"I don’t think every team is going to start being like the Yankees and start throwing money around. Some teams will do that, but on the flip side, others will say since we don’t have to spend $102 million, we’ll spend $80 million. The landscape will definitely change and it won’t be a windfall for everybody.

He's right, all while being very wrong.
He’s right that not every team will spend like the Yankess. Problem is, some teams will, and those teams will be sucessful, while other teams will only spend that 80M and wont be sucessful. I see the Cowboys and the Giants turning into the Yankess and Redsoxs and the Bills turning into the Toronto Blue Jays.

Like the Yankees and Mets in recent seasons, right?

Well lets look at all the post-strike World Series Champs
2008 – Philly – average spender
2007 – Boston – BIG spenders
2006 – St-Louis – Borderline big spenders
2005 – Chicago WSox – Big spenders
2004 – Boston – Big spenders
2003 – Florida – Average spenders
2002 – Anaheim – Borderline big spenders
2001 – Arizona – Small budget
2000 – NY Yankees – BIG spenders
1999 – NY Yankees – BIG spenders
1998 – NY Yankees – BIG spenders
1997 – Florida – Small Budget
1996 – NY Yankees – BIG spenders
1995 – Atlanta – Borderline big spenders
So in the 14 seasons since the MLB strike there have been 7 championships won by undeiable big spenders, 5 championships by team that were as rediculous in their spending but still spent quite a bit that year in hopes of winning the championship, and only 2 championships won by teams that did’t go overboard on their spending that year (basicly they were Cinderella teams). Now I know that spend a lot of money on buying the best team possible is not always the answer, just look at the Redskins, but if this doesn’t show that it drastically improves your chances, then I don’t know what will.
I’m afraid of this happening in the NFL, because if it does then the Bills have almost no chance of winning.

But the NFL will also alter the free agent structure...
It won’t be as bad as you think. I am gonna do a story about the uncapped year and how it affects free agency.

I’m hoping that it wont be as bad as I think, otherwise we’re entirely screwed!
