Brad Butler got a call from Bills after draft telling him he was moving to OT because they weren't able to draft some guys they wanted to.
Andre Smith anyone?

This is clearly related to the unfortunate fact that we couldn’t draft Andre Smith at 11, but again that’s what happens, and frankly looking at it now, I don’t really feel all that bad about drafting a player in Maybin, whom I believe will become a phenomenal pass-rusher with time.

Like you I'm not mad this didn't happen.
Especially seeing all the agent crap Smith has done since the draft.

That was and still is – which I think a lot of people share – my biggest concern regarding Smith – his obvious lack of brain trust and dubious work-ethic. It goes without saying that he’s a fierce run-blocker with a tremendous potential, but the question marks are definitely there with him.

“some guys”?? Nope, just Andre Smith. They had to know that Jason Smith and Eugene Monroe weren’t going to be there, and they had a chance to draft every other OT in the draft, so it had to be Smith and Smith only…..

True, but the Bills are the kind of team who wouldn’t officially move Butler to OT until after the draft even if Jason Smith was the only OT they would’ve taken at 11. My guess is that they would have drafted any of the three OTs who were already off the board. They also might have been 99% sure that Maybin would be there, but had Oher somewhere in their top 11 prospects and didn’t want to tell Butler he’s moving only to get screwed over by a couple teams drafting the guys they really wanted and sticking them with Oher. It might not just be that guys weren’t there, but that Maybin was there.
Yeah that's what I tweeted back to Tucker.
