Funny feeling (course its not worth much)
I think the Bills will go LB at 11.
I have stated my desire for E.Brown and B. Pettigrew. But, as of late many have been starting to think that OBD isnt high on the DE available and Pettigrew is a reach (not unusual for the bills). On a need and impact player that can start week 1, LB looks to be that position. When ranking draft prospects, a position of need makes the players grade more attractive.
Even tough, our Offense can't score pts, and now has Q's at LT. I think a Matthews or Cushing could give our Def that 1 player it needs to get over the hump (as long as schobel plays). I think the best value at 11 is LB.
I think the top 10 will end up with these selections (not in order):
2 QBs (stafford, sanchez)
4 OT (smith, monroe, smith, oher)
1 DT (raji)
2 WR (macklin, crabtree)
1 LB (curry)
I just think that OBD wouldn't have traded Peters unless they thought someone currently on the roster could manage the LT spot as well as any rookie drafted (doesn't mean they wont draft a LT). I think the value left to on the draft board matches well with our need for a LB over a DE. IMO Oher will be gone and leaves OBD to "go fish" when thinking about an OL at 11. If we go LB at 11, I hope a guy like Eben Britton falls to us at 28.

That is a worst case top ten for the Bills
It is unlikely that at least one DE wouldn’t be taken in the top ten, and it is very possible that someone will try to trade into the top 10 to get Freeman. I hope Oher/Smith fall to us at #11 and Mack/Ayers/Johnson fall to us at #28.

Yea, Oakland is a total wild card in my book. Just when you think you have there pick figured out, they throw the curveball at ya. I really don’t think Stafford is a shoe in at #1. I think it’s coming down to the $$$, they are negotiating with all 3 of them.
With the 2 QB’s at the top of the draft, man, doesn’t this remind you of the scenerio of Manning and Leaf? When indy too Manning, i thought one of the announcers kinda was beside himself. Can’t remember who, but i do remember them saying that Leaf can streach the field farther then Manning with that Big Arm of his. Hmmmm, i think old Peyton is well on his way to the H.O.F., while Leaf………. hmmm, didn’t he take over Warner’s job bagging groceries at the grocery store???

It would be embarrassing to trip on national TV.
If they did trip, their national off-field persona would match their on-field one.
I’m with you on Orakpo (At least from anything I’ve picked up, the Bills are pretty cold on him and he won’t be available anyway) and
I think the Bills, like every other team will take exactly the full amount of their allotted time, because that’s just what has always been done, so that’s what you do. (NFL in a nutshell)

This D isn’t getting over the hump until it finds some pass rushers along the DL.

I agree
I wonder if there is such a thing as a time machine, if we can go back in time and Pull Bruce Smith from 1990 and bring him to 2009. We could do a quick name change and we would have our dominating DE back.

I can’t remember a draft where I have ever been this unsure of what Buffalo is going to do. I’m not even unsure, I’m practically clueless. Realistically, they could draft any one of 10 or more players, they could trade up, they could trade down.
I will say I have been rooting against Buffalo picking the USC linebackers for a long time now. I’m not sure how our defense does anything, but improve marginally by replacing Ellison. It doesn’t actually solve any of Buffalo’s defensive problems (ie: pass rush).

I have to agree with you...
last year I guessed they would take McKelvin… The year before Lync or Poz was the pick. This year it is so open because of all the needs we have… it really is astounding.

Exactly. We were pretty sure about McKelvin last year. The year before most of us were hoping for Patrick Willis and thought that Lynch was the most likely pick if he was gone. Even though we were all shocked in 2006, I had a much better grip on who I thought Buffalo would take. It’s going to be a crazy morning for me. I’ll be like a kid on Christmas eve trying to fall asleep and I;ll wake up nervous and excited and the nerves will fade with alcohol before coming back full force as Buffalo gets on the clock. I’ve got butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it. It’s pretty pathetic actually.

It's not pathetic here...
but try saying that stuff to your wife or coworkers and see what reaction you get.

why is nobody talking about
Everrete brown he is the monster we need .
Please the playoffs again in my life time

Because we’ve talked about him at length and mostly all agreed with you. The only person I’d take ahead of Brown in this draft is Andre Smith.
