Taking a defensive end would create a logjam at the position, but the Bills have floated Chris Kelsay's name as a trade possibility, according to a league source.

this would be great
hes right, bills need to probably get rid of a DE, might as well be the over-paid worthless one.

What would be Kelsay's value?
A third rounder? Maybe a 4th b/c of his contract?
by Renegade23 on Apr 17, 2009 9:24 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Less
Far less. I’d be thrilled if Buffalo could swap an early 4th for a late 3rd. Okay, maybe the Bills would have to throw in a couple of hundred pounds of Buffalo Wings for the receiving teams’ annual front office BBQ.
I’m guessing Kurupt would foot the bill for the wings…

And a set of snuggies and shamwows too
Kelsay would be good for a 6th at this piont due to his bloated contract.
If the Bills were a drug, I could only hope they were like speed so I could lose some weight as well.

Haha. Noooo. We’d be lucky to get a six.

I’d settle for a seventh, a bag of footballs and a used washing machine.

we'd be lucky
in a fantasy world to get a 6th….I’d take a meal at applebee’s for him….

I think Kurupt may have just had a stroke
What could Buffalo get for Kelsay? He’s an underproductive depth guy with a big contract who really only fits a Tampa 2 style defense. Is there any Tampa 2 team desperate enough to give anything of value for Kelsay?
Could he be a salary cap casualty?

tampa bay?
didnt they cut a bunch of players?

Yeah, I think they’re still under the league minimum team salery, hey need to take on cash, and Kelsey could do that :P
by CanadianBillsFan on Apr 17, 2009 9:58 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Yeah, but I think we'll get back, at best, some used footballs
And maybe some anti-fungal cream

and I’d still call that a good deal.

We have 10M in salary cap space right now...
Or somewhere close to it. And we currently have less actual salary on the books than we did last year.

And wih OBD trying to get rid of Parrish and Kelsey, we can move that up to about 17M in cap space, which would be VERY nice.

I think Kurupt just died and went to heaven.

I can only imagine Kurupt’s status if the Bills followed that up by drafting Everette Brown.

Here is my queston at this point though
When in the H E Double Hockey Sticks did the Bills become me playing Madden? I mean seriously, Rhodes being signed, Kelsay and Roscoe possibly traded the same weekend we unload a pissy Peters, what in the world is happening here!
If the Bills were a drug, I could only hope they were like speed so I could lose some weight as well.

A desperate FO is finally making some moves. Hopefully the draft itself will be quality.

Maybe Russ Branden is a big Madden fan and thats where he learned how to be a GM. Either way, if we manage to trade Kelsey, Roscoe and Peters in the same week, this would be the best off-season week EVER!

Kelsay has started for the past 4 seasons, in which he has, um, amassed 12.5 sacks…or about 3 per season. I think I just threw up a little.

A dash of Pepper
So I log on to post this and well…it’s already in black and white. Let’s give it up for the GREAT manager we have here-Brian Galliford everyone!!!
Ok, CRAZY talk time. What if we:
1) Trade Roscoe to KC for a 3rd then
2) Give Carolina a call and send them 28, 75 and Kelsay for, yes Peppers. Would they bite? We can afford to throw ca$h at Peppers w/ the Malcontent formerly known as our LT gone and Kelsay’s contract off the books.
Again, not sure if the Panthers would go for this, BUT…essentially a Peters, Kelsay, and a 3rd for Peppers, a 4th, and a 6th (possibly better) sounds good to me! Plus, we’d still have a 3rd AND if Peppers really insists on playing LB (I know, I know-in a 3-4) then we could design schemes for him to play SAM in certain situations.
Ahh…the speculation NEVER ends!
by BBFan4Ever on Apr 17, 2009 9:45 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Plus Peppers doesn't want to play for us
He only wants a few teams… NYG, NE, etc.
by dabillsr1 on Apr 17, 2009 9:48 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I can't see any team wanting to pick up Kelsay for any pick this year or
any pick higher than a 6th round. If you ask Kurupt, we might have to give another team a draft pick just to take Kelsay off our hands.

Kelsay and our 7th for nothing in return is probably a fair trade

I’m thinking your closer t reality than you think. If OBD truly wants to trade him, I’m thinking we’d have to trade Kelsey and our 7th for MAYBE a 6th round pick.

I can hear K rejoincing right now
And I think I can hear him screaming “TRADE! TRADE! TRADE!” too… and I think I’m going to join him. I mean while OBD is in the traiding mood, if a team offers us a bag of footbals for Kelsey, I’d take it!
by CanadianBillsFan on Apr 17, 2009 9:54 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Ahem, let me start for you then CBF.
TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE! TRADE!
Whew, got that out of my system now!

It’s Buffalo Rumblings’ worst kept secret. By the way, Kurupt doesn’t believe the Bills need any pass rush help, either ;-)

So does this mean
Fred Jacksons contract will be the next thing to come?
by The Wagon on Apr 17, 2009 10:06 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I would put good money on that now
With the Peters logjam cleared out of the way, I think the Bills will now go forward quickly with any unresolved business they have any other players before the draft.

The Colts called
They are offering a Jim Sorgi game worn jock strap. I think we should make the deal.

Anyone else wondering where K is on this?
I’d expect him to be extaticly all over this by now… maybe he saw “the Bills have floated Chris Kelsay’s name as a trade possibility” and had a storke.

I saw it on the news
K is currently running through the streets of New York, nude, in drunken euphoria at the mere possibility that the Bills could dump Kelsay.

floated Chris Kelsay
I don’t know about you guys, but that line reminded me of my last trip to the bathroom :-)
