true, I’ve seen them too… once per few months.

I am so proud of the fact that I can say I was there. One of the greatest moments of my childhood.

I’m so proud of the fact that I can say….I was in my mother’s womb. I was still 5 months away.

It was unlike anything I’ve ever witnessed. Ever play went as if it were scripted. My dad was so pissed and wanted to leave, but we had a foreign exchange student from Australia with us. I didn’t want to and because of that game, I will never leave a buffalo bills game until the very last second has clicked off the clock.

I wasn't there, BUT....

We did a book signing for Levy in NYC when his book came out, we packed the bar with 200+ Bills fans who all bought his book and got to meet him. We decided to spruce it up by showing The Comeback game while people waited in line (beers in hand.)

Turns out the end of the game came just after he signed the last book 3 hours later. I was about to hand Levy my book and he said “Hold on Matt, I want to see this kick. I want to see us win this game.” So we stood there and watched Christie nail the kick and the 50 people or so still left in the bar broke out in applause for him. He said that was the first time he’d seen the game since that day.

I remember listening to this game on the radio!!!!

How many years can we go without making the playoffs...eventually the odds go in your favor.........right?!?!?

Right

Because it wasn’t televised….at a friend’s house I turned it off, and we were all bummed, but when I went home, my dad checked the score and found we were coming back, for the whole 4th qtr and OT, my dad and I paced back and forth as the minutes and seconds ticked off….one of the greatest moments of my life, and one of my greatest memories of me and my father together, with our Bills….and never will I be ashamed of that

The Bills CAN win every game

To anyone that says proffesional sports are a useless social exercise, I say look at those moments. One of my favorite moments as a kid was watching the Habs win the cup in ’93 with my dad.

This is why sports are great and no one can convice me otherwise.

by CanadianBillsFan on May 3, 2009 11:57 PM EDT up reply actions

I’m sure your dad is awesome, but the Habs are most definitely not. :)

by Mark Parisi on May 4, 2009 6:28 PM EDT up reply actions

My dad was awsome (he passed away a few months ago), and those 24 cups tell me that the Habs are awsome too. Now remind me, how many cups have the sens won?

My life would not be the same

if this game did not happen. Through all the pain and agony of the Super Bowl losses, this special moment that belongs only to the Buffalo Bills and their fans is something that makes me feel whole inside.

ever seen the movie Invincible? sounds like the play that the father talks about all the time.

I was stationed in Korea

I woke up at 1:00 am to watch the game. I woke up my Korean sons, as I was cussing at the tv. They stayed up watching the game, not really understanding what was happening, just that it was important to me. Ended up being 15 minutes late for work, but my boss understood. Thanks for the memories.

Why do today, when it can wait til tomorrow; the games on!

I enjoyed watching that again

It was nice to be reminded what it felt like to be proud of the Bills. Maybe someday we won’t have to live in the past.

Back when I had NFL Network (oh, how I hate that TWC doesn’t give it to us anymore. At least we get Fox News! /kills self) this would come on and my afternoon was officially over- especially the one where it was intercut with interviews from the various players and coaches. Just a great game to watch (for us). I think I watched it with my Steelers fan roommates once just to prove to them that we were actually good at one point in time.

What a Game!!!!

I was able to watch this game on television! It was blacked out and many of my friends went, only to leave right after the interception in the third quarter that “pretty much ended it.”

I got to watch this game on television because my dad had an old intenna that he hoked up to our existing intenna on the roof and we got the signal out of Syracuse. I will never forget that day, he was yelling at me because I wouldn’t come help him with a project and I said dad you have got to see what is going on here. We watched the last quarter together and that was one of the best memories in my life! No doubt about it!

This game was and always will be…..one of my favorite sporting memories ever; and I wasn’t even there. I was cutting carrots non-stop after the 2nd Reed TD.

by krytime on May 3, 2009 11:37 PM EDT reply actions

I remember this all too well

8 years old….I watched the first half…..pretty much in tears at halftime……my dad took me to our local swap meet to get me away from the game, I kept telling him over and over that the Bills would come back……(he was a raiders fan) and he just wouldnt let me stay home…..I caught a few plays here and there from TV’s in some of the booths….I remember it being 35-24 and then I didnt find out the end until I got home later that day….needless to say I was pretty pissed at my dad for a while after that lol…

BTW: If there’s a cooler guy in the entire world than Frank Reich…..i’d be hard pressed to believe it……….

Reich is one of my two favorite Bills ever.

My brother got a Reich Panthers jersey on ebay a while ago. Love that guy.

One of my favorite memories of my childhood.

Because the game was blacked out my brother, dad, and I were listening to the game while cleaning the basement. We kept getting bummed out. Then they started coming back and we stopped cleaning for a while. Listening as Van Miller described that OT kick is something I won’t soon forget.

I was 12 for this game

This game taught me to never give up.

I remember listening to it on the radio because it was blacked out in Rochester. I was so disgusted after that interception (35-3) that I turned off the game and went to do something else. Later I decided that I should find out the final score and just how bad it was.

Christie was lining up the kick in OT.

I’ve never left a losing game (in anything) early since then. None of my friends understand, but I know Bills fans do.

i was too young to have seen the game, but i’m watching this now. what a fantastic game this must have been to see in full.

i’d have to say that two biggest things i saw on this video were the play of our offensive line (dominating! watch the LT the entire time…was that fina? i don’t remember) and the play of our WRs, particularly everyone’s favorite, Reed. talk about finding the holes in zone coverage!

what a game.

LT was Will Wolford.

Great game, great memories. I remember watching the whole game with my dad, we didn’t turn it off for one play! I remember hearing about all those people that left at halftime and were allowed back in later once the comeback started, haha.

IIRC, they tried stopping people initially, and then finally just said, “What the heck, just let them back in.”

I've watched this twice

Love the former Bills coaches on the Oilers. Jerry Gray and Steve Jackson both.
