. Russ Brandon and the rest of the front office are doing a lot of good things for this team. If they can have a good draft, not even a great one, we will be a better team on opening day than we were after the last week of the season.
