Mel Kiper's four-round mock draft: 4/9
Mel Kiper has updated his four-round mock draft. Here are Buffalo's picks for you to chew on:
1-11: Robert Ayers, DE, Tennessee
2-42: Jared Cook, TE, South Carolina
3-75: T.J. Lang, T/G, Eastern Michigan
4-110: Michael Hamlin, SS, Clemson

Don Banks 5.0 has us taking Crabtree at 11. its at sportsillustrated.cnn.com
The rest of you go get the goods on Stan. His mom grounded him once for setting something on fire. Let's find out what that something was and then lie and say it was a puppy.
We have a FanShot on that one too…

Blech.
I wouldn’t be very happy with that draft at all. I realize that Kiper couldn’t put in the results of a Peters trade and wouldn’t be surprised to learn that he didn’t have any trades at all. Still, Ayers as a fringe #10 pick? I hope we’d do more with #11….maybe getting Ayers later in the round.
yeah – i’m no draft genius by any means – but from what i’ve read everywhere – we’re basically reaching on all of the first 3 rounds based off of this aren’t we?

super Blech
I agree Ron.I dislike this draft a lot.
The time has come for someone to put his foot down. And that foot is me.
Blech with a little throw up that I reswallowed
I wonder if this is what Kiper thinks the Bills will do or should do? The Bills have made him look bad in the past by reaching for players. I wonder if he is assuming we reach again?

They have reached, but they generally don’t reach four times in a row. They backed up the Whitner/McCargo picks with Youboty, Simpson and Williams – three excellent value selections. Kiper’s got too much reaching going on here.

Ayers with 11, I don’t like it, but I can live with it. But Ayers at 11 with Brown avaliable, like it it in his mock, I can’t live with it.
But I still respect and like Mel “the hair” Kiper
I’m not too happy with Ayers – and I don’t mind Ayers at all. The only pick I’m even lukewarm about is Hamlin.

Ayers
is popping up more and more, and while I’d much rather take Matthews, Pettigrew or an OT, I can’t say I would fault the team if they think Ayers can help out our DE production

That would be a very mediocre first 4 rounds, to be kind.
I’ve said my piece on Ayers….no thanks. With Brown available, I’d be (unhappy).
I don’t mind Cook, but I’d rather get a TE in round 3 or 4.
I like Lang the player, but not in round 3.
Hamlin? meh. I haven’t seen much on him yet. He does have good production though…

I think you can all forgive me for saying this, but WHAT THE HE**!?!?!
That would be an absolutly horrible draft! What the he** is Kiper trying to do, make this team worst? Thats the worst mock draft I’ve seen this year! Ayers is not 11th overall pick material, expecially since there actually a chance that he might be available for our second round pick, Cook is not the type of TE that OBD would draft, simply because of his lack of blocking skills and we can easily wait until the 4th round for Lang!
This draft is HORRIBLE!

might be why he thinks the bills will do this

In response to your Kiper question CBF. I have said before, Kiper is HORRIBLE. He changes his mock drafts like a normal person would change their underwear. He just doesnt make sense. Whenever he hears that someones stock is moving up a bit, he automatically moves them up the draft board. The one I listed to is Mike Mayock. Mayock really has a better understanding of talent. He doesnt try to sell you on a player like Kiper does. I think if he wore less hair gel and lets some air to his head he “might” start thinking logically.

I’m actually starting to like Mayock, but Kiper is just horrible. He sometimes makes me wounder how he keeps his job.

NOT SO HORRIBLE
If you replace Cook with someone like Shawn Nelson the draft would be alot better .Also Brown is going to suck like Maybin . By the way Ayers won’t get past pick 20. Lang don’t now too much about him rather have someone like Kraig Urbik .

And if I were to redo this mock based on who's available it would be:
1-11: Everette Brown DE
2-42: Max Unger OG/C
3-75: Coffman/Beckum TE
4-110: Tyrone McKenzie OLB or Hamlin/Vaughn SS

See thats a good draft. although I doubt McKenzie last until the 4th, he would be a steal at that spot.

That's what I am talking about Kurupt.
We agree more than we should. If Coffman and Beckum were available in round 3 I would be so torn. Coffman has the best hands out there and Beckum is my favorite all around guy.

He didn’t even have Beckum in the first 4 rounds. I had to throw him in there myself!!
I don’t like Coffman in round 2 like some do. But as a 3rd rounder, he’s solid.

I'd take Beckum in the 4th in a heartbeat.
