Why Langston Walker at LT scares me!

You are kidding… right?

Peters had a handful of blocks that were worse than this last season, so it isn’t like this is proof of what Walker can or cannot do. But we should fully expect to see a bunch of these type of sacks this season.
It’s about two and a hlf seconds from snap to contact and while that’s enough time for Trent to get rid of the ball, it also highlights how much more important LT is than RT because Trent had no clue that Harrison was coming. Threre was nothing Edwards could have done on that play to avoid that sack. He couldn’t feel it coming. Stepping up in the pocket would have given him another tenth of a second or so. When Walker gets this little of a rusher as fast and talented as Harrison, it’s going to wind up a sack almost every time and the ball is going to get knocked out of Trent’s hand a lot of the time too.
Golly gee
No sense in playing any games since we’ve decided that’s what’s going to happen. Isn’t this last year? Any chance that Langston might improve with getting another full training camp etc? I’m sure he will have his struggles but the game-planning can compensate with help from the TE and fullback and such…Seems like the FO and coaching staff have a plan. I’m hoping it will be enough…
Of course he can improve. But this video is a displays his athleticism (or lack thereoff). Harrison just uses him. Basically Harrison was clearly the better athlete on this play, I don’t know what Walker could have done after he missed making initial contact. He is not athletic enough to overcome any of these mistakes against the top-notch DE’s. That is why he is NOT a LT.

What’d I say? It’s a fact that we should expect Walker to get embarrased on at least a handful of plays this year. That is just what happens when you have the biggest and one of the slowest LTs in the league and you play against Peppers, Mario Williams, Freeney, Abraham, etc…
It doesn’t mean that I think Walker sucks or anything. It just means that he is going to have some plays where somebody burns him like Harrison does in the vid. I did mention that Peters got burnt a handful of times last year too. I can say with complete certainty that Walker won’t be a dominant LT.
I honestly think that Bell will take over at LT sometime after the bye week. That would also create a more favorable matchup agaisnt the guys that you mentioned… well at least the ones that we face in the second half of the season.

CBF... I like you man....
We tend to agree on a lot of stuff. But we have seen Bell get exactly zero snaps. He was so ready to take those snaps last year that he was active for zero games. Even asking him to be on the field this year is a jump over last year. I don’t know how you can expect him to be our starting LT, barring injury, by week 9, even if he is more athletic. I would trust an unathletic Walker at LT more than an unproven Bell there. At least until I see Bell actually on the field in some capacity.

Hey I never said that it would be a good idea!
I think pushing Bell into anything but a support role this season would be a HUGE mistake. But I<d like to present you with a few pieces of evidence to back up my claim.
Exibit A: Langston Walker at LT
Exibit B: The Bills coaching staff.
Exibit C: The coaching staff’s unexplained fondness for Bell.
Exibit D: Dick Freakin’ Jauron!
I rest my case.

They didn't rush him along last year.
Why would they do it this year? If they were so uncomfortable with Walker at LT they would have done something to address it.

That Jane Seymour is freakin delusional...
That commercial ticks me off. Hey lady, you really think your stupid Cobrat looking piece of crap is going to be a universal symbol of love and hope?!?! HAHA! That’s more delusional that a Lions fan that thinks they can win the Super Bowl this year.

I wouldn't worry
Jason Peters showed fans that very same play many times last season. One was against a safety, to boot. No one should worry until there’s a reason to worry, imo.
