Rosenhaus Hints DT Darnell Dockett on market?
Rosenhaus twittered that he thinks his client, DT Darnell Dockett, can be traded from the Cardinals for a 1st round pick. While that is far from a declaration that trades for the in his prime, lower end elite DT will be entertained, it must mean something that his agent would say such a thing, right?
Two questions for all of you.
1.) What, if anything, do you make of this twitter by Rosenhaus?
2.) Would you want the Bills to make a trade to get Dockett in Buffalo and at what cost?

Well, it’s public knowledge that Dockett wants to be traded, but I think AZ would be completely crazy to trade him right now. For a team that just went to the Super Bowl to trade Dockett or Boldin and get nothing that can help them out in 2009 in return is plain stupid. Like Boldin, Dockett is more of a name to file away as a guy who very well may be traded next offseason.
Rosenhaus is just doing his job. If his client is unhappy and wants a trade or a new contract, then it’s his job to put pressure on the Cards to make that happen. It’s also just smart business for Rosenhaus to get Dockett’s name out there as often as possible. When ESPN starts talking about a player potentially being traded, they become that much more of a household name and that’s a good thing for a player and his agent.

good point about immediate compensation, probably does hurt the chances of a trade.I also think you’re right about Rosenhaus just doing his job. But is Dockett mad enough to maybe hold out? I’m no familiar with the situation and why he wants to be traded.

I’m not too familiar with the situation either. I just know that he wants a new contract and has publically said things about being traded. It’s possible that he does get traded this offseason, but this situation has to devolve a lot further before we get to that point. When was the last time a team with Championship aspirations traded a really good player after the draft? (the answer is NE trading Deion Branch, which wasn’t that long ago, but I still think it’s a valid point).
This is definitely something to keep an eye on, but it’s too early for me to say whether or not I want to trade for the guy.

Move along....
I don’t see the Bills having much trade interest in Dockett, no matter how much he could help us. The draft pick compensation and contract Dockett will command just doesn’t seem like something OBD would consider this offseason.

haha!
I agree! I don’t use it but I do check Rosenhaus’ site once in a while after rotoworld.com started noting that every once in a while he puts up something good.
