Where are you from?

I get the impression that alot of the people on here are not from the Buffalo area. Some are from western New York, southern Onterio which I would expect, but other are from further afield, several in North Carolina, California. There is even one, or more, from England!

If, as i suspect, there is something on a national and international following of the Bills, is the club doing enough to encourage and maximiseits gains from it?

I have closed the poll (I think),as it is not really working as i intended, i will take your comments, along with the poll results and post them by next weekend.

Any guesses for the state/province with the most fans, after New York State.

Just outside of Montreal.

I am such a fan that I own 4 season tickets and get down 3-5 times per year. We the amounts ($$) that I drop in Buffalo I am really good for their economy! On each trip I organize tailgates that normally are 12-20 people.

I’ve started to train the next generation too, I bring my 11 year old twice a year & I organize a big tailgate (father/son) where we are normally around 20 people – The next generation of Bills fans is alive and well!

Grew up in a small town in NY – Norwich.

Family moved when I was in HS to Cincinnati, now I live in Columbus, Ohio. Most of my extended family lives in Buffalo, roo’ts planted in Lackawanna. My grandfather was good friends with the owner of SalFrancos, so I got to meet a lot of the Bills players when I was younger. Still get to Buffalo about twice a year to visit family. Love eating at Ilio DePaulo’s and Chef’s. Man… I gotta get back there soon.

Born in L.A., moved to Buffalo, moved from Buffalo when I was 7 because Kaufman’s expanded to Columbus, OH. Now in Washington, D.C. Born and raised. Love the city, hate the weather! LOVE THE BILLS! (And the Sabres) I have been a Bills fan since I was 5. Saw them on television playing the Raiders who were my father’s favorite team at the time. I said “Dad those helmets are awesome, I am going to have to root for those guys.” Low and behold, my grandfather has known Ralph through business ( and his big mouth) for almost 20 years. Born & raised in Buffalo, but I live in Naperville, IL now. I get back for one game each each year. My brothers and I get 15 or 20 tickets and go with family and friends. When we started 10 or 12 years ago it seemed that they’d win every time we were there. We were on a losing streak for a few years, but then we saw the Chargers game last year. It was memorable for a lot of reasons. It was so much fun at the end of the game, streaming out of there with 70+ thousand sky-high fans! I think most of us were under the delusion that we had a lock on a playoff spot…..maybe the division… maybe, maybe …..

This a first time post of a lifelong Bills fan who has become hopelessly addicted to this wonderful blog. I just wanted to talk up what I’ve called home for 23 years, even though I haven’t lived there for the past 4. I live in NYC now and came by way of Boston, MA. (The worst place in the world to find a Bills game, and yes, the Sabres-Canes Game 7 three years ago was impossible to find because a REGULAR SEASON Yankees-Red Sox was on. I learned to get NHL Center Ice.) I’ve travelled to 4 different continents and lived in 2 major american cities. Home is home and it’s difficult to replace. Outside of Hockey and Football, I don’t care about pro sports. I love Weber’s Mustard and Picalilly Relish on a Sahlen’s Hot Dog, George’s in Boston NY, Ted’s as well, Lake Erie, the vacant steel mills and grain elevators and 4 foot overnight dumps of snow. I plan on moving back eventually. I know that this was a simple question that I already answered in the heading, but I really needed to get that off my chest.

Sydney, Australia

I grew up in the states, in D.C. to be exact. My mum was from Niagara Falls, and we used to go up there to see my grandparents. This was also right about the time that Jim Kelly was making his early 90s superbowl runs, so I guess it stuck. I have always liked their spirit. Even when they dominated there was still something of an underdog to them. I remember watching the superbowl in the kithcen hunched over my little 6 inch black and white telly while my parents watched PBS downstairs!

Now I live in Sydney, and let me tell you it is pretty hard to get a game! Foxtel shows a couple games a week during the season, though they tend to be on about 10am on Mon and Tue. Try finding a pub open then! So I am very pleased to find great websites like this where I can keep up with whats going on.

In the meantime, I get my kicks following the South Sydney Rabbitohs (Go the Bunnies!) in Rugby League and the Essendon Bombers (Up the Bombers!) in Aussie Rules. Both sports can be pretty exciting. League for the big hits, and AFL for the sheer frantic energy. Check them out if you get the chance.

Raleigh

Grew up in Buffalo, lived in Los Angeles, and now live in Raleigh. Talk about different cultures. Miss the food in Buffalo, but not the winters. Summers are great though. Unless you golf, not much to do in Raleigh.
