"3. Terrell Owens will play in fewer than 12 games

It seems as though Owens’ "good boy" period shrinks shorter and shorter at every stop. And while I’ve recently seen some maturation in the oft-childish drama queen, I still don’t see him getting through 2009 in Buffalo with smiles, lollipops and ice cream.

This is more of a hunch than anything, but I’m thinking that if off-field dilemma doesn’t strike T.O. this year in western New York, injuries will finally catch up to the 35-year-old.

Aside from that infamous stretch with Philadelphia in 2005, Owens has pretty much gone his entire career without getting hurt. So if he’s not due for another blow-up, he is due for age to catch up to him.

Owens has played in fewer than 14 games only once in his career. I’m going to go out on a limb and say he doesn’t get to 12 in ’09. "

How many games do you think T.O. will play this season? I would have done a poll, but I don't think you can add them to FanShots.

I was thinking more along the lines of 14 games.

If we are not in the hunt late in the year, I can’t see T.O. playing in the cold.

I don’t get that perception at all. I think T.O. is too competitive to just quit because he is cold. I would estimate that 95% of his blow-up have been because he wants to win. T.O. may be a lot of things, but I don’t see him as a quitter.

The older you get, the less you like getting hit in cold weather. I wouldn't blame him.

And wasn’t he criticized for nursing an injury and not getting back on the field to practice? I have images of him riding a stationary bike on the sidelines, but could be wrong. I agree he is competitive, but if the Bills are out of the hunt…..will he really risk injury and his next big payday for the Bills?

That is practice. I also remember him coming back way early from a broken leg and having one of the best games for a WR in Super Bowl history. I think T.O. is one of the most competitive guys out there.

Are you equating playing in a SB with play a meaningless Bills game in December?

I am not quesitioning his toughness, just what is required to motivate him.

Ha! No, but that is the only instance I could think of of him playing through an injury because he is almost never hurt. I think that sitting out of practice and sitting out of a game, no matter how far out of it his team is, are two different things for T.O. Lets not forget that I think it is almost universally assumed that T.O. is playing this year to earn 1 more big contract. Sitting out games at the end of a lost season wouldn’t sit well with future employers.

agreed, unless it is something difficult to prove

like a hurt big toe or a pulled hammy.

Yeah but you guys seem to forget that TO played multiple games on a broken freaking leg. I don’t think that anything will keep him off the feild if he wants to play.

If if he has already done that is the first 13 games,

why risk it?

This is one of the weirdest “bold predictions” that I have ever read.

Mostly has to do with how highly it’s ranked on the list.

I don’t buy this at all. I wish people would stop making predictions about something going wrong with the Bills. Watch three writers pick the Bills as their “surprise team” of the season. I won’t be surprised. I understand after nine years of no playoffs even though we have posted the number 2 D for two years and number 2 O for 2 other years. God! This is the year to shed the image that we’ve carried for the past decade.

Sorry for the dump.

This is not based on anything. He’s never missed time so why would he miss time now (barring Roy Williams coming around).

maybe he has a crystal ball or a ouiga board :-)

don’t get your shorts in a bunch Matt. If he could prove them or they were likely to happen they wouldn’t be BOLD would they :-)

I think he will play in all 16 games

whether he is happy in all 16 games is something different. I see at least one game where he bashes someone for not getting him the _ ball
