[John] McCargo has been one of the most frequent attendees of the offseason conditioning program. He’s healthy and it seems as though he has really taken a new approach to the game, which is encouraging.

If McCargo finally turns into the player
we all hoped he could be, it will be huge for the defense. I love Stroud and Williams, but we need that 3rd quality DT to give us an effective rotation. Come on McBusto…..play like you want a new contract :-)
It was once said that a black man would be president when pigs fly - Sure enough 100 days in Obama's presidency - swine flu :-)
McBusto…awesome!
Agreed, and I do think McCargo is one of two or three big wild cards on this team – players that could have an unbelievably big impact by finally playing well.

There is no doubt
McCargo got talent — 1st round talent, in fact. The question is whether he puts it in use.
If he could turn his attitude around despite last year’s failed trade fiasco, then his impact on the team can be more significant than many of the players the Bills signed and drafted this past off-season.
Bills fan half way around the world
well
I heard this last off-season too…he spent the entire off-season training with a group of guys at some sports athletic facility….he needs to just realize it’s contract time and if you wanna make money, put up or shut up
MARVelous - "I went from America's team to North America's Team" Terrell Owens
That was different. McCargo was talked about after he spent a couple of weeks training with Coy Wire doing crazy stuff outdoors. But it was only a couple of weeks long and I don’t remember the team actually saying anything positive about what kind of shape McCargo was in last offseason.
He actually went back again this summer

Although when he stands next to Tank Tyler, he looks terribly out of shape and not nearly as strong as Tyler is. But the point is that in addition to Wire’s program, McCargo has been in Buffalo working out with the staff and his teammates which is something I have never seen him get credit for doing before. Maybe he has been here in years past, but I have never seen him get a mention like this one before. And Jon Corto is ripped. I wonder if he has gained a lot of weight in an attempt to get closer to what an actual LB weighs.
You're right I think McCargo wasn't ready for the rigors of the NFL
But I don’t think he came into a good situation. After he got injured he seemed to be in Bill Kollar’s dog house which even Chris Brown has acknowledged: http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2009/05/08/fan-friday-5-8
I could never understand this especially considering McCargo’s first full season stats
McCargo 2007 29 Total Tackles 2.5 Sacks 4 Passes Defended and 1 Forced Fumble
Not rookie of the year but look at Haloti Ngata’s first year stats (also a 2006 first round pick)
Ngata 2006 31 Tackles 1 Sack 2 Passes Defended and 1 INT Now look at what he did the next year 2007 63 Tackles 3 sacks 1 forced fumble 1 pass defended
Just makes me wonder, what McCargo could have done. Also not quite sure how ripped your average DL is. What do I know maybe Sam Adams looked like Hercules under his jersey lol.
