Madden 10 Maybin, Wood rankings
EA sports released its rankings for the entire 1st round draft class for the upcoming game and as usual demonstrate their incompetence. Eric Wood receives a 71, the lowest rating of any 1st rounder while Maybin gets a 78.

Power Moves: 73
Tackle: 72
Speed: 84
Wood Overall: 71
Strength: 84
Run Blocking Footwork: 82
Run Blocking Strength: 81

Jairus Byrd is a 71 overall and oddly enough, Levitre was ranked higher than Wood with a 73.

how do they even get that rating?
his numbers are 84, 82, 81, 76 in all the important stats…..that equals higher than 71 to me…

its hard to tell..
i think his run blocking and pass blocking should be better.. just look at the kid play.. but it is madden so i’ll let it slide..
he would have to have some pretty low rankings in other areas.. that’s all i can

Who cares what EA thinks of our draft picks? All that matters is that they produce on the field. Let them give our whole team 40s as long as they make the playoffs!

I know that there are those people out there that put a lot of stock in the Madden rankings. I however couldn’t care any less.

I can not believe there is anyone who actually puts stock in Madden rankings. Its a videogame made by videogame developers not by scouts, right?
I hope people take the above as just fun stuff and not any indication of our draft picks. Heck, if Madden was accurate Jason Peters would have been the best tackle in football last year!

Exactly right. I’m a big Madden fan, but every year I have to upgrade the ratings of a few Bills players to try and keep it reletive. The Bills consistently get low-balled in Madden and I don’t see that ever changing.

Man, I immediately signed Peters to a long term deal in Madden. They don’t simulate anything close to a realistic situation for him, so it’s a no brainer to lock him up. In the game, he plays like he’s worth the money!

i am a huge madden player but i don't make predictions on our season based off of the rankings.. especially these one's they are almost laughable
w/ wood being ranked so low, and he was by many considered the best interior lineman in this years draft, and it’s even more laughable that levitre is ranked ahead of wood… but like i said i don’t put much stock in them but do think they are interesting to look at…
the only thing that sucks about his is that the bills probably will still have a horrible rushing attack on the video game…so i’ll stick w/ my normal short passing attack to get me through w/ them… the cool thing about the game is that depending how the players do in real life they will be upgraded when updates are made if you play on-line… so if we’re able to dominate upfront, primarily talking about the middle then maybe i will actually be able to run the ball more than 5-10 times game

in the rankings it has WOOD'S COLLEGE AS CALIFORNIA..HAHA..he went to LOUISVILLE!!!
like i said i’m a huge madden fan.. but that’s laughable.. come on guys.. and to put woods’ rankings that low is laughable as well..

adjusted ranking numbers
i should point out that i read an article today discussing the reshuffling of the numbers in the madden 10 rankings. from now on, 70 is an average player, rather than 80. so maybin got a pretty good grade, all around, for a rookie.
