Giants release Plaxico Burress
CBS Sports is reporting that the Giants have released WR Plaxico Burress. There's no link because it's not a story yet - they're just reporting it on their main page as breaking news.
I'm sure there's some jail sentence issues, plus any possible league sanctions that forced this move. Nonetheless, does anyone think the Bills should go after him next year?
UPDATE: ESPN is now reporting this:
NEW YORK -- The New York Giants have released wide receiver Plaxico Burress, the team announced Friday.
A gun possession case against Burress in New York was adjourned Tuesday until June.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

NO WAY!!!!
He is going to be in jail for at least a year. By then, Scuba Steve and Hardy should be ready to go.
How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered?

Plax and TO
Now I know I’ve defended TO a lot, but even I am aprehensive of having TO and Plax on one team, so I think I’ll pass.

I was wondering ...
How long before someone threw this thought out to the ravinous masses.

Haha sorry
Actually, I just posted that to meet the 75 word limit. Then I saw the ESPN story which got me over the hump. Anyways, I’m not a proponent of having Burress in Buffalo at all. Sorry for the confusion!

The issue here is this: Would he be a 1 year rental at BEST before going to the slammer
I don’t think the DA in NYC is going to let him walk away without some serious jail time. He has the Mayor on his rear end over this, and it would be a horrible precedent to set to let him off easy. Personally, I think he got most of what he deserved for shooting himself through the thigh, but then what would it be like if he had shot someone else by accident when that happened.
I just don’t think we’ll see anyone make a play until they see how the legal side is going to work out.
If the Bills were a drug, I could only hope they were like speed so I could lose some weight as well.

Hard Time
Hes going to jail, lost his contract and he got shot. All by himself….
Why is there an offseason rush to the ‘county’ in the NFL that doesnt happen in other pro sports?

Wrost Idea I've ever heard.
EVER. he shot himself in the leg and he’s a prick. Not in the “I want the Ball” kindof prick T.O is but a I think I’m god and curse off police officers and get into trouble and not listen to team policy or anything the head coach says. that kindof prick
