Question regarding the draft
I have been thinking about which offensive guard the Bills could take in the 2nd round to fill the seemingly open offensive guard spot. Especially if they get someone's first and third for Peters.
My Question is: Of all the offensive guards drafted in the top 3 rounds of the last 3 drafts does anyone know how many have become immediate starters or more importantly the percentage that become immediate starters?
I can easily find all the guards drafted in rounds 1-3 in the 2006/07/08 draft but where can I find if they were starters in week 1 of the respective season they were drafted.
Thanks.
Just another great fan opinion shared on the pages of BuffaloRumblings.com.

It won't tell you if it was week 1 or week 16....
but Pro Football Reference has games started. Next to the year it says “G” for games played and “GS” for games started. I hate sending you away from the beautiful SB Nation stats but they don’t have the info you are looking for to my knowledge.
Playing Realistic Optimist at Buffalo Rumblings since 2008. Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.
off the top of my head, I can tell you …..
Chilo Rachal started most of last season for SF (although, I guess he was pretty bad) and he was taken about where Buffalo is picking this year.
Mike Pollack was the best center in last year’s draft and Indy took him in the late second and penciled him in as a starting guard right away.
Baltimore took Ben Grubbs in the first round in 2007 and he was a good starter from week one on.
Tampa Bay took Aaron Sears and converted him from OT to guard in the early second round and he was an immediate starter.
I think Justin Blalock, another early second rounder who was converted from OT to OG, started right away, or at least most of his rookie season in Atlanta.
Players drafted in the third round and on rarely start as rookies, regardless of position.
Pretty much every offensive guard drafted in the late first – early second round is going to be an immediate starter and contributer. I will say that these guys regularly have a learning curve though and are much better in their second and third seasons than as rookies.
I'm of the opinion
Chambers will be the starting LG and can battle out a rookie for the spot. He looked good at RT, when Walker was on the left, and he might be very good at Guard. Its hard to say. Chambers is pretty tall, and if he rounds out with some more bulk it might help, but at 30, its difficult to know if he can gain much more muscle mass.
I think a rookie can be better than Chambers, but depending on what the Bills staff sees on the tape of Chambers, will determine whether they decide that a need at LG is necessary in the 2nd or 3rd round. But I wouldn’t mind two interior lineman drafted and keep Chambers as merely depth for the tackle spot.
The Bills CAN win every game
